This stage is the exact same as the other Qatar stages.
In the break today, Rujano is the biggest name. He looks to regain the lost time, caused by the splits.
The break doesn't get anywhere, as SpiderTech takes the charge at the front.
While the sprinters start to form their trains, a fall happens in the pack, and Wiles and Lépard are stuck behind, while Omega - Pharma pulls the peleton, with Steegmans leading out Boonen. They start to have a gap, only Farrar can follow them.
However, Bennati tries to catch up, and goes past them! Boonen looks angry, and immediately jumps, and drops Farrar! Who will win?
At the same time Wiles and Lépard try to fight their way back to the main peleton. Will they succeed?
Tom Boonen takes it ahead of Farrar! Bennati faded a lot and finished 3rd. Wiles and Lépard at the end got the same time as them, so that means, that Wiles wins the GC, the sprint and the U25 jersey!

The Tour of Oman is quite similar to ToQ, but it has a big MTF on the top of the Green Mountain, and a hilly TT. Other than that, the 4 flat stages, so the sprinters have oppurtunities to win.
Our squad:
With this squad we must have high ambitions, as our dual-leaders Clemson and Gömböcz are perfectly prepared to grab the GC. Although the GC ambitions are high, they'll be part of our train for James. We think, that James can grab some stagewins along with the points jersey.

So I'm bored of all the flat stages, so this report is just a rushed thing to get to the Green Mountain. So let's get to the 3 flat stages.
This stage was pretty much a borefest. No break, no pace in the peleton, just sitting and waiting for the sprint. We sat up the train, but the last leadout Newbould screwed it up, by having absolutely no kick at the end. At least D'Hout was strong enough to get a 5th. Tyler Farrar won the train after a great Hunter- leadout.
1 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin - Sharp | 3h55'44 | 2 | Nico Eeckhout | An Post - Sean Kelly | s.t. | 3 | Robert Hunter | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 4 | Juan José Haedo | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | s.t. | 5 | James D'Hout | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 6 | Aaron Kemps | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 7 | Angelo Furlan | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. | 8 | Daniel Schorn | Team NetApp | s.t. | 9 | Mauro Abel Richeze | Ora Hotels Carrera | s.t. | 10 | Jackson Newbould | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. |
The stage where our bad series of 2(!)Spoiler really bad eh? continued. The wind was blowing, the peleton was going thanks to our domestiques, and it didn't work out well. Newbould, Tommeke, Gömböcz, Clemson, D'Hout was our train, and it dominated the pack before the 3km mark, where D'Hout lost a lot of power, and wasn't able to compete against Nuyens(!), who beated Kemps(!). It was a pretty crazy stage I must say.
1 | Nick Nuyens | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | 2h50'13 | 2 | Aaron Kemps | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | James D'Hout | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 4 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 5 | Hilton Clarke | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 6 | Angelo Furlan | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. | 7 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 8 | Robert Hunter | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 9 | Martijn Maaskant | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | 10 | René Jørgensen | Christina Watches - Onfone | s.t. |
We came to this stage with big expectation. It was now or never? Can we gat back to our winning streak?
So the BotD with Alex O'Beyne got a big lead, but RSNT and Garmin hold the control. They brouht the break back with the help of United Healthcare. At 12kms we formed our train, and dominated the pack. We even got a little gap before the sprint. D'Hout was empty before the sprint started, and we switched the focus to John, who was sitting comfortably on Gömböcz's wheel. Tommeke was also still there, and all 4 spiders started to sprint, and got the quadraple! Histrorical sprint I'd say.
Although the gap was clear, the peleton got the same time. We decided not to protest at the jury, after our fantastic win.
1 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | 5h09'32 | | 2 | Tommeke van de Kuijt | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | | 3 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | | 4 | James D'Hout | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | | 5 | Juan José Haedo | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | s.t. | | 6 | Tyler Farrar | Team Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | | 7 | Nico Eeckhout | An Post - Sean Kelly | s.t. | | 8 | Aaron Kemps | Champion System Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 9 | Hilton Clarke | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 10 | Daniele Bennati | RadioShack - Nissan | s.t. | |

Alex O'Beyne - 1 tremendous work
Jack Colett - 1 tremendous work
John Clemson - 2 GC lead + stage- win |

Here it comes! Today the first MTF of the year, the Green Mountain awaits the riders. The climbers are having a big smile on their face, while the sprinters are just nervous about the climb. It's 14km long, and averages 9,2%. It's a monster to say at the least.
Right after the start, SpiderTech - Cervélo decided to go to the front, and make some pace to test the climbers, with bad flat ability.
Before the final climb the peleton was together, and our riders were feeling average. Right at the start, an elite group of 8 formed, and got off with the tempo made by Vansummeren and El Fares. Gömböcz and Clemson were in the group and followed the pace.
After a while, our riders both started to struggle, and at 1km, El Fares and Vansummeren got away, and we couldn't follow.
It was close between Vansummeren and the TT1 rider, but the winner is...
Vansummeren! The Garmin rider took the victory ahead of the frenchman! Rohregger comes 3rd, and Clemson is 4th.
1 | Johan Vansummeren | Team Garmin - Sharp | 4h36'23 | 2 | Julien El Fares | Team Type 1 - Sanofi | s.t. | 3 | Thomas Rohregger | RadioShack - Nissan | + 38 | 4 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | s.t. | 5 | Philip Deignan | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | s.t. | 6 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 1'02 | 7 | Sergio Paulinho | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | + 1'14 | 8 | Andriy Grivko | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 9 | Fabian Cancellara | RadioShack - Nissan | + 1'57 | 10 | René Mandri | Endura Racing | + 2'39 |
1 | Johan Vansummeren | Team Garmin - Sharp | 16h31'32 | 2 | Julien El Fares | Team Type 1 - Sanofi | + 8 | 3 | John Clemson | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 38 | 4 | Thomas Rohregger | RadioShack - Nissan | + 50 | 5 | Philip Deignan | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 58 | 6 | Máté Gömböcz | SpiderTech - Cervélo | + 1'14 | 7 | Sergio Paulinho | Team Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank | + 1'34 | 8 | Andriy Grivko | Astana Pro Team | s.t. | 9 | Fabian Cancellara | RadioShack - Nissan | + 2'17 | 10 | René Mandri | Endura Racing | + 2'59 |
John Clemson - 1 he minimized the losses well, and kept the chance for the GC
The question is: Can he get the GC in the TT?

The first Spider on the road is Moore, who disappoints and even gets beaten by Rosseler!
The Top10 stats, with Newbould being in the lead, and he keeps after Gömböcz was 2nd off.
So Newbould was in the lead with a time of 38:30, when Spartacus came and view it away! He made it to the line in 37:57!
Then came TT1's El Fares, but he came just 2nd. Afterwards, it was down to the big battle. Clemson vs. Vansummeren. Who all win Tour of Oman?
Clemson starts, and makes 26s close to Fabian! Will this be enough?
Sadly enough, no. Vansummeren rides great, and beats Clemson by 6 ugly seconds. But hey, we have to move on, and there is still a chance to win bonus seconds.
