I'm hoping that Kubica can hold on...but I don't think he will...

I didn't get to watch the race. In fact, I only watched the first lap, and the last 10 It didn't seem too interesting, though.
What happened to Lewis? |

Hamilton stalled at the start, dropped back to around 10th, then he drove into the back of Alonso and lost his front wing

Now, he's certainly being the rookie we expected him to be last season. |

speak for yourself
He is in a slump though. 4 podiums in his last 11 races.
And I love it when arrogant asses like him get their due
Pathetic how he was flipping Fisichella the middle finger because Fisichella didn't simply move over and let him past. He's turning into Alonso, basically

Meanwhile, Montagny was about to sign with Forsythe to drive in ChampCar next season. For his first days of practice last December or January he beat every one, including supposedly top ChampCar drivers.
Then ChampCar and IRL merged and Forsythe with who he had just signed decided not to follow the move, thus Montagny found himself unemployed.
He'll drive a Peugeot at Le Mans 24h.
Now he just joined A1GP in the French team with 2 GP to go. He got the fastest time after the third practice session, not even knowing the car.
When he was a test driver for Renault he owned Fisichella (2nd driver back then), when he was at Super Aguri he matched or beated Sato using only the former evolution of the car, then when he was at Toyota with a car that maybe wasn't fitting perfectly the rules, he owned both the drivers during Fridays sessions.
That guy is just jinxed, probably the fastest French driver for a very long while, but always unable to get a driving wheel in a good team. |

How old is he?
He may still have time to get a good team and do well

30 I think. He'd better find a good team within one or two years, otherwise it'll be too late for him. |

I thought he'd be younger than that, so yes, he must find a team quickly if he wants to make an impact

which means nothing. if he does well in qualifying and the race, that'll be a different story. Won't be a great sign, considering most A1GP drivers aren't that good, but it'll still be a decent sign. The main reason why a good result won't be much of a sign is that the french team is a prodrive subsidiary. they (and the swiss and new zealand teams) have the obligation of being far, far ahead of the field, considering their budgets.
I remember Bryan Herta coming in at Laguna Seca and blitzing the field in practice. He qualified way down the field and sucked in the race. as would be expected.

It's testing. nobody "owns" anyone. Wurz is by far the best test driver around right now. Will you put him in a race car? I won't.

The only time they used different versions of the car was at Hockenheim.
Out of 7 races, he only finished one and was beaten by Sato.
In qualifying he beat Sato once out of 7 attempts (at the French GP. surprise surprise )
I really don't see how he matched, much less beat Sato.

Friday sessions mean nothing. The test driver was in charge of finding the limits of the car and trying radical things with the setup, while the race drivers concentrated on race setup.

He doesn't have results that merit a great drive, it's that simple. As for fastest french driver for a long time, there's a bucketload of names I can think of in a few seconds.
You really have quite a bloated opinion of Montagny

It IS too late for him.

I think you're just pissed off because there are no Portuguese drivers as good as Montagny

you know better than to think of me as chauvinistic.
Anyway, I have Monteiro at about the same level as Montagny. Albuquerque will probably be much better than that in the short term (still nowhere near F1 quality though)

except Parente isn't anything special.
also, Addy, if I was indeed pissed about that, I'd never say that there are a bunch of french drivers better than Montagny (and yes, I know you were joking)

Briatore doesn't have the same opinion as you.
