Hello Manager?
I would like to know why I was not picked for the later classics like San Sebastian. I really enjoy this race, and I feel maybe I could have gotten into the top 50 there. Furthermore, it was part of our initial agreements that we made early in the year, which is part of why I signed!
You have been very mean lots of times, and say how I am always disappointing, and then making threats, and when I do as I ask, and you promise you will renew my contract, you sack me anyway! I think it is unfair that you ask so much of me, and you do not do your end of the deal. |

Message from TMM Sports Management
Hello,
You may notice this is not a normal message from the FDJ management team. As you may have noticed the team has been rather quiet since the commencement of Part 3, and this has now reached a critical level of absence. The result of this is that EPIC has requested that we step in, to cover for the missing management, to the best of our ability. This, frankly, is only going to be at a PR level and in preperations for next season such as signing riders.
The riders will do their best but circumstances are hard and results are expected to suffer. This was seen, in part, during the recent Tour de France where Pinot and Bouhanni were noticable in their lack of performance. Obviously this discounts Thibauts terrific Stage 20 victory.
Credit is given out to Jeremy Roy and Arnaud Demare for securing something from the race. Roy was extremely visible in Week 1 as part of numerous breakaways. Meanwhile Demare launched an impressive sprint campaign which many felt deserved at least one stage win.
The captains like Fedrigo, Mourey and Vaugrenard will be taking over more responsibilty in trying to keep the large youth segment moving in the right directions. The road ahead is bumpy, no denying that, and relegation looks inevitable at this point. However we are commited to bringing FDJ back to a strong level in the 2014 season.
We will continue to update you on any developments concerning the old management.

Hello, fellow people. Actually im a little bit sad, despite the succesful spring classics campaign i havent had the opportunity to race the awaited Eneco Tour. Such a waste of my training time on cobbles in the last month. But hopefully i gained advantage from this for the next year.
About my next year plans. I dont know, really no. Until the Eneco Tour i havent oriented for any other team, but after that i sended some CVs to another teams. Maybe the FDJ management can convince me, but isnt sure.

Hi Peter,
We are sorry we did not get you to the Eneco Tour. Following the changes in management the UCI auto-selected the squad for us and left you on the sidelines. We will also not be able to select you for any remaining events, however if you offer yourself up directly to the UCI i think they will try and include you in any remaining events you want to ride.
As for next season the old management did offer you an opportunity to renew, and that offer continues with us. Nothing official can be signed yet but we will have a third space to fill. You will be up against a couple of other guys for that spot, but as an existing team rider you will have priority if you wish to remain with FDJ through this new phase of its existance.
If you want more specifics of negotiation do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Is anybody out there (maybe yourself?) who can explain to me why you are always so active around here but don't bother sending startlists in?

I was working over the summer when the startlists had to be sent out (even missed Le Tour ) so hence i missed sending them out. Then once i got back i couldn't really be bothered since i aiming to relegate anyway.
What i have done is taken that and turned it into a little story line to earn me improvement points

Great news for the team as a number of FDJ riders have been selected to race the World Championships! Johan Le Bon gets to tackled both the U23 ITT and RR, his strong showings in Eneco really boosting his value. In the U23 RR he's joined by classics specialists Peter Pal, sprinter Arnaud Demare and climber Kenny Elissonde. It will be interesting to see how the riders handle the course but it's a great learning and growing opportunity for the younger riders.
Jeremy Roy will be taking part in the Elite ITT event, whilst Thibaut Pinot, Arthur Vichot and Pierrick Fedrigo all take part in the Elite RR. It's a strong French team and our riders will have real roles to play come race day. No other French team is as well presented in the national team as FDJ. Yes the season has been below expectation but our riders have given several strong performances to earn their places in the team. We will wish them all the best of luck and hope for a strong result.
Our Canadian RR champion, Dominique Rollin, will be making the trip as well as part of the Canadian team.

Great news lads. As the team management said earlier, the selector of the french national U23 team seeing my spring classics performances and selected me to his WC lineup. Not my terrain because lack of the cobblestones, but i can go in the breakaway, make a late time attack or surely i can work for my teammates. Im so excited. See you at the Worlds, yeahhhh.

With the season entering its closing stages here at FDJ we are starting to make decisions about our riders futures. Already confirmed to leave are Peter Pal and Delfi Cervero. We do wish them both the best of luck in this next stage of their careers. We've also decided we will not be keeping either Rollin, Fischer or Boucher next season. Fischer and Boucher will not be renewed whilst we will look to sell on Canadian NC Rollin. This is part of our move to become a fully french team, as well as our need to scale down for the PCT.
As part of this we will look to cut roughly half of our current squad. After those 5 losses we aim to drop another 12+ riders. A number of riders we already know will leave including: Mangel, Mourey, Pineau, Geslin and Bonnet. This leaves us looking for 7 more to cut, a very tough choice to make. The most borderline currently are Vaugrenard, Jeanesson, Pichon and Casar.
We will definately be working our hardest to keep several riders though. Our big trio of Demare, Bouhanni and Pinot are key to the teams future and we will be working hard to keep them. Pinot knows his season has been relatively poor. Both Demare and Bouhanni havn't had the best season but both have shown improvements in their development as riders.
Behind that trio Elissonde, Geniez, Ladagnous, Le Bon, Roux, Roy, Vichot and Viennet are also looking to be secured going forwards. These riders are all talented and can score points in their own rights given a bit of time and freedom.
This will, hopefully, leave us some room to bring in a few more riders. We will be sticking purely to french riders with a planned focus on youth. Along these lines we've already got Bousche and Feunard for next season. We wait to see exactly who will become available but we will have the resources to get a few new names.
Non-Renewal: Fishcer, Boucher, Mangel, Mourey, Pineau, Geslin, Bonnet
Listed: Rollin, Vaugrenard, Pichon, Jeanesson, Casar
Unknown: Courteille, Delage, Fedrigo, Offredo, Soupe

Today we bring news for the 2014 season. Part of our itermediary role has been to search for a new General Manager to take over the running of FDJ.fr. After a lengthy search we have decided to hire Faye Marcus for that position of General Manager. Faye Marcus has previously worked for a selection of pro-womens teams for over a decade. She has covered most roles inside of a team and we feel has the best chance of taking FDJ.fr through this transitionary PCT season.
As part of this transition we've been allowed to sign three EPIC riders, an increase of one from this season. We've already confirmed the signings of Aquali Feunard and Erik Bousche as part of our project of developing the best French talent. Today we confirm the pre-contract signing of 21yo Plusvite Q. de la Lumiere. Plusvite is a talented sprinter in much the same vein as his old friend Nacer Bouhanni. Partnered up with either Demare of Bouhanni he can really grow with us next season.
So once the final races conclude we will be handing over to Faye and wish her the best of luck taking the team forwards.

Hi,
I'll give myself a proper introduction in the off-season. Currently i've traveled out to Firenze to take a close look at my FDJ.fr team and do some scouting for transfers. All the Time Trial events are now out of the way so i thought it a good time to review how FDJ has been getting on at the Worlds so far.
Things began with the Team Time Trial and we had sent a solid squad along. We lacked a real big powerhouse or two and it showed as the boys finished 14th. Dissapointing as we thought a Top10 might have been possible and we were also below teams like Lampre and Euskaltel who aren't known for the TT skills. On the plus side we did beat Europcar and finished comfortably ahead of the PCT teams we'll be up against next season.
The U23 event. Le Bon held the top spot for a large chunk of the day thanks to his early start slot. Continuing his good season he finished 8th as evidence of his continued improvements. The other French riders de la Montagne and Favre finished 5th and 11th respectively. A very promising showing from the national team. This event also saw Cervero back on the road in his final races as an FDJ contracted rider. 35th place just more good reason why we are letting him go.
While the big trio battled out for the Elite title Chavanel slipped into a strong 5th place finish. Peraud was 21st amongst good company. Our own Roy was down in 31st, below expectation but still a decent effort nonetheless. France again showing well as a nation.

Just a quick update following the U23 RR. Our own Demare finished a surprisingly strong 15th place. He did a lot of good work for the national team and really showed some serious progression. Arnaud is a great rider and we are lucky to have him.
The teams top performer though was Delfi Cervero. The prevrious management had a strained relationship with him due to a lack of results. But his 7th place and attacking race is a sign he has some ability. It was great to have an FDJ rider inside the Top10.
Peter Pal was also excellent finishing 18th. He put down some solid work early on in chasing the breakaway and rounded off a strong day with that good finish. I wish i could work with him next season and he's wished the best of luck.
Our other involved riders were Elissonde and Le Bon. Both did their team jobs well and i was happy with their performances. Finally one of our new signings Bousche was also out there and he finished the race, which was all i expected from the young sprinter.

Delfi at the Worlds
I have just got back from Firenze, where I got an amazing 7th place in the U23 World Championship Road Race. It was a great experience to represent Costa Rica, even if I was the sole representative. After what many regard as a disappointing season, I am happy with 7th, but even happier with the way I raced.
Back in Liège I barely did anything all race and then scraped 10th, I was determined to aim higher this time. I tried everything I could to give my fans something to celebrate but it was not to be. In the end, despite attacking all the way through, I came 7th, which is not too bad for my first year at the top. Hopefully in the years to come I can manage more, maybe even in the Elite Road Race.
However, the Worlds also brings the season to an end, although for me it ended a long time ago. That means the next time you see me won't be in an FDJ kit, or a Movistar one as I sported for the Worlds, but in an Androni jersey. Hopefully that will be a change for the better, and while this season has had its ups and downs, I will miss the fun I had in the team early on in the season. Wish me luck for 2014.
Delfi

With the conclusion of Paris-Tours the season is finished. We wrap it up with relegation but the season had its good moments. The team took stage wins in both the Giro and Tour and we came very close in the Vuelta. Pal was strong and consistent in Flanders capped with 4th in Roubaix. Le Bon finished 2nd in Eneco and our riders showed themselves well at the Worlds. It was a mixed bag of a season.
Now i am here to take over as General Manager. There will be a lot of changes over the transfer period as we look to rebuild and refocus as part of the PCT. For now i just want to thank everyone associated with the team for their hard work this year.

Erik Bousche: 2014, Here we come!
Bonjour All,
It is Erik here and I have to say I can't wait to ride for the FDJ team next season. being in the Pro-Continental Division should be good for both me and the team because it allows us young guys to develop while still being helpful and allows the rebuild which the team is going under. I feel honoured to be part of this project and know that I am not a leader but I hope to improve during the off season, train and return to the road a better rider. I already know my role will be a domestique and a part of the lead out train which I do not mind. I mean I am only 18 at the moment anyway.
I look forward to riding under the management of Faye Marcus. I have heard she has a daughter who is a cyclist herself and quite pretty but I must focus on my cycling and I will. I am sure Faye will do a great job of getting the team back up to the World Tour where it belongs.
See you all soon,
Erik

Hello.
The Offseason is now in full swing and our riders are off focusing on their winter training. Reports suggest good early progress from Arnaud Demare and Kenny Elissonde. Arnaud is putting in the miles to build up his abilities in the long races whilst Kenny has been high in the mountains working on his climbing techniques. The rest of the guys are also hard at work and will be stronger next season.
Well not all of the guys. With relegation comes a reduced budget and we will have to reduce our squad size. Hard choices have been made behind the scenes and we will not be offering new contracts to the following riders: Arnold Jeanneson, Mikel Delage, Benoit Vaugrenard, Pierrick Fedrigo, Francis Mourey, Murilo Fischer, William Bonnet, Sandy Casar, Laurent Pichon, Anthony Geslin, Dominique Rollin, David Boucher, Laurent Mangel, Cedric Pineau, Emilien Viennet and Arnaud Courteille.
The other 12 riders will all be kept on board through the renewals process. Once the Transfer period opens we will be selling Thibaut Pinot who massively disappointed this season. The talented Frenchman should fetch a good price on the market. This will leave us with 15 riders plus anyone we bring in through transfers. It's a big restructure but one that the team really needs to undergo.
