I think he came up with the name Modolo because of his story.

Yeah I didn't mean you personally fjhokie, just a rider like Modolo. Im thinking I should have ridden Langkawi instead of stupid Qatar. Anybody sending good sprinters to Qatar?

I send Boonen, i know he's not in good sprinter form, but everything can happen, he have some fitness because the TDU and Quatar will be good fitness training for peaking for the late february cobbled races, then for Tirreno, MIlan San Remo, and the classic cobbles... |

Send 8 time trialers and you'll get more points than by winning two sprints

Those are the points standings after the TdU, and I think it pretty fairly represents how the riders performed (Stage 1&2 of TdSL, and LTdL are also there).

Points ranking yes, but what if you get 3,4,5,6,7,9 and 10 at the Tour of Qatar as a team?

No one else sent any decent riders?

I think he's referring to the Team Time Trial?

I get it, your talking about the 11.3 km TTT. I don't think the gaps will be too huge I expect most teams will send 2-3 sprinters, and the rest will be domestiques that can be good at time-trials.
There are lots of time bonus's available for the sprinters to cut into that lead, and because of how the points system works, winning the ToQ is only worth 7 points (TDU was 12), Finishing 5th in GC gets you a whopping 3.15 (just barely more than winning a stage at TDU) and 10th is 1.4 points.
As a whole if a team finished 3-10 they would get 22.05 points. Sagen individually got 21 points in the TDU. VI got 27 points as a team.

Unfortunately Team Lavazza has zero points so far. I know I keep saying it, but I can't wait for the Giro della Calabria to start!

Alternatively, I could just us the points from the game which would likely be a hell of a lot easier

I would have no objections to you doing this if it saves you time...

Correct me if I'm blind, but I can only see Sagan in that list.
Anyway, it's not as bad as I thought. But winning the TTT means more points than winning the Tour of Qatar, that's for sure.
Edit: Any idea if you'll upload stages before you go to school?

Yea I'm thinking I really like this idea, there is a table in the DB I can use easy enough that I can work out. I'm not exactly sure how these points are done, but I'll assume the UCI has worked on coming up with a damn good formula.
