At least a 3rd and 7th position if nothing happens at the last stage.
I guess my squads for each of the 3 races are bad, should have gotten here the better domestiques, Catalunya a "I don't care" one and Paris-Nice very much the same.
If you get 3rd and 7th here, among with a decent Paris-Nice result then you have been doing much better than pretty much anyone else in the trio-combination here.
I have Ulissi doing nothing here, my sprinters (and only chances for succes) crashing out of the Paris-Nice and hopefully, but unlikely some succes in Catalunya.

If this is what racing in the hills is going to be like throughout, it's going to be a looong season for Pearl Adidas.
Not only for Pearl. I'm just glad I diversified into cobbles and time trials a bit as well this season.
That was, simply put, an awfully boring stage for GC.
Great reporting as always though. I am very appreciative of the effort the reporters all put in. Many thanks (now just make Ponzi win a few races!!) |

I guess 22nd for Guldhammer is not all that bad.

We're looking to relegate if every hilly stage race is going to be a lottery like this. Nevertheless, another great report!
And a very nice result from Topchanyuk, hopefully that stage was a sign of his racing style, as he certainly is strong enough to make an impact in tough stage races, through breakaway(s).
Great win for Pendleton's. Looking forward to that final stage now, and a final battle between Boonen and Bennati, and maybe Bewley. The Italian must be looking for revenge. |

A shame Sagan lost so much time to Chieti. He has performed great in this race anyway, though.
I'll cross my fingers for a surprise by Corioni on the last stage to finish off this great race.

Sorry I didn't get a better picture of the 'incident' in stage seven and also sorry to those managers involved.

Wow. Terrible stuff to lose a race (or a good GC placing) this way.

Great reports Smowz!
Too bad a crash in the final stage ruined many people's GC.
Decent race for 1t4i overall. Too bad Sinkeldam screwed things up in the 3rd stage. Otherwise the KoM jersey would have been his.

Wow, I think it is impossible for Cunego to lose, if he doesn't win the PCM gods step in and hurt his opponents
Rin will be happy, but SN and P3druh wont... |

That's a real bummer, what a way to lose the race.

Horrible scenario that is.. feel sorry for all involved.
But nice to see Bobridge scoring some points for SBR here.

Overall much better for me in the end - stage win, 7th and 16th should be helpful points in the fight for survival. |

Bobridge did a nice performance here, forgetting the fortune to move up places on the last day he had a decent race. What I wanted to see was some attacking which he did on the decisive days. Who knows he may pull a Sagan in a stage race sometime this year?

Nothing unexpected from Bennati in the last stage, I can't and don't even want to find a rational reason, let's just move on.
Far more to lose in Köln though.

Argh. I wasn't hit here, but that is no way to finish off the race. I'm sorry for those hit hard here. Even in a finish like this Ulissi can't even manager to really compete so we have to accept that 9th is by far the best possible outcome that we could get from this race. Congrats to Cunego with yet another win, although this one was not the best looking of them all... Interesting for the team though. They seem to be moving away from the relegation issue with some style.

Unfortunately it wasnt possible to fix the narrow roads on this Tirreno stage, but at least they only came at the finish.
A great supporting effort from the squad, with Paterski doing brilliantly to last right up to the final kilometre, and a good result for Schleck to only lose out to Bakelandts and Cunego on bonus seconds.
Plus, very good to see a hilly stage turn out as it should!
I think this maybe can have a connection? Narrow roads = at least believeable result of the hilly stage, while getting rid of all the narrow roads on purpose + stupid hilly AI = strange results and 30-50 riders coming together to the line at 200+ kilometres stage. Hard to say which is worse.
Favourites battling for the stage and the weak 'Hoffman-style' riders being dropped. Both would have happened on that stage without the narrow ending
