Another sprint stage, what is Maaskant up today?
After catching hte break Maaskant is bpu is a good position by van Emden for the intermediate sprint and he wins it, and attacks again but today only 12km left. Ventoso follows today.
But they are caugth really soon again...
van Avermeat got a good postion, van Emden following Pettaci as Maaskant is empty again.
But it's O'Grady who takes it and a nice 5th for van Emden.

Odd tactics to attack with your sprinter so close to the finish.

After a small break reading the happy potter book in 3 days () I'm ready to go again heading for Nice.
As allways it was KOM Van der Velde who joined the break. He fought for the points with Tankink who's coming very close.
The break was caugth, on the puniltimate climb it was Rebbelin who started. At the foot of the last climb only 3 riders where still away.
Then, when race leader Nibali attacked, it's was time for everytbody with classification ambitions to follow.
But Nibali is obviously the strongest and goes all the way to Rebbelin. You can see them through the supporters, Nibali left and Rebbelin rigth sprinting for victory.
But it is Nibali with most power left.

The first mountain stage of the season for us with Contador as one of the main favourites. He's not in good shape but what can he do???
One of the favourites Gesink attacks, but we're not planning to let him go this easily.
In the end, he is in the break since we cant shase everything...
But at the foot of the final climb Danialson is the last rider of the break to be caught and it's Zabriskie with Ruigh trying to get Contador up front.
When Valverde attacks it's time to follow. But Contador isnt good today, and doesnt reach the leaders.
Then he get in the 2nd groupe, the pace is set very high and Contador is trying very hard to hold on. Maybe a little too hard...
It's Valverde who easily takes the win, in the backgroud Contador is back to the pack. This was obviously not his day.

Today is the final stage of Paris Nice which will bring up up the Col D'Eze in a individual time trial.
It's Ghisalberti who sets the first decent time.
But it doesn't take long before french TT champ Vaugrenard(Rabobank) passes him.
Then it's the Basque Zubeldia who shows he can still do something by passing him with quite a few seconds.
Then, we go to the top 3. It's Gil who takes 3rd.
Then Pellizotti passes him by 4 seconds.
But then, it's Di Luca time. He blasts past Dessel to take first place with a massive 55 seconds lead!

another sprinter stage. it was Moletta who took the KOM points in the break.
At the start of the sprint it was Davis from predictor in the best position it seems with belgian champ Boonen behind him and lead out by Leukemans.
But with 1km to go it was Cahvanel powering past everybody.
There was no limit on him today. Maaskant was following O'Grady but couldnt keep up with him.... it's a sad day for him...

It's a TT to make the final classement
It was Italian TT champ Quinziato to set the early fast time
Then world champ Thomas Dekker came, but he isnt good... +9 seconds
Then its our best man, Zabriskie, passing Dekker for second place with just one second!
Up to the top 3 of the day. Number 3, Jens Voigt:
Number 2, a suprizingly good Vladimir Gusev
And who else then Suisse TT champ Cancellara takes the win by 23 seconds!

The final stage in Italie would be for the sprinters. Gusev shouldnt lose his jersey.
Halfway, it's Boom who falls, it seems Maaskant has touched him...
But the pack isnt waiting, the sprint is being prepared.
The trains set up with Maaskant ready today behind Davis.
But it was obviously the wrong train since the predictor guys dont start sprinting. Maaskant jump from wheel to wheel but it's too late, the T-Moblie train is gone allready with Petacci.

It's time for 2 continental races as last preparation for Milaan - Sanremo. Starting in Belgium.
In a sprint we got van Poppel which we hope will win today. But we got some other strong guns as well like Bodrogi.
As allways theres a break, look at roadie's car in front
We chase hard with some other teams while going through the finish street.
It's van Emden who reacts on an attack from Verbrugge(Rabobank)
He's cathing up but never closes the gap, and in the sprint he is too late. Behind them it's van Poppel sprinting to a 3rd place.

Final race before Milaan - Sanremo. van Poppel is top favourite.
Theres a break with no big names.
With 100km to go and a gap of 10 minutes we start chasing hard.
With 10km to go the gap is still 3 minutes. That's too big for sure. But who doesnt try, doesnt win, so there we go. Boom gonna go 100% with van Emden ready to lead out the sprint for van Poppel. Going for 9th place.
Whow, Boom is strong today, he's made a gap. 7 men are aways from the pack. but it's cost a lot. with 5km to go Boom has lower the gap to just over 2 minutes and it's time for van Emden to take over.
They catch up with 2 riders from the break as you can see, but not with the rest. It's the duo from CCC Polsat who takes the win. Behind them, van Poppel sprints to an easy 7th place.

First pro tour classic of the season. We got all our hope on van Poppel but will he survive the hills?
Van der Velde is in the break, with Rasmussen
the gap grows, the pack chases, and the attacks come. Riders like Barredo, Ricco, Kirchen, Necentini, F. Schleck, Leukemans and Horner cross the gap.
In the end there are more then 20 men riding in the break
It's a bit late, but there comes Boom, together with Paolini and Gusev.
Boom isnt good enough and is dropped, but the other 2 make it to the break where most of the riders from the early break are gone, including Van der Velde...
On the top of the Poggio they still have allmost 3 minutes lead
With 2km to go the sprint is on in the break, with Horner forced to lead out and quickly passed by Schleck. Gusev is coming fast at the left side of the road.
In the pack it's Predictor for davis again, followd by van Poppel.
Back to the break where Gusev has passed aveybody with Visconi rigth behind him. Who will take Milaan - Sanremo???
It's Gusev who holds it, Mori takes 2nd and Visconti hangs on for 3rd.
Back in the pack, van Poppel makes it obvious he's still a rookie and makes some bad manouvers coming just 4th in the pack sprint.
It's Gusev who is doing great in Italie with the Tirreno and Milaan - Sanremo!
He's obviously leading the pro tour now.

Back to where we come from, a home race. Van Poppel looking to win this, and we've brougth a strong team to help him.
A big break, with 9 men. They're gaining time pretty fast, and they force us to chase pretty early in the race.
With 8km to go the train for van Poppel is there and we've caugth the break. We got 3 Unibet guys rigth behind us, we van Poppel be able to keep ahead?
Leezer has done his job, and the sprint is on.
It gets obvious pretty fast that van Emden and van Poppel are superior to the others and they sprint away from the groupe cruising to a one two.
Thats a Dutch guys 3rd as well, is that a prize from Smoothie???
