Just a standout performance. And it doesn't have to necessarily be a top result, it could be an amazing breakaway attempt as well. It doesn't actually matter if you even like the rider, just the performance is important.

Great. Only a few people have voted so far and we have a runaway leader. The battle for second is literally anybody's though.
I should just put this though, you can't vote for your own riders or a custom rider in your team. Stop being biased. 
Also, it's the specific performance I want so don't just put a name, give me the race as well.
EDIT: It's only open to custom riders. But I thought that was obvious.

he is in the top 100 of the rider ranking, over a 100 points
most (higher) custom riders I can't vote for (either own team or Jesleyh's rider), or riders I have never heard about

After receiving votes from nine people, with eleven unique nominations (as well as a slightly more abstract vote ) the first "Most EPIC Performance Award" of the 2013 season has a clear winner. With 19 points, a whole 8 clear of second place, the award is given to...

Thomas Hinault - Critérium International
Not a particularly surprising result given the way that the 21 year old Frenchman destroyed the opposition in Corsica but with four people rating this as the best performance, it's clear that he made a lasting impact on the fans.

Willem Brouwer - La Tropicale Amissa Bongo
Perhaps slightly more surprising given the stature of the race, the opposition he was up against and the fact that it was raced over three months ago, young Dutchman Brouwer takes second with 11 points. Despite only winning the first stage, he dominated the race and took the GC comfortably. Two people thought this was the best performance of the season.
And picking up the bronze medal for third is...

Erik McDermott - Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
Rounding out the inaugural podium is Saxo Bank's McDermott, who picked up 6 points in the voting. Incredibly, he only squeezed into third besause the last voter gave him the full three points. Omloop was a superb race for the young Dane as he followed Boonen over the line to claim second on his cobbles debut.

Well what can i say! That 3rd stage of the Crit Int is just perfect for me, loads of climbing and not much else. There was a lot of importance on that race as i had to prove i was competitive following the poor start to the season i had. The other teams made a real race of it behind and meant i had to push all the way, it wasn't a simple ride at all!
Thanks for the award and it will take place on the shelf with pride. Now i will be back again for sure to win more of these awards, perhaps even after winning Le Tour!

Continental Championships
Individual Time Trial
During the next week, the eyes of the cycling world are focused on the inaugural Continental Championships, with six races to decide the best rider in two disciplines. First up was the time trial and a chance for the chrono men to add a prestigious new title to their palmares.
The first race saw those from Asia, Africa and Oceania take to the start ramp to decide who is the best against the clock. Pre-race favourite Kim Po-Ding rode around with the North Korean Foreign Minister in the car behind him, shouting into his megaphone about bringing glory to his nation. As he had no real competition, his car was giving him time splits against what his Glorious Leader had done on this course last year. Unfortunately, Po-Ding could get nowhere near Kim-Jong's time but took the win here by 49 seconds from Dennis, with Rogers in third. Evans finished in a more or less expected seventh, a long way off the win though.

After that came the one we had been waiting for, the Pan-American Championships. With four strong TT men in the team, we hoped for some top results, especially from Phinney and Van Garderen, who were overwhelming favourites on the day.
And sure enough, the two young Americans didn't disappoint, as they blitzed the rest, earning the team a 1-2 finish. However, not many people expected Tejay to beat Phinney by nearly a minute but that's exactly what he did. Amador was a distant third, with Lewis missing out on an all-BMC podium by just ten seconds in sixth. Our fourth rider, Bookwalter, just missed out on the top ten.

Finally, the Europeans had their chance to ride the course. Of course this race contained all of the big names of time trialling, with Martin, Cancellara and Wiggins the pre-race favourites. However, what followed was incredible as Wiggo annihilated everyone, even the World Champion Martin, to win the title by well over a minute. Stunning performance! Froome just nipped ahead of Martin as well to make it a British 1-2, with the German machine, Cancellara and Boasson Hagen the only others inside two minutes of Wiggins. Pinotti was BMC's best finisher in 23rd, an astounding three minutes behind Wiggins!

Continental Championships
Road Race
After the time trials, focus switched to the three road races as we sought to find three champions on the road.
The order was the same as the TTs with the first race being the "Aufrasian" Championships. Evans was BMC's only rider present here and continued his woeful season by crashing 60 kilometres from the finish. He got back up but he was well out of contention and battled back to finish 14th, a quite incredible seven minutes behind the winner, Gerrans. The Orica rider added another title to his palmares as he outpunched Sky's Richie Porte, with Kenyan Sithembile winning the sprint for bronze.

After that, attention was switched back to the Americas, with BMC having six riders on the startline, all of whom were American. Powers was the star of the day from the team's point of view, getting into the break of the day and hanging on to finish ahead of the main bunch. Unfortunately, nine riders had attacked from the peloton, all of whom would beat Powers, plus his four breakaway companions, giving Jeremy 14th place, the same as Evans the day before.
Van Garderen and Lewis both finished in the "peloton", thirteen minutes behind the winner, Betancur, having been unable to follow the earlier attacks with a team mate up the road.

Finally, the Europeans lit up the course with what was, by all accounts, the race of the week. With nearly 200 riders starting, it was always going to be a hard day. A massive breakaway went up the road, with no BMC rider in there as we looked to control the race behind. As it happened, that was unnecessary with Valverde in a very aggressive mood, meaning Gilbert had to keep following him.
With all of the favourites isolated, it was a case of every man for himself in the final few kilometres and, as the lead group hit the Cauberg for the final time, Gilbert followed Valverde and Cancellara as they left the rest behind.
The Spaniard had used too much energy and had to settle for third but the battle for the win was still very much on. Gilbert's kick gave him an advantage heading into the final kilometre but as the road flattened, Cancellara's power and unbeatable stamina saw him reel Philippe back and then pip the Belgian in the final metres. Agonising for him and the team but at least he still has the rainbow stripes for comfort.

After a hard Volta a Catalunya, Jordan Lewis definitely understands a little bit more what it takes to win a top level stage race - recovery. When we first signed Jordan, he certainly found it a struggle to be on top form the day after a big mountain stage. But with the excellent training he is receiving now as well as his own commitment to improve, Jordan's powers of recovery are now just that little bit better and we hope to see this improvement continue, with the Tour de France not too far away.
