Our main objective is to get through to tomorrow's stage, we may attack on the bump 50km's to go to put the sprinters in difficulty.
Kostyuk takes the bonification seconds ahead of Cabedo and Chavanel.
An 8 man group has 1'10" on the peleton Vanmarke and Bak are on this group.
It is now a 12 man group as Zabriskie and Maaskant join the group they have 2'52" on the peleton with 125km's to go Sanz of Movistar is the best placed rider just 45 second back on GC so we have to keep him in check.
We have just heard Arnaud Demare has had to abondon.
75km's to go and the break is comming down fast 6'56" now. Their is 5km's till the final Intermediate sprint.
Bagdonas, Sanz and Cabedo the top 3 for the final Intemediate sprint.
Bak, Ferrari and Bagdonas take the KOTM points. 57km's to go and the gap is really comming down 5'17", the sprinter teams no their is not much chances so they have to bring it back.
2'34" now with 30km's to go.
Eisel has fell in these trenchorous conditions, not good for MSR.
1'35" with 20km's to go and OPQS are really taking this up for Cavendish.
11km's to go and the break is caught.
4km's left and Orica GreenEdge are really taking this up, they have Sagan on Goss's wheel.
Amazingly OPQS are not working for World Champion Cavendish or he has bad fitness, as he is not even contesting the sprint.
Goss goes for it with Sagan on his wheel.
Sagan wins, Freire 2nd.
And a photo finish for 3rd, Ciolek takes it.

Today is surely where time gaps will be made, we finish on the climb of Arrate

Iglinsky Anton Vanendert
Spoiler
Guys im gonna put all the KOTM results in a 1 spoiler box because their is so many KOTM sprints in Pais Basque is that ok? Then I can just screenshot the break and the last 20 km, stage winner etc, it will cut down my time. Because I can just pause at the end of the stage and look who won the KOTM, because I have to keep pausing lol. It will speed things up that's all
We have attacks from the off at the start.
This is the BOTD, 13 riders led by J.Hernandez who is in yet another breakaway. Levi Leipheimer also in this group.
5 minutes is the gap with 85 kms to go.
What a surprise this is, with 67 kms to go 2 AG2R riders Pozzovivo and Gadret are on the attack with Pinot, surely they will not be allowed to get away. Pinot is 2'23" down on GC but the AG2R duo are only 40 seconds down.
JVDB is also going for glory today.
This is the Pinot group they are the 2nd group on the road 1'22" behind the breakaway and 1'57" ahead of the group JVDB and TJVG and and the Peleton are 41 seconds behind JVDB group. We had a lot of our riders caught out with bad positioning, only Iglinsky and Kessiakoff in the Peleton.
This is something you don't see everyday, L.Leipheimer showing a good kick lol he wins the Intermediate sprint ahead of Kiryienka.
The Peleton is 2'24" behind Leipheimer and Kiryienka they have 39 seconds on Hernandez and the Pinot group is a further 30 seconds back. 22 kms to go.
Gadret has nearly caught the 2 in front the Peleton is 1'50" behind.
With 12 kms to go the catch as been made its now a 5 man leading group. Gadret, Pozzovivo, Pinot, Leipheimer and Kiryienka. 1'38" to the main group which is down to 30 riders we have Iglinsky in this group.
Gadret takes the Intermediate sprint on the bottom of Arrate.
We make sure Iglinsky is in a good position on the foot of Arrate, you can see the gap, can they hold on?
Schleck and Purito make viscious attacks and they are now with Gadret, we cant respond to that. We will make tempo.
Purito looks strong he is 28 seconds ahead of this Schleck group, Iglinsky is on the back.
Purito wins on Arrate.
Cunego 2nd F.Schleck 3rd.
Photo finish for 5th, Costa 5th, Iglinsky 6th and a great ride from this climbing sensation Thibaut Pinot been on the attack all day.
Top 10:
GC: Iglinsky a fine 5th we need more time on T.Martin though before ITT.
Well im really happy with that what a great stage.
Crap I just realised I dint pause and write all the KOTM results from that stage in a spoiler. Sorry guys i will do it from next stage.
We have some news on Vincenzo Nibali, he will ride the Tour de Romandie instead of Trentino and LBL. He will not be in with a great chance of winning Romandie though as since MSR he as not raced. As he as been at altitude with a few of the Giro squad, Agnoli and Kangert will join up after stage 5 they will abandon before the ITT. Vino still really wants Nibali at the TDF but we cant go back now we have told him we wont be in great shape to do a good result after the Giro.Edited by atlanta on 16-06-2013 07:53
At nearly 250km's today is a great stage for Nibali we climb the Passo Lanciano and finish on the steep ramp into Chieti. Nibali is 1'48" down on GC after our poor TTT so we will be cautious, as tommorow is the MTF up the Prato di Tivo but we will see weather we can risk going all out today or just stay Tranquillo.
The Favourites:
Nibali Rodriguez F.Schleck
Scarponi Hesjedal Van den Broeck
Moreno Sagan Kreuziger
???
Iglinsky Costa Gasparotto Henao

Spoiler
Hello
Spilak and Siutsou are in the BOTD, 190km's to go and the break has 6'42" and rising.
Miholjevic, Cattaneo and Spilak are the top 3 through the KOTM banner.
Cattaneo takes the Intermediate sprint ahead of Feillu and Siutsou.
100km's to go and the break is 8'30" ahead
The break has hit the lower slopes of the Passo Lanciano they are over 5 minutes ahead of the peleton and they have 4'30" on a 2 man group who just attacked consisting of De Gendt and Sarmiento.
We may see alot more of this guy in the high mountains in the future, Cattaneo wins the KOTM points on the Passo Lanciano. They only have 42 seconds on the main bunch though, Tiralongo is protecting Nibali, this stage is definatly for the climbers as Iglinsky was really blowing hard staying in this group and Gasparotto was out the backdoor on the early slopes.
Cattaneo is caught 37km's to the end Tiralongo is taking a great well earned break on this downhill. Nibali is just maintaining position.
Yet another Sky classic's rider falling before MSR, Boasson Hagen this time.
Schleck, Pelizotti and Purito the top 3 at the Intermediate sprint so 3 handy seconds for Schleck.
Schleck takes the KOTM points ahead of Pellizotti and Rodriguez, 1.2km's to go.
Schleck takes it.
Rodriguez 2nd and an excellent 3rd for Pellizotti.
Nibali 4th he did too much work he was superiour on the downhill so i should have attacked, but at least he gaps Scarponi who is ahead on GC.
And in last place is Theo Bos more than 58 minutes behind, i think he will get excluded.
Top 10: Tiralongo 16th 4'36" down.
GC:
I forgot to export full results guys, i will do them on every hilly Mnt stage in future sorry.
A dream would be to win a stage Brajkovic is in great shape, he is 9th in GC, 42 seconds off a podium spot.
The Favourites:
Wiggins S.Sanchez Froome Evans
S.Sanchez Brajkovic Gesink A.Schleck
This man has had a poor Paris Nice lying in 63rd place, this is good terrain for Wiggins today.
Wiggins is 4 seconds ahead through the first Intermediate, Taaramae has the fastest time.
Wiggins is the new leader 2 seconds faster.
Can the World ITT Champion have a say today?
Martin is 10 seconds down on the first split.
The reigning TDF champion Cadel Evans starts his ride.
Tony Martin finishes 18 seconds behind Bradley Wiggins.
Come on Brajkovic GO GO GO.
Froome is on the lower slopes he is in 11th place 8 second behind Brajkovic on GC.
Menchov is 5 seconds behind Wiggins.
Evans is 2 seconds ahead of Wiggins at the split
Evans is the new leader he goes 7 seconds faster than Wiggins
We have a new leader Froome has just smashed Evans time he goes 6 seconds faster 21'33"
Brajkovic finishes 8th 25 seconds behind Froome
Valverde is 3 seconds behind Froome through the first split.
Amazingly Valverde and Froome have the same time, we await clarification.
Cunego has the same time as Froome through the first split, Brajkovic will not be moving up today.
Cunego is the new leader, 3 seconds clear of Froome.
Cunego wins the stage an amazing ride, S.Sanchez finished 6 seconds slower, and race leader L.L.S finished 14 seconds back and in doing so wins Paris Nice.
Brajkovic finishes 2 seconds behind Schleck so they are dead level, a top 10 is at stake here.
Top 10: Brajkovic 14th 29 seconds down.
GC: We take 9th ahead of Schleck, Visconti is the big loser he lost his place in the top 10.
Points: How close lol

Conclusion
Not the best Paris Nice, the stage to Mende really hurt Brajkovic's GC hopes but we are still learning, 9th in GC is a good result all considering. I thought for a moment we were out of the top 10, we will next see Brajkovic in Catalunya with Guardini, A mention to Guardini who despite not getting his first win he really is commited to the cause and we hope it is not two long before he wins a stage. L.L.S was just too strong he already has 8th place in the Tour Down Under so he has many race days in his legs.

Top 10:
GC: With only 1 road stage and 1 ITT, i think the podium will be the maximum, only 2 seconds to 4th place aswell. I dont think it is possible to take even a min in a 9km ITT.

What a great stage today 3 riders in top 10 and assured of the KOTM jersey and 1stage win. So we can be happy with the form before MSR. Still we want a podium from this race Nibali will need 8 seconds to beat Pelliizotti, and to not lose more than 2 seconds to Scarponi.
Milan – San Remo, "The Spring classic", is an annual cycle race between Milan and Sanremo. It is the longest professional one-day race at 298 km. The first was in 1907, when Lucien Petit-Breton won. Today it is one of the 'Monuments' of European cycling, and results contribute towards the UCI World Ranking; until 2007 it was part of the UCI ProTour. From 1999 to 2005, a women's race, the Primavera Rosa was organised alongside the men's but at a shorter distance.
Milan – San Remo is often called the sprinters' classic while its sister Italian race the Giro di Lombardia held in autumn is the climbers' classic.
In the early years the main difficulty was the Passo del Turchino, but when cycling became more professional the climb was too far from the finish to be decisive. In 1960 the Poggio, a few kilometres before the finish, was introduced. In 1982 the Cipressa, near Imperia was added. The other hills are the 'capi', the Capo Mele, Capo Berta and Capo Cervo. From 2008 on the organisers added 'Le Manie' as well, between the Turchino and the 'capi'. The 'Turchino' and the 'Manie' are longer climbs, while 'capi', Cipressa and Poggio are rather short. The climbs are neither steep nor long for professional cyclists. As such, many sprinters are capable of keeping with the main peloton on these climbs, and therefore the race most often ends in a mass sprint.
The most successful rider was Eddy Merckx; he won seven times (record of victories in one single classic race). In recent times, the most successful rider has been Erik Zabel who won four times and lost 2004 to Óscar Freire only because he lifted his arms to celebrate too early. It was the opening race of the UCI Road World Cup series until the series was replaced by the UCI ProTour in 2005.
Here it is MSR, is uppon us the first Monument of the season, We bring a really strong team, which will be led bye Vinchenzo Nibali. We of course want to win but to get a top 3-5 would be great.
The Favourites: Fabian Cancellara:
With his favourd terrain approaching can he win a 2nd La Primevara?
He as also had good results and with many race days in his legs, he is the bookies Favourite.
Tom Boonen:
So far a great season for Bonnen he is 2-0 v Cancellara in the classics does he go 3-0 in this Legends dual?.
Peter Sagan:
Is possibly the biggest talent in Cycling, for sure a rider we like very much, as for his chances well he is still young and although has the talent, can he manage the distance?
Phillipe Gilbert:
Can Gilbert win MSR, he has a good engine but how is the form?, he is yet two win MSR but this guy cleaned up in the Ardennes weak last year. He also has a new team so expect him to really try and win this.
Mark Cavendish:
The reigning World Champion, the fastest man in the world, winner of MSR in 2009, If he has the form in the hills he may be in with a chance, also has 2 stage wins in the TDU so he is looking to peak here.
Alessandro Ballan:
With a best result of 4th, can Ballan a former WC finally crack the podium, he has a very strong team and if they play their cards right they will go close.
Matthew Goss:
The Reigning MSR winner, not as fast as Cavendish, but climbs hills better and can follow a selection bye the Favs if he has two.
Juan Antonio Flecha:
He is one of the best Classics riders in the Peleton, but lacks the real big wins, maybe this time he gets it?
Edvald Boasson Hagen:
A real star rider who looks to win his first Monument, winner of the 2009 Gent - Wevelgem
Vincenzo Nibali
Thor Hushovd
Sylvain Chavanel
Outsiders:
Frank Schleck
Enrico Gasparotto
Maxim Iglinsky
Andre Greipel
Filippo Pozzato
We are underway in the San Remo classic.
Moreno of Katusha is leading a 4 man break 290 kms to go and they have 2 minutes.
Cherel, Herrada and Scarponi join the escapee's.
230 kms to go and the gap is 2'20".
210 kms to go and the Peleton are having none of that and bring the group back.

Gasparotto has been caught out on Le Manie.
Bad luck for Gilbert, puncture.
Wow this is a strong group on the attack, Spartacus, Flecha, Sagan and Vanmarke. They are 4'24" behind the break with 40kms to go.
We only have Iglinsky and Nibali in the main chasing group.
Group Cancellara caught, we are 1'55" behind the escapee's, the Cipessa is next.
Cancellara and Flecha are at it again, we cant follow because Iglinsky is fetching bottles for Nibali.
The Cancellara group is caught. 20 kms to go and just 1'45" seperates the break and the main chaser group, the Cipressa 4.6 kms, avg 4.5%.
Here is the Showdown on the Poggio, Nibali well up the front on this narrow climb, Iglinsky drifting off the back. The Poggio is 2.9 kms at and avg of 5.1%
We decide to attack as the pace is low Cavendish is on the front lmao. Eisel and Ballan respond.
Just 4 kms to go for the break and they are 55 seconds ahead of Nibali, Ballan and Eisel. We have 37 seconds on the chasers.
The win of MSR is going to the break they are 41 seconds ahead of Balland and 50 ahead of group Nibali.
Daniel Oss the winner of MSR, Poels 2nd and Quinziato 3rd.
0.4 to go and Nibali is finishing strongest, the peleton are really closing fast.

Recap
5th is good but we should have took it up earlier as this could have been a win, because when we hit the Poggio Nibali had a lil gap to Cavendish but it was too early maybe we should have attacked th
Guys do you reckon i should send Nibali to Catalunya?, he has 16 race days, so he would be on 23 when he finishes, and as the Giro is 6 wks away he may be fatigued. Or i could ride Criterium International, so do you think have a rest and ride Trentino or Romandie before the Giro?. It's just i dont want him to go into the Vuelta with more than 45 race days.
It is a part of the UCI World Tour programme, ranking second behind the Vuelta a España in popularity for Spain. Due to its place in the riding calendar (after the Giro d'Italia), it was long viewed as an important Tour de France preparation race for cyclists. After the inauguration of the ProTour, the race moved to May, making it an alternative for the Giro. This didn't prove to be a successful change, and for the 2010 season, the race organisation announced a move to late March, the date formerly held by another Catalan stage race, the Setmana Catalana. The first edition was held in January and lasted for three days.
The overall winner receives a white and green striped jersey. It is one of 28 races that make up the UCI World Ranking calendar. There are also three other classifications. The winner of the points classification (sprints) wears a white jersey, a red jersey the winner of the mountain classification and the jersey of the Catalonia national cycling team is for the best classified Catalan. There is also a team classification.
The Volta a Catalunya is the fourth-oldest cycling stage race in the world (first time in 1911), only behind the Tour de France (1903), Tour of Belgium (1908) and the Giro d'Italia (1909). Only the amateur and sub-23 Volta a Tarragona (1908) is older than the Volta a Catalunya in Catalonia and the Iberian Peninsula.
Last years winner was Alberto Contador, although it has since been given to Michele Scarponi. Alberto Contador's results for 2011 have been taken away, expect Contador to be back racing at La Vuelta.
Our goal for Catalunya is stage wins, Guardini and Bozic for the sprints. We also have Brajkovic for GC. No ITT will make it tough but we still think a top 10 is possible.

@sutty
Thanks we for sure was happy i honestly think i could have won as Nibali really opend up a gap on dot on the Poggio but i went back because i dint want to burn my energy. The break was getting away because Cav was on the front lol if i ad went straight away i could have won. Sutty how do you think i should go into the Giro how many race days etc, he has 16 so far, Trentino would mean he would come out the Giro with 41 race days all being well, Or shall i do 3 ardennes and then Romandie.
A hilly stage today its downhill to the finish so we try and come out of the stage with minimum losses for Janez. Guardini will go in the break and try to take the Intermediate's.
This is the BOTD, we have Guardini in here, their is 120 kms to go and we need to survive the Mountain and then try and take the Intermediate sprints. It will be tough as it took ages to get a break too go. The climb is 9.1 km at 5.9%.
And as i say that we are caught on the lower slopes.
We get into another break, that was started bye Clement. 1 km till the KOTM and then downhill to the Intermediate, we have a minute on the Peleton.
Clement takes the KOTM points.
Jerome takes the Intermediate sprint ahead of Clement and Guardini. Guardini is cream crackerd.
80 kms to go and we have a 3 minute lead, 24 kms to the last Intermediate sprint if we survive i will drop back then to save ourself for tommorow.
We are joined bye Boivin just as the Intermediate is comming up, hope he does not contest.
Guardini takes it, 4 points from his troubles today
We drop back, their is 53 kms left and the break is 5'04", Dumoulin and Clarke bridged to the break.
And the final KOTM checkpoint is taken bye Dumoulin, the break has split up Dumoulin and Clarke lead the Peleton bye 2'14".
10 kms to go and the Boivin group is caught, just 1 group up the road 1'17" the gap.
Visconti and Schleck attack, Brajkovic is setting a strong tempo(85) before we hit the downhill the gap to the leaders is 1'03.
Visconti joins the leaders.
4 kms to go for Brajkovic and Pinot and we are not able to go with the punchy riders so we ride tempo, we are 30 seconds ahead of a 39 man group.
Cunego is on the attack 2.4 to go
And Cunego has this surely
Cunego, Visconti and Schleck the top 3.
Brajkovic takes 9th, great result for GC as 2 of the breakaway was in this group and they are bound to lose big time in the MTF.
