@Ian Butler: I will! At this moment I'm up to date with the game. I'll play stages 2 of Mallorca and Qatar at night, so may be tomorrow I could report both of them.
@Avin Wargunnson: It was a good result for us. May be for the timetrial I will lose time with both sprinters, so they can get into breakaways in other stages.
@sutty68: Thanks! |

Vuelta a Mallorca - Stage 2 Report
06/02/2012
Stage 2
Son Severa - Cala Minor : 170.4 kms
Attacks, attacks and more attacks, however the break of the day didn't form until we reach the 50 kms of the stage. Julian Kern (GER/LET), Carlos Quintero (COL/COL), Yannick Eijssen (BEL/BMC) and Jérôme Coppel (FRA/SAU) were the four man who finally could get away from the bunch.
Julian Kern (GER/LET) leading the breakaway. The german was the most active of the group in front and took the KoM jersey.
The peloton let the four men go but the gap didn't grow up more than 6:30. With 90 kms to the end of the stage, Europcar and Astana increased the pace and the gap was quickly reduced.
Jérôme Coppel (FRA/SAU) takes the second climb of the day while the main bunch is really close to the breakaway.
The break ended with less than 20 kms to the finish, and Movistar, Garmin and Rabobank started their sprint trains. Sébastien Turgot, race leader, was there trying to gain position and Gorka Izagirre followed his wheel.
Movistar did a great job to put his two fastest men at the front as they fought for the win with Tyler Farrar and the Rabobank boys.
Francisco José Ventoso (ESP/MOV) takes the victory in front of Tyler Farrar (USA/GRS) and his teammate José JoaquÃn Rojas (ESP/MOV).
Gorka Izagirre (ESP/EUS) did a good sprint and finished in a decent 12th place fighting with great sprinters such as Matti Breschel, Óscar Freire and Roberto Ferrari.
Sébastien Turgot finished at 9th place losing the yellow jersey at the hands of Ventoso.

@Ian Butler: Yes, for sure. And I think this type of stage doesn't fit at all to the team.
Tour of Qatar - Stage 2 Report
06/02/2012
Stage 2
Lusail : 10.3 kms
The Team Time Trial started and it was the first team, Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank who sets the best time, 13'42.
Vacansoleil - DCM is the first team to beat Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank. 13'25 for the dutch team.
With five teams still to arrive, noone has beaten the Vacansoleil's time. Let's see what Sky can do here.
No glory for the british team as they arrive 5 seconds slower than Vacansoleil.
After Sky, it's Radioshack Nissan - Trek with Fabian Cancellara in the team, who passes over the finish line. New best time, 13'12, 13 seconds ahead of the dutch team.
Fabian Cancellara (SUI/RNT), fourth in line, did a great job today.
We tried not to waste too much energies today, but also didn't want to lose an opportunity for racing at this kind of stage. Losing 31 seconds at the first checkpoint and 58 seconds at the end, we ended last but our riders were not speciallist at all.
14'10 was our time. May be finishing last is hard, but the team know they made a good performance.
Orica - Greenedge couldn't improve Radioshack's time, finishing 4th today 23 seconds behind the best time. It's time for race leader's team, FDJ - BigMat...
13'51 for the french team and Arnaud Demare (FRA/FDJ) loses the yellow jersey at the hands of another frenchman, Tony Gallopin (FRA/RNT).

@sutty68: May be it's the game, but this one was pretty real. I cannot blame the game, cause it's like in real life, Euskaltel has few good timetrialist, Samuel is good but in stage races where recovery is a main issue. I played a TTT at the Giro and this was the result. I should say... it was not real... but I did get an excellent result.
Spoiler Playing hard with Euskaltel in the Giro TTT (30kms) and doing all the TT with 99% effort I won the stage. Not much realistic.
Game Version: PCM 2012 1.2.0.0
Database: PCM Daily Expansion Pack
Game Difficulty: Hard
Riders Form: 89
I don't remember exactly how much seconds I set for every rider... but it was 25 for the better TT (Samu Sanchez), and the I put like 20 to the TT above 70 and 15 for riders with less than 70.
They all relay.

@sutty68: Play a long TTT with a decent team, 99% and just asign relay for your best 5 riders in TT. 25seconds for the best and less for worst riders.
Make a relationship between your best timetrialist and the 5th.
For example:
Best TT - 76
2nd Best - 73
3rd Best - 72
4th Best - 69
5th Best - 68
Assign 25 seconds for the best, and 15 seconds for the 5th and the assign the rest proportionally.
Best TT - 76 - 25s
2nd Best - 73 - 22s
3rd Best - 72 - 20s
4th Best - 69 - 17s
5th Best - 68 - 15s
Don't forget to leave 99% as effort for everyone.
Let me know how it goes for you?

Not really a fan of simulating stages, but if its a choice of winning or coming second then i possibly have no choice, but i will try out ricotero's advice first before i make a decision |
