Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but Maurits Lammertink will go to Vacansoleil after the national championships. |

I like this idea, but what would the Schlecks do?
Make another team for themselves? |

That said, I'd love to see Szmyd actually trying to get a good GC, instead of seeing him helping Basso/Nibali
A 1000 times yes to that. Szmyd for a GC would be awesome. Let him shine instead of being a workhorse, and if it doesn't work out, then just let him go back to being the pacemaker, no big whop
There are many great riders who we think also can be leaders.
To be GT leader also need some special karma and kick..Rogers did not have it, Horner dont have it, Leipheimer dont have it, Klöden did not have it, Kreuziger and Porte at least yet does not have it. All these riders are amazing 6 day racers and winners..but not enough leaders for GT.
Still it is fun to watch top form Szmyd..when he moves to the front of the group and destroying a peloton day after day.
Sorry but you must be joking, these riders are clear leaders, first two of them scored GT podiums and they have that problem, that they were in the same team with best stage-racers of their genaration - Armstrong, Ullrich, Contador,Schleck.
Kreuziger just turned 26 and he is multiple top 10 finisher at the Tour and scored 6th place on the toughest Giro of the decade while still being under 25. He will show you at the Giro this year
If you consider Klöden as possible GT leader you must be stand up comedian |

Rabobank is interested in Martijn Keizer.
I don't want to see that. I hope he'll stay with Vacansoleil where he'll be allowed to go in the breakaway a lot more. |

Would be pretty anticlimactic transfer if it happens. Especially as Euskaltel has confirmed to be close to signings with secondary sponsor for next year.

Jakob Fuglsang says he has offers from two teams + possible contract extension with RadioShack.
The blogger Inrng says that one of the offers is from Astana (based on sources he trusts) and Saxo Bank is likely to be the other one. |

I'm not sure, but I don't think Fuglsang will be going to Saxo Bank, too much uncertainty atm, imo.
Looks like Astana has some plans! |

Fuglsang should find a team like Vaconsoleil where he can ride as a GT leader without too much pressure. Saxo Bank would fit him well being Danish but he would have to spend so much of his season helping Contador that once again his development would suffer.

I don't think/hope Sammy will ever leave Euskaltel. If he still does, I think Intxausti can replace him, he still can improve his skills.

Considering Intxausti moved 2 years ago from Euskaltel to Movistar, I doubt he'll return there and 'replace' Samu if he left this year.
But now Euskaltel is secured hopefully he'll stay.

Why did he leave again?
And yes, I consider chances Samu leaves at the end of this season very low too after the financial security Euskaltel's got now.

I am not sure as I didn't follow that saga especially.
I guess money came into place as priority. Also Movistar probably persuaded him by their better structure in the team or something similar like that probably. But not 100% sure.

I found the reason:
"Beñat Intxausti confirmed Wednesday he will not ride for the Basque team in 2011 because, according to a press statement, “because they haven’t reached an agreement for the renewal on satisfactory terms on both parties.”"

So you're probably right, money

Carlos Betancourt (or Betancur, whatever) has a few contract offers. He'd fit at Liquigas I think.

Now that'd be something, Contador riding for Radioshack? I don't think i'd like that very much.

It does make sense in terms of points, but I doubt it'll happen.
Riis is after all not exactly a fan of the Schlecks after they went behind his back when planning the Leopard team.
