That was an awesome report Count, even including a link to one of my posts. Great effort by Devolder, really happy to see him at that level. Now if he could repeat such performance in the next mountain stage, the top 10 would definitely be ours, as he's a better TTer than most of those just behind him.

A pretty good performance from my lesser climbers, but a bit of a failure from Ardila, I would hope that he could stick with the leaders for longer, and be slightly higher in the overall. I will need a lot of luck on the last mountain stage.

Good stage, but Rein needs to get that leaders jersey before the final TT. I'd imagine with the leader bonus that whoever goes into the final TT leading will take the race.

Abal just rode his own race after missing Rein's move which hopefully will saved him some more energy for the 2nd mountain stage and the ITT. But it looks like he is locked into 5th place if nothing major happens on stage 6. Another Great report CA

Insane stage! Impressed that there were no time eliminations. I knew Kessiakoff wouldn't be up there after seeing the start list. At least the team is trying something, knowing that Kessiakoff isn't strong enough. Well written report, too!

A nice stage there - good to see that this race is really kicking off now - should be a close one up until the finish, though Kritsky is really showing his strength.

Pleased to see that Pozzovivo has a bit of form here. Think he's going to need to pull out a minute of so on Popo to get the podium...not sure he can get it. Fingers crossed for an AI fail that lets him go. |

Kritskiy is such a beast rider. Tinkoff on a roll of points here. |

The first move on the Cypress was way too aggressive. Though it led to a very agitated and captivating mountain stage, which unlike the odds was properly tackled. It's just a shame Plaza couldn't follow the right attack. Seeing him struggling to hold a top20 is very disappointed. Also both Keizer and Alarcon were far from what I had expected from them.
But now Kritskiy is being stunning this year. So far he's been magnificent here, it's hard to believe someone will dethrone him, but you never know with Taaramae just 21s away...
Enthusiastic report Count, a very good one.

I think some 45 seconds could be enough, the TT is not extremely long. But he is not getting it!

Nice result from Machado, I though he might have a shot on a hilly/sprint stage. Now to a very important stage.

I want more breakaways!!
Looking forward to the final showdown over the next two stages. Nicely poised for action.

I feel my team does a good job, just for my sprinter to hit the brakes

Another great stage for Metinvest, together with very nice report.
Brambilla with 2nd is fantastic, so it was good decision to not bring top sprinter here for us, our flat machine, usual lead-out man, got nice points instead.
And Dabrowski gaining all those mountain points is nice too, we are finally agressive this year. Of course not ignoring the first KOM would be even better and awarded with jersey.

I hope everyone enjoyed that report.
My favourite part is in the young rider results:
7 | Jens Keukeleire | Oz Cycling Project | + 19'51 (7) | 8 | Joseph Dombrowski | Team WWE | + 20'17 (8) |
Keukeleire: Future stage racing sensation?

Taking solace in the fact we weren't last
Still all to play for in the final ITT though, will be good to watch

Would have enjoyed your top-quality reports, if Rogers hadn't failed that hard Keukeleire should be a great hope for SotD now, yes
I'm happy with two things though:
1) that the mountain-stages played out that well. It's my favorite self-made race ever, so a boring play would have broken my heart
2) our flat-losers Ford/Olman survived this race, so we can at leasthope for some points in the ITT! Rogers, Ford and also Olman could score there. Dunno how much energy the latters lost here so far.

Yeah, an exciting mountain stage. Looks like it will be 5th for Abal after he over takes Alarcon in the ITT. And then I can say we beat Jose once again, such a great feeling after what happened last season.

Massive performance by Hasanovic, even if I'd rather he would drop to help Devolder, possibly that's asking too much for PCM. Great to see Devolder keeping 8th in GC, now crossing fingers to stay thereabouts after the ITT.
