It wasn't really a Van Der Haar profile, he needs fast races. This one was only 17avg, very tough. He needs to build more strength for a race as this, he's too young.
Also, he should take his career easy if he wants to become great, you can't start off to fast, or you burn out (Bart Wellens dominated for 2 years, but he did too much too soon)

Brace yourselves, tomorrow is the Koppenbergcross.

One of the best editions ever in 2008. Boom vs Nys.

Albert thinks they might have to run up the Koppenberg due to the mud. In that case, Albert will surely score some time!

Nys is still king of the Koppenberg. Pauwels had a really bad day.

That final punch from Nys was so impressive. Unbelievable!

Yup, I believe he's Dieter's little brother and Sven's cousin.
There's also Yannick Peeters, who's a son of Wilfried Peeters.
Edit: Not to mention both Van der Poel's, being sons of Adrie van der Poel and grandsons of Raymond Poulidor.
Edit2: So many cycling connections. Lucie Chainel is Steve Chainel's wife.

Seems like a grerat finale, must watch it somewhere later. And surprise for me is this Taramarcaz guy from Switzerland with nice results this year in terrain (apart from usual MTB).

Indeed, Taramarcaz is riding a great season, so is Klaas Vantornhout.
Van Der Haar was pretty impressive as well, I really like his style of riding, hope to see much more of him.
When you watch the finale, the final lap, I think you'll love it
Nys taking the upper hand, Albert then scooping in on a section no one thought it to be possible and then side by side , fighting, just lovely

Fidea Jaarmarktcross Niel
1 Niels Albert BKCP - Powerplus 55'18" 2 Bart Aernouts AA Drink Cyclocross Team 12" 3 Sven Nys Landbouwkrediet - KDL 22" 4 Bart Wellens Telenet - Fidea 30" 5 Francis Mourey FDJ - BigMat 38" 6 Aurelien Duval UV Aube 38" 7 Thijs van Amerongen AA Drink Cyclocross Team 01'42" 8 Gerben de Knegt Orange Babies Cycling Team 01'45" 9 Philipp Walsleben BKCP - Powerplus 01'45" 10 Rob Peeters Telenet - Fidea 01'58"
Niels Albert wins with a late attack. It was an old-fashioned mud-cross with lots of parts where the riders had to run. The French tandem couldn't prevent a Belgian 1-2-3-4, but still a good ride by them. Some of the bigger names weren't here like Pauwels, Vantornout, Meeusen and Van der Haar.

Damn totally forgot about cyclo-cross today
Good to see Albert winning here. Aernouts confirming his shape!
Tomorrow is Hamme-Zogge. Last year Stybar won, but that will be impossible this year since he won't compete

How could you forget?! You're from Belgium!
Looking forward to tomorrow. I hope it's not going to be Nys vs Albert again. I hope some of the other riders have a chance.

Nys was unstoppable today. He escaped in during the 3rd lap after a small mistake by Van der Haar. Albert had a bad start and he even had a mechanical, but he still managed to catch everyone but Nys. With an attack in the last lap he shook off Van der Haar to get 2nd place.

IT was truly epic, Nys doesn't seem to be getting older
This win was a big fuck-you to Pauwels and Vantornhout, who didn't want to race Saturday to save themselves.
Nys and Albert, again. But Van Der Haar was very strong and he got his first podium place in a SuperPrestige.
Nys leads Superprestige with 3/3 (45 Points), Albert 42 Points and Pauwels 37 Points.
