Lotto have normally been strong in Australia. Greipel has big chances to take the win tomorrow, if everything follows their plan.
I very much doubt Greipel will win tomorrow.
(or anyone else, because the first stage is Tuesday)

That was predictable, wasn't it ?
In other news, Dennis ruled out of TdU with viral infection. Quite a shame.

Heh, a news article on this website: https://wwos.ninemsn.com
has Andrea Guardini as a contender to win the TDU alongside the likes of Stuart O'Grady. Hmm.

So Eurosport isn't broadcasting TDU?

Nope, never did.
It's very easy to find broadcast though, on steephill or similar sites.

TDU stream:
https://video.au.msn.com/watch/video/n...%257c%257c
~60k to go, two surprising things already happened:
-Gerrans snatched 2 bonus seconds
and
-Andy Schleck was seen in the front rows of the peloton
Plus a very fitting quote from the CN forum:
Much as I can't stand the man for his Armstrong apologism, and as much as I think he's gone a bit senile when he's doing the call, I've gotta say that hearing Phil Liggett's voice makes me feel an involuntary excited tingle that the cycling season has started.
WT racing is back, guys

Even more surprising, Thomas De Gendt outsprints JJ Rojas for 2 bonus seconds.
Kerby alone in front, Pineau currently trying to join him.

Greipel absolutely dominant, great leadout from Lotto to set him up.

Gorilla at the very least two steps above everyone else. You can't find a better leadout train than Lotto's atm.
Demare 2nd, Renshaw 3rd, Ponzi, von Hoff, Ferrari, Pietropolli, EBH.

Finding it sort of pointless to have Gossy ride at the TDU and then not give him any support. Would rather have seen Howard, Kroupis or Davis if that were the case. Can definetly understand why though.
Gerrans, and De Gendt with the masterstrokes with getting the time bonus at the sprint points, but wowzers, how good was Gilbert at the third sprint. Masterclass.
Lotto the team to beat on the flat. Gripel finished off the job of his teammates quite easily. |

Is there a summary video or something? It's kind of hard to wake up in the middle of the night when you have to be in class early in the morning to watch some grown man racing on bikes. |

It`s frustrating when you don`t check any cycling news to see the result on youtube later without knowing the winner and then you open your private messages and it says: You have won a bet....
Still I am very happy with Greipel taking this one even when some others are quite surprising in the top 5. |

Just a video of the sprint, with no commentary. |

It was scary how easily Lotto took over from Sky and delivered Greipel to the line. Never looked in doubt. Demare rode really well to get through such a tight gap to pinch 2nd as well.

I think it was Van Hoff, who wasn`t able to match Greipel`s acceleration. It would have been interesting if Demare was behind him if he could have made it closer.
