New riders: Kern and Kern

The newest signings of Team Coldfire both go by the name Kern, even though one is German and one is French.

Christophe Kern joins for the first time a team that is not French. He is an experienced rider who has seen all kinds of different racing situations. He is also a decen time-trialist, he won the French ITT championship in 2011.

Julian Kern is a great German talent who couldn’t miss out on the chance to be supported by a domestic team. His favorite places to race are France and Italy and he strong at climbing.

In our next update we will present you the last bunch of signings!

Spoiler

@Atlantius: that's one of the reasons why he joined us.
@others: thanks all!

Coldfire 2014 team completed!

Today Team Coldfire have announced the signing of 6 more riders who will be the last ones to be added to the squad. Here is a quick overview of the new guys:

Hayden Roulston (New Zealand) leaves RadioShack – Leopard to play a bigger role in the classics. He is powerful and faster than the average in a sprint.

Jesse Sergent (New Zealand)could be seen as Roulston’s assistant. He also specializes in classic races as well as time trialing. He is bound to play a decisive role in several situations.

Marc Hester (Denmark) is one of the fast guys. He will become the most important man for Robert Wagner in the bunch sprints.

Jos Van Emden (Netherlands) is very strong in time trials and a perfect addition for racing action in the Benelux countries.

Xian Wu Hao (China) starts his professional career at Team Coldfire. He is only 18 years old and already very fast on his bike. He comes over to Europe to become physically stronger. Experts say he is very talented but lacks some endurance. That is what we are going to work on.

Daniel Rinner (Liechtenstein) is only 21 but already double national champion in Liechtenstein. He is currently with the Austrian Team Vorarlberg but very eager to join a bigger team. He is a strong fighter on both flat and hilly terrain, but he is not one to compete on the highest mountains.

This concludes the forming of our new team. We are now very motivated to finally get racing!

RESULTS
Australian Championships

1. Heinrich Haussler (Colnago - CSF Inox)
2. Richie Porte (Sky) +0
3. Allan Davis (GreenEdge) +30
4. Cadel Evans (BMC) +30
5. Baden Cooke (GreenEdge) +52
6. Rory Sutherland (Saxo Bank) +52
7. Matthew Goss (GreenEdge) +1'09
8. Luke Roberts (Team Oster Hus - Ridley) +1'28
9. Simon Clarke (GreenEdge) +1'28
10. Adam Hansen (Lotto Belisol) +1'28
11. Simon Gerrans (GreenEdge) +1'52

A surprise in the first race of the season, Simon Gerrans cannot be found in the Top 10 of Australia's road race. Instead, Haussler and Porte got away and of course the better sprinter won.

1st Aussie Champs for Heinrich Haussler Smile

@Matthew - I hope so, too. We have some guys in the team that like that race very much and it would be a pity to miss out on it.

@all - I hope it's okay that I post results of the races I don't participate in just like I did with the Aussie Champs Wink
