Big fan of this team, 2nd favourite behind Evian-Miat, due to me being Australian . Hoping to make a part-Aussie team myself next year if I get accepted. So in short, good luck!
Hang on, we're someone's favourite team? |

Thanks. Bit surprised though, we don't have loads of talents, my HQ posts are dull and insipid and we win little. I'm guessing its the Mongolians? |

I wouldn't say it's a particular reason, just that the team is easy to follow.

Really crucial end season for Oz - Herald Sun Tour in particularly important as that is certainly winnable. With Bobridge returning, youll be able to move much higher up the table next year, assuming you survive.

@jph: Interesting indeed! I could imagine Davis or Napo surviving the hills and Rogers losing minutes, but that's just my pessimistic view
@Manx: Thanks! Nice to hear being one of your favorites America will indeed be crucial, too bad the startlist is way stronger than i was hoping for. And too bad i have to rely on Peraud but he does well so far....
@roturn: Thank you, too! If you keep on posting stage-wins for Oz, America could bring us some points as well
@Cycleman: Nice to know that there are real Aussies cheering for Oz! If you will be accepted, this could become interesting then
@SN: Yap! How i wish i will welcome Bobridge back as a PCT-team! He will definitely be a well needed upgrade, especially as we hadn't any strong puncheur so far in our two years.

Congratulations with your points in America. Another good result in stage 13 with Oeraud in 3rd. Good luck with the rest of the season.

Thanks, LLS! Points like that will be important, so i hope our riders will score some more good stage-results like Peraud's our Lewis' recent performances.

I hope you get the points you need. I support all Oceania teams even if they are Australian.

Which (Australian) riders are on the provisional transfer list for next year? If I am accepted then this will probably be my first port of call

Michael Rogers
Not sure yet. Some will leave, some will stay whatever division we end up riding next year. Definitely staying are Bobridge, my TT-specialists like Ford, as well as William Ford.. Not sure about Gerrans, Lloyd or Drapac.
@LLS: A late thanks for your support, even though we are Aussie

There's definitely a chance he may leave the team, but this depends on wether we stay in the division or relegate to Conti Tour. So i'm not joking at all

But not to a Conti team though so I don't know why I'm excited

Guess you always knew what this race would mean to Oz this season Will update my HQ soon, btw. After some quiet weeks, I guess it's time to do so now.

I could claim to be psychic, but it wasn't too hard a deduction to make with Rogers in your team I do have a feeling you could be much higher up the table next season with Bobridge back, maybe even outside Promotion candidates depending on how the rest of your team shapes up... Let's see how that prediction holds up!

Quoting three comments posted within a year is always a bit unfair, too Hope your predictions hold up, of course!

Rasmussen survives - Rogers delivers in Australia!
The Oz Cycling Project finally has some good news to announce: after some rather quiet weeks and an all-american September ending with too less points ( Peraud finished 9th in Tour of America), the team found itself deep in the relegation zone! Last remaining chance: the Herald Sun Tour, our home race!
The race kicked off with a bang, as Alex Rasmussen sprinted to a podium-finish on second day. He would later also survive all of the five road races and put up a strong performance in the TT (picture below) to complete his best result for Oz this year: 8th in GC! Well done, Alex. Must have been your best fight ever - right in time!
Of course or highest hopes were on Michael Rogers to finally deliver in a stage-race (as his best result was a 6th place in Vineyards so far). And here we go: Rogers, who came off a rather disappointing World Championhips campaign (without defending his TT-title), faced some heavy competition in David Zabriskie and this time.. he did it!
1 second. 1 second to hold off the "Big Z" and claim the race-lead with only one criterium in Adelaide remaining. Wow. And thanks to Mark Cavendish missing out on bonus seconds there, Rogers finally finished 1st in a stage-race's GC! Also huge thanks to Simon Gerrans (KoM) and William Ford (Young Rider), who scored some valuable points in a Herald Sun Tour, which saw the Aussie fans go crazy after the Oz's best performance this season!
The season ain't over though, so it's just a huge step towards avoiding the heavily feared relegation. The Oz will stay in Asia for it's final two events (Beijing, Japan Cup), where we hope to score some Top-10/20 results with our puncheurs. Stay tuned for more! And of course don't miss to follow the team in it's Tour of Utah appearance. Timetrialling, folks!

Finally, yes That said, the Herald Sun was also one of our best races last season with our only fulfilled sponsor goal and Bobridge finish as 4th. So kinda most favorite race now
