6 minutes on Morkov should be doable in the mountains. Go Jesús!

@The Rider: Did Mosquera and others actually try to finish within the time limit or where they just peddaling through the landscape?

Well lost one guy, but cannot complain about having Jerome moving forward on GC.
Still Morkov hanging around dangerously of course.

I knew this stage would be deadly. That's why the likes of Mosquera never made it to my shortlist: I didn't expect them to make it to the mountains
Edit: Adam Hansen being awesome

Lost two riders including Cheula
But at least we got 26 pts on cobbled stage 3. There is no yellow jersey advantage. I am sure. Really.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

@Selwink Ghyselinck is actually a good guy for the GC as well, with this big of a gap, and just 3 mountain stages...

Well, my other 2 climbers are still in the race but with two more cobblestone stages up, I don't even expect them to make it. Besides that, Mosquera held up pretty good on the first cbs-stage - I'm pretty sure that this time positioning just destroyed the race for us.
Congratulations to Team Iberia of course.

Well he didn't ride personally. But he came home (probably empty) in a group with 5 Coca Cola Lime riders (control team) and they were all spent energy wise. When you get dropped so early on in the stage like that you are always in danger of not making the time limit. |

It can only be a mistake, can't it?
WHAT ARE YOUR DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hop, hop, Bernaudeau and Roels, stay here. You even didn't make the cut and you think you can sneak out like that? You wait till the end of the speech for a little private conversation.
For the so called leader, you go biking 3 hours, I bought you some flashy shirt and light so you can continue into the dark. May be you will be warm when the race start tomorrow.
For the other, use the Gym to work all night!
Oh and as promised your bank accounts are now totally empty.
What go, go, what are you waiting for?
A massage? Really, you stay 1 more sec, and I'll deliver the massage myself
Now Bernaudeau, Roels let's have a little man to man conversation

PRESS RELEASE CACTUS GIANT
We have dismissed our Head Coach following complaints within the team.
His methods were apparently a bit too strong for our riders.
We would also like to express our regret to Bernaudeau and Roels and wish them a smooth and quick recovery. Doctors said that they should be out of the hospital in less than 2 weeks, which is very good news!
Our deputy coach will take over. We still have strong ambitions for the team even though the Total Domination promised by our former coach may not happen. We will held a press conference after the stage later today.

It's mainly because I know this stage very well and I've always had around 20-30 riders abandoning so I knew it could be very dangerous for the worst cobblers

STAGE 5: Hainleite - Hainleite 185 KM
Stage Favourites:
*****Jerome(LEC) ****Morkov(CON) ***Traksel(UKY)
**Schierlinckx(AVI) *Reihs(TMO)
We have more cobbles today. But they are nowhere near as challenging and formidable as they were on stage 4 and as they will be on stage 6.
Noval is the first to attack as a BIG 15 man break gets away.
Noval is joined by: Gretsch, Sagan, Belkov, Ladino, delaParte, Domalgalski, Veikannen, Boaro, Dean, McCann, Wurf, Kozontchuk, Hester and best placed in GC Wytinck (36th @ 10'53). Behind Team Iberia set about defending the yellow jersey for the first day here.
Left: The break tackle the Kyffhaeuser climb with 100 kilometres to go.
Right: With 95 kilometres to go Cordeel falls as the news of Karimov's retirement is broadcast over race radio (another bad piece of news for Semen Indonesia) .
With 120 kilometres to go the break reached a gap of 10'00 over the peloton, subsequently T-Mobile, Bluebell and Aer Lingus took up the chase.
We reach the final 35 kilometres with the break at 3'10. That means we have 5* laps over Arnstaedter Hohle before a winner is decided.
Home favourite Muller of Construtora AJS attacks but slows up when no one joins him.
With 21 kilometres to go and the break at 1'50 de Marchi (Lectrosonics) attacks out of the peloton, the punchuers are coming to the fore.
With 12 kilometres to go the break have 1'20 over the peloton with domestiques tiring. For the third time Muller attacks and this time he will reach the break with 10 kilometres to go.
9 KM to go: Ladino sniffs an opportunity and attacks the rest of the break. The peloton are around 1'05 behind so this could be a good move, the break can't respond to the Colombian's attack.
With 6 kilometres to go a flurry of attacks come from the peloton.
Marlon Perez, Vincent Jerome and Jerome Pineau all put in big attacks.... before Ghyselinck and Lemoine also put in decent attacks. The rest of the break are caught with 1.5 kilometres to go. Ladino still has '28.....
The attacking and slowing up from the big favourites behind looks to be favouring the Colombian. He will surely win!
HE DOES! A solo win for Ladino!
The Colombian crowns a couple of fantastic days for Lectrosonics with a gallant stage win.
The next group come home '22 behind lead by Popovych. Hansen finishes third in the blanket finish and as Leezer failed to finish in the group of 90 he will move up to 2nd in GC.
