AMEXpc is interested in Marcel Sieberg. We are looking for a key domestique for our cobbles squad. Sieberg looks to be an ideal fit.
If he might be available then let's please talk when the transfer season opens.

@Mhaley We could talk during the transfer season, Sieberg could be allowed to go if the offer is right
Other than that, renewals done. Some riders down in wage, some riders up, some riders leaving the team

New contracts for VolksWagen-Mapei riders
The new wages for VolksWagen riders has been made offical, and also the 3 riders leaving the team before the transfer season.
Last Name | First Name | 2013 Wage | 2014 Wage | Bøchman | Lasse | € 50.000 | Free Agent | Kessler | Matthias | € 110.000 | Free Agent | Müller | Christian | € 50.000 | Free Agent | Keizer | Martijn | € 485.000 | € 495.000 | Flügel | Aleksandar | € 240.000 | € 315.000 | Ratiy | Vadim | € 154.500 | € 175.000 | Gaudin | Damien | € 200.000 | € 140.000 | Castañeda | Jaime Alberto | € 150.000 | € 95.000 | Brändle | Matthias | € 160.000 | € 85.000 | Anacona | Winner | € 50.000 | € 75.000 | Preidler | Georg | € 50.000 | € 70.000 | Sieberg | Marcel | € 100.000 | € 70.000 | Zabel | Rick | € 100.000 | € 65.000 | Zepuntke | Ruben | € 120.000 | € 65.000 | Brenes | Gregory | € 50.000 | € 60.000 | Zurita | Gilber | € 110.000 | € 60.000 | Haugard | Phan Age | € 50.000 | € 55.000 | Bru | Fulgencio | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | Delgado | Yeison | € 80.000 | € 50.000 | Predatsch | Kevin | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | Schorn | Daniel | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | Taubel | Christoph | € 50.000 | € 50.000 |
In general we are happy about the renewals, most of our riders are on low wages for their level and this gives us a lot of room to play with in the transfer season considering we got 19 riders under contract.
All riders except for Flügel, Zabel, Zepuntke, Brändle and Preidler are available for the right price. We are 99% sure about some of them leaving

Next years stats for Riders currently owned by VolksWagen - Mapei
We are really looking forward to seeing how this team will perform next season when a lot of our talents are maxing out. Will be exciting no matter if it is PT or PCT

This is a real beautiful strong all around squad. So basically a much stronger one in comparison to my team of 79-80 riders.
Will be interesting though how much of those you can keep when relegating. |

You can dream ;-) Will be interesting to see how many I can keep when I overbid you for every German rider you want :-p
In general, any rider from my team can leave during the off-season except for Flügel, Zepuntke, Zabel, Preidler and Brändle. Even though many more is unlikely :-p
I expect that my talents except for Monsalve want a higher wage next year, then I hope that Monsalve will take a nice wage cut, while also Pippo and Sella becomes a lot cheaper.

I hope you don't go down for...2015 squad reasons
Assuming you could do with getting rid of only Pippo and Sella, that would certainly be a team I cannot possibly beat in PCT.
Considering Bouhanni is a PT stage winner now, maybe he'll be worth a thought or two. Don't forget who sold him so cheap to Festina two years ago that they didn't mind losing him again!

I hope (and believe) I will stay up ;-)
Bouhanni might leave (or might stay), might be some riders in your team that are interesting for me ;-) Unsure if I will have any French riders next year, Bouhanni was signed when i will still hoping to acquire Sicard and thought he needed some friends (and I liked the offer for Ratiy...)

Mapei co-sponsorship to end
After 2 years as co-sponsor for the German VolksWagen-team Mapei has decided to leave. Mapei state ina brief press release during Tour of Northern Europe (ToNE) that they felt the team was not going in the direction they wanted. They wanted the team to focus more on Italian riders and rumors are already stating that the only 2 Italians on the team will leave after this season.
Manager Heine is busy with the team at the moment and have not been able to respond yet. However, sources are telling us that a new sponsor should be close.

I very much hope that too, but I also hope that for Rothaus...tricky situation you put yourself in there
We'll definitely have talks come transfers anyway, even if it's just friendly banter, so that will be something we can address somewhere along the way.

Early indications of availability
Only 2 races left of the season, co-sponsor leaving. Are there time for big changes? According to sources at the VolksWagen cycling team the foundation of the team will be the same, but it will of course be changes. Rumors already state that Pineau will leave the team during the off season as he will not be offered a new contract. Pineau was a late signing last season to fill out the team for hilly classics and considering his age he will have to search for a new team.
We have been told that riders like Pozzato, Sella and Bouhanni might be sold during the transfer season. Our source also state that even riders like Klemme could be on his way out if the offer is right. Klemme is supposedly unhappy about playing second fiddle to Pozzato and Flugel
Manager Heine made s short statement on the future: "Nothing is decided as of now, we will analyze the season when it is over. However, we are always looking to make fair and good deals with other teams and will as usual be open for negotiations during the transfer season. I do however have to say that there are some riders that make up the soul of this team, they will NOT leave us unless they make outrageous demands during the off season. Riders like Flügel, Zepuntke, Zabel and Preidler are riders that have grown and developed together with the team and selling them would be selling our soul."

A number of potential Nutresa targets have been racing in Volkswagen colours this year. Interesting statements from management have been hitting the press, but little specific to those on our radar. We look forward to potential dialogue in the off-season.
In the meantime, the squad listing a couple of posts back is pretty intimidating from the perspective of a CT team stepping up to the big bad world of the PCT for the first time with the (admittedly now diminishing) prosepct that we could be in direct competition at the races in 2015! Hence I can offer sincere wishes of good luck to you for the last couple of races of the season to ensure you avoid relegation (only for altruistic reasons of future self-preservation of course ).

I also hope I avoid PCT, but everything can happen, remember though if I relegate I will have 1 million less in wage cap...

I'd already kinda figured that you'd choose to jettison the two aging Italians in that case, and hey presto, problem sorted. Still intimidating! We'll be in touch come the right time.

Big news at the end of the season!
Another year in Pro Tour, new sponsor, rumors
Following the final race of the season the decision is clear. After a close battle with "the other" German team Rothaus, VolksWagen will stay in the Pro Tour. Following the great news the team also presented the new sponsor, who clearly wanted to be a part of the celebration already. The new sponsor, taking over for Mapei will be the Austrian company Andritz. A quick check at their website tells us:
Spoiler "ANDRITZ is a globally leading supplier of plants, equipment, and services for hydropower stations, the pulp and paper industry, the metalworking and steel industries, and for solid/liquid separation in the municipal and industrial sectors. The publicly listed technology Group is headquartered in Graz, Austria, and has a staff of almost 25,000 employees. ANDRITZ operates over 250 sites worldwide."
Considering that the Italian sponsor Mapei leaves it clearly shows that the team will focus even more on German and Austrian riders. This also fits well with Magna-Ryanair disbanding. Will their young Austrians be ready to join VolksWagen?
Including the young Austrians rumored from Magna sources also tell us that VolksWage-Andritz will be looking at adding a new GT-rider as Sella will most likely leave. Talking about leaving also Pozzato are said to leave to team, meaning that two of the teams best point scorers this season are most likely sold. Both riders should have no problem finding a new team, either in PT or PCT. Denifl is seen as the most wanted rider in, but no one knows about his availability, considering that he has been having a good season riding for PT champions Wikipedia. However, there are many other riders that could fill this position.
Another rider likely to leave is Nacer Bouhanni, the team want to focus entirely around Rick Zabel for the sprints and that means the young frenchman (with a stage win this year) might be looking for a new team.
It is also said that the manager is not entirely happy about the performances by Domenik Klemme, the German puncheur was expected to score well this year after joining from B&O, but couldn't cope with the pressure. However, he should be prefect for a PCT team.
No matter what happens we are looking forward to the new season, considering the many young developing riders at VolksWagen-Andritz the teams should be able to build on this season and with the extra experience fight for better positions next year.
Edit: And the new jersey:

I like the choice for the new sponsor. With riders like Brändle or Preidler you have a nice Austrian core and Austria and Germany fit of course well anyway.
Never heard of the company but the logo goes very well with the one of VW. The jersey is simple but looks good.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!
