With both races at the same time we had to make priorities, in this case we sent a rather weak team to Paris - Nice to shine in the Tirreno.
Sacha was sprinting quite well in France, getting a few top 10s. Also Pozzato managed to hang on in the hills quite well. Bit of a shame that he lost too much time in the 5th stage otherwise he would've been a serious top 10 contender. The mountain stage isn't really to his liking but still he managed to not lose alot of time, which proves stage 5 'killed' his chances. He ended up 12th in the GC.
Meanwhile in Italy our team managed to lose over a minute in a TTT. After that big loss Damiano stepped up and got some very promising results. He ended up 4th in GC after he also lost some time in the TT, showing he was in great form just before Milano - Sanremo. Alexander Efimkin ended up 6th in the GC after a quite anonymous race. Novikov was 9th in the youth classification.

The longest race of the season. Will a sprinter win it or will a puncheur take his chaces on one of the small Coppi climbs near the end? We sent Kittel and Pozzato for the sprint and Cunego just in case both of the sprinters were having an off-day.
Kittel looked bad on the Cipressa and so we dicided to ride for Pozzato. At the end Pozzato was badly positioned and because of that we game Cunego the command to try to get away from the rest, and he managed to do so! With only a kilometre to go the Peloton came closer and closer and closer until Cunego raised his arms and somehow managed to keep the sprinted behind him by just a few centimetres, great ride by him!
Unfortunately Gustov fell in the chaos at the end and couldn't ride any further. After some checks in the local hospital nothing seems to be broken so we hope he can continue racing the races we scheduled him in.
