Superprestige Gavere Part One 
I was full of nervous energy today. With everything set out, the crowds were expecting a duel between the very best. The Italian cyclocross fans however, were wanting to see how I'd perform. I didn't bring a team with me as they wouldn't be able to help me with the way I was planning on riding...
Greta cyclocross riders like Sven Nys were present and I knew it would be difficult. Although he was very old now, he still had a trick up his sleeve.
After I had attacked with three other riders we established ourselves, making an increasing gap to the peloton.
We had the advantage over the peloton though. With roads being narrow, we were able to maneuver quicker and easier than the peloton who were stretched out. This helicopter shot shows that.
So, with 50 km to go and a gap of just under four minutes the race was on...

I was riding hard but had to share the pace out so I didn't burnout...
With the peloton waking up I tried to do a spectacular 35 km solo.
I was caught before everyone snapped and I was alone with one other rider. He didn't want to work though.
He couldn't hold on and the peloton was now really really really close...
The very best riders in the world were after me now, I seemed to have no hope...
What was to become of me? I have a had minute lead and five kilometres of flat tarmac ahead of me. Fate is in my hands...

Okay, this time it actually is the final part
Come on! All the fans were cheering for me now for my brave ride. I could do this! A minute is the gap and three kilometres to go.
Two kilometres now... I'm starting to get nervous now, there is a very loud noise going on behind me...

Spoiler No, not now!!! One kilometre left but every thing feels like it is a bout to disappear from my eyes. I know Sven Nys is now about to overtake me...
I can still come on the podium. I summon whatever is left inside of me for the final lunge...
Too... weak...
Only fourth place for me. Agonisingly close to the podium and my goal but not doing it...
Once I get off the bike I collapse. That ride took everything out of me. But it wasn't enough...
