Monthly report: 1st May 2012.
Continental placing: 2nd
Superprestige: 25th.
Balance: 322,729 Euros
Still looking good for promotion, our ability to dominat 2.2 is impressive, however we are looking to strengthen our team for next year to compete in the .1 and .HC races next year.
Tom Wilson, an exciting prospect who was close to being chosen for the team pursuit squad at the age of 18 comes into the team next year.
When asked which of a list of riders interested him, Gaffeff replied none of them. Am I only allowed those options As previosly Mentioned I'm looking to bring in Langeveld, there are a few other riders I have my eye on but have not made an approach yet.
Reporter: We believe you have a sponsor requirement of half your team needing to be from Yorkshire. Are you looking to expand your squad, and if you are should any teams with Yorkshire riders be Worried.
Gaffeff: We will be looking to expand the team next year so that we can compete in 3 races at once. We believe there is a strong cycling base in Yorkshire and believe there will be no problem either bringing in New riders like Wilson and Boyle or any with free contracts this year.
No news on the new sponsor for next year, but we have ample funding already to expand the team to cover 24 riders. Any extra funding would be used to expand the team to 30 riders.

Henao chose sky over us Not sure about Degenkolb, thought there would be too much overlap with Swift. |

Introduction to the young riders.
Having read some other stories (mainly Ian Butlers Tale of two riders, which I can thoughly recommend), and with the fact I have new riders (so I can make their characters up), I wanted to flesh out their personality a bit.
Nicholas Boyle: Time trialler (Cycling press clasify as worth watching).
Born: Huddersfield, Yorkshire
Age: 21
Favorite rider: Chris Boardman
Best win: Time Trial win in Stage 2 of the tour of Berlin.
I joined the White Rose team as I've spent alot of time in training with Ed Clancy both in Manchester and in the new Sheffield Velodrome. He recommended me to Gaffeff and it went from there. Due to the sponsors, my being born in Yorkshire is an advantage but I thoughly intend to prove I'm there on merit. My dream would be to win the prologue in Yorkshire when the TDF gets there. In the meantime, I believe I can learn a great deal from riders like Ben Day, Ed Clancy and Andy Tennant. I also believe I could learn something from the cobblestone riders too.
It looks like I will be placed into the cobblestone team so will be working with Sebastian Langeveld and Ian Wilkinson.
Tom Wilson (Worth Watching)
Born: Sheffield, Yorkshire
Age: 18
Favorite rider: Robert Millar
Best win: Stage 4, Ronde de l'Isard
I guess I'm a stereotypical product of the british cycling farm, I started on the track but always wanted more. I'm not a bad track rider (my stats place my around the same level as Ed Clancy was at my age), but it's the mountains I want to play. I far more enjoyed zotting up the peak district climbs when I was a kid then turning left for 5 hours. I was considered for the Team pursuit so am no mean track rider. I chose the White rose team due to a higher chance of getting protection than Sky. I'll let you know more when I join the team in October but for now I'm just looking forward to next year.
Daniel Wilcox (Worth Watching)
Born: Leeds, Yorkshire.
Age: 18
Best win: erm, none yet.
Favorite rider: Thomas Voekler
I'm looking to start a career in cycling, to start with I will probably be playing a domestic role. I like the way White Rose ride and as Belly's [Jonathan Bellis] ride earlier shows if you put riders in a breakaway they can win.
We will be updating more in the future with the cycling lifes of young riders, our aim is to give you a behind the scenes view of a Pro-continental team. |

End of Year Summary:
FDJ and AG2R relegated to pro-continental.
Argos-Shimano and Europecar promoted.
Promoted to Pro-Continental: White Rose, An Post, Christina Watches, Carmim-Prio, Leopard Trek.
Relegated to continental: Andalucia, Columbia, Rusvelo, Utensilnord, Champion.
Overall primary objective for the year achieved. Ben Swift made approx 50% of our points having a fantastic year. The strengthed team should allow us to push for World tour status. It will be a tough fight, but we are looking forward to it.
I would expect us to do well at the classics and maybe stage wins in the shorter tours.
