Tour Mediterraneen
It is a short tour , 4 stages , 2 of them are flat , 1 is an ITT and the last one is an uphill finish on Mont Faron . This route suits perfectly for Zdenek Stybar who whill be our leader . We all hope he can repeat his succes from Etoile de Besseges !
Opponents
***Sandy Casar , Kanstantin Siutsou , Lars Peter Nordhaug
**Fabio Duarte , Wout Poels , Eros Cappechi
*Cristophe Le Mevel , Sylvester Szmyd , Laurens Ten Dam
Line-up
Stage 1
It is a flat sprint that will probably end up in a mass sprint . A break-away was fromed but their maximum lead was of 3 minutes . Blanco , but mostly Saxo , reeled in the break-away with almost 10 kilomters to go . Our sprinter , Fenn , decided to follow the main favourite , Danielle Bennati .
But after the break-away was caught no team wanted to take the responsability of relay . We were riding at 30 km/h and Kluge from NetApp wanted to take advantage of it and launched his sprint with almost 3 kilometers to go . He created a 25" gap . Jungles decied to follow him .
But immediately after Bennati came and took the win . HOW on Earth can Fenn pass the others in front of him ????

Stage 2
A pretty long , 24 km ITT , that will have a big impact on the GC of this Tour . Thankfully , Stybar is stronger than most of his opponents , and the last kilometers on a 10% slope are an advantage for him .
Here is Zdenek with 20 kilometers to go . We found out that his team-mate Rabon set the fastest time , beating the Brittish champion Dowsett with 10 seconds . Now 37' 22" is the fastest time .
He is 2 seconds faster than Rabon at the time check before the climb . Lets see how he handles the 10% slopes of Mont Saint Claire .
He has only 1 km left and almost catches a rider who started before him .
The time : 37' 07" = 1st place !!! There was no other rider left to beat his time !

A very good stage for us . We took the win and also had 3 riders in Top 10 ! After an amazing TT in Etoile de Besseges , which broght him the overall victory , Stybar proves again how well he does against the clock , especially if there is a climb on the route . Tomorrow we hope that we will defend his Leader's Jersey , Jungels is only 2 seconds behind us !

sutty68 , Ian thanks for the support !
Stage 3
The organisers clasified the stage as being flat , but with 4 climbs on the route , 3 of them in the last 50 kilometers , I can tell that we will see many attacks . But our team is prepared to defend Stybar's Jersey .
A 5-man break-away was formed , including Valls Ferri , who wears the KOM Jersey . His missions is simple : collect as many points as possible .
On the last climb of the day Lars Peter Nordhaug and Bob Jungles made their move , but we had 3 riders in front around Stybar . Pineau , Meersman and Fenn worked to catch the escapees .
On the downhill a group of 8 riders created a gap . Bakelants , Dupont and Duarte were joined by Meersman , Fenn and the Leader of the race Zdenek Stybar .
The other riders from the first group gave up and decided to wait for the peloton to catch them , but we had 3 riders so we kept going . As Meersman finished his job it was now up to Fenn and Stybar . Sky was doing everything to catch us .
And it is a double for Omega Pharma !!!

We really needed the bonification seconds that Stybar took today because tomorrow it's the queen stage , uphill finish , and there some really strong climbers who can drop Stybar tomorrow .

Stage 4
Only 145 kilometers , but the last 20 are very difficult with 2 climbs on the route and an uphill finish on Mont Faron . Let's hope that Stybar can defend his lead in the GC .
Nothing important happened on the first climb , except the fact that the break-away was caught . Pineau did a very good job and many riders were dropped . it will all be decided on Mont Faron . As Rabon and Meersman set the pace for Stybar at the start of the climb a group of riders decided to make a move : Landa , Poels , L.P.Nordhaug , Szymd , Siutsou and Le Mevel .
With 2 kilomers to go Siutsou , Le Mevel and Meersman were dropped and Casar joined their group attacking from the peloton . In the front there were Poels , Nordhaug and Stybar.
He was exhuated , but losing time was not an option !
With 800 meters to go Casar was coming fast from behind , as Poels and Nordhaug launched the final sprint . Stybar managed to keep their wheel .
AND he stuns everybody taking the stage win !!! What a display of power and intelligence !

krisa , he is indeed a beast !
Jackstar22 Thanks ! What is amazing is that 1 win is in a TT , 1 is on a flat stage and 1 is uphill . This shows show strong and talentaed he is , winning on all types of terrains !
After winning 2 tours I am seriously thinking to take him in TDF . He was supposed to lead us in Tour de Pologne , where he has a chance at the GC . I know it's a long way until July bur what do you think about it ?

Wow, nice result again. This starting to get more and more impressive.
BTW: just take Stybar to Poland and take a team based on Cav to the tour.

sutty68 He is indeed on fire , now 1st in number of victories ranking - 6 in only 2 weeks of racing
Thanks Selwink . Well I am definitely going to make a team focused around Cav , but I think Stybar can get a place in this team !
Thank you Miguel98 ! But it's normal , we expected that in February and March we get lots of wins , becuase many of our good riders peak in this period and also the profiles of the stages suit us - once the mountains will appear don't expect to do well !
Thanks Ian ! You are very good at predicting results
Important announcement
After a little chat with our riders , about their schedules and their personal goals , we made a list of 11 riders to peak in July . Before Dauphine we will choose 9 of them to participate in TDF , and the other 2 will , most likely , go in Pologne .
Mark | Cavendish | Sylvain | Chavanel | Tony | Martin | Andrew | Fenn | Zdenek | Stybar | Kristof | Vandewalle | Bert | Grabsch | Dries | Devenyns | Kevin | De Weert | Gert | Steegmans | Tom | Boonen |
Our team had last season 13 wins by the end of February . At the moment we have 11 (6- Stybar , 4- Cavendish , 1-Fenn).We stil have to race Veulta Algarve , Tour of Oman , La Drome Classic , Omloop Het , Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne and Le Samyn . I really want to pass the 15-wins mark by the end of the month .
