Disappointing for Swift not to build on his first win, with two seconds and a third. Consistent rankings point scoring plus the points jersey is alright though.

But a terrible AI on that final stage. 5th for Einsle is nice, a shame he had previously lost time. Would have preferred to see a true fight amongst the favourites though, which the game decided not to provide here, despite the strong field. But hey, nothing wrong with a bit of unpredictability. Perhaps even realism that the biggest names did not win the first post-Tour stage race.

Massive mistake to let that break go, was worried the minute I saw riders that close on GC in the move. Cost TVG two places and that's a serious blow for us.

@SN

Do you have the points calculator for this season somewhere, and can upload it for me here? I can't seem to find it, and I only have the 2011 one on my computer.

It seems that Rowe can only ever perform when he's following Swifty...

Thanks SN. Can't believe I didn't see that one Smile

I can see it's quite the benefit to have a young rider performing well. Perhaps I should try to focus more on top young riders and Team GC in the future, as there is a decent amount of "free points" there. I guess Santander could have scored a significantly higher amount by using their top riders more differently.

Oh well, another thing to consider in the next transferwindow Smile

Oh look, Berthou's anual "unexpected win from a breakaway". This guy has to be the weakest rider to have multiple wins in the PT. I'm gonna miss him next year when he starts declining. He was always money in these types of breakaways even though the opponents where always stronger riders.

And at least Bakelants tried this time. 5th is not so bad. I was actually fearing a worse performance.

Bring on the Flat Classic!

Team Rankings Update

Wikipedia move back into the lead, and open up a 200 point lead. Pearl had a similar scoring race to remain well in the mix.

A surprise GC victory sees UBS leap up 4 positions. The middle section of the table is very close, and some unexpected big scores could make all the difference.

It was a bad race for Puma-SAP, as they are now nearly 400 points from safety - but B&O didn't exactly score big, and probably have less remaining opportunities to do so than Puma have. Pendleton's took an important step up the table in passing B&O, while an unexpected 2nd for Castroviejo relieves some of the pressure 1t4i will be placing on Gesink.

This was the last race without an 80+ leader for us, so I'm still fairly optimistic.
The only thing that really changed is that I can focus on B&O now as most other "strugglers" had a really good race.

Especially the sprint classics are really important, with B&O completely relying on breakaways there and a good chance for a decent leadout by us, we can easily overturn the deficit in these three alone.

That was a horrible race for us. Mainly my mistake, I guess, as Samuel Dumoulin isn´t capable rider to be first man in our sprint train.

I moved closer to the top 10 with that race. I'm looking forward to see if we can climb higher or settle for that poor season result we are set for at the moment. It was very positive that we outscored all the teams below us, and also the three teams just ahead of us.

Top 5 seems out of the question, but I hope to be inside the top 10 - And eventhough Santander is leading by 5-600 points on us, I suspect that we should be gaining somewhat 50-200 points regularly on them from here on.

Milka, UBS and Aker are probably all too strong for me to fight them off, but it will be interesting to see if we can go better than Pokerstars, Simply Red Bull, Wiggle and Lotto in the end.

5th was my season goal. I have to adjust that to 8th at this point.
