E3 Prijs Vlaanderen - Harelbeke [img-r]https://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4210/32400447.png[/img-r]
And the race is off! The weather isn't the best but it could have been worst.
Young Jens Debusschere has no respect. He attacks from the start and leaves everybody behind to ride in solo break all day long. If he continues to ride like this and develope I am sure he will be a great cobblestone-rider in the future.
Jens hits the first climb of the day and the first cobbles.
A couple of minutes later the bunch is in the same climb. Katusha leads the field while Philippe looks relaxed.
Katusha is probably the strongest team on the cobbled classics. With riders like Hoste, Breschel, Devolder, Kuschynski and Burghardt in the team they have the responsibility to catch Jens Debusschere. Liquigas and Rabobank is working as well.
Many riders starts to become tired and the bunch is pretty streched out. However, there is still no problems for Philippe. He loooks strong and waits for the right moment to attack like a children waits for the preents on Chritsmas.
With two cobbled climbs left the bunch is splitted. There is now a group of 60 riders in the front. The three leaders from Omega Pharma, Degenkolb, van Summeren and Gilbert, is in this group.
Poor little Jens Debusschere... He is caught in the last climb and sinks through the field like a stone in water. He will finish as 60th today.
Kuschynski attacks on the top of the last hill. Cancellara works to catch him and the group is splitted. Degenkolb, van Summeren, Gilbert and Hansen are the only Omega Pharma riders in the first group now.
The last 20kms is plain and the only thing that possible could split this group now is crosswinds. Philippe attacks but he is easily caught. However, Philippe still has a small chanche to win since he will wait for the sprint.
The group sticks together even though attacks by van Summeren and Cancellara.
Martin Elmiger (Ag2r) makes the last attempt to attack with 10kms to go but like all they other attempts it's just waste of energy.
Aleksandr Kuschynski is still working in the front! He is super strong and all the teams will fight about his signature at the end of this season since his contract ends by then. He is the best cobble-domestic at the moment.
Johan van Summeren starts the lead-out with 4kms to go. Philippe Gilbert and John Degenlkolb is just behind him. Everything looks good for Omega Pharma.
Gilbert starts the sprint and nobody are able to follow him and Degenkolb. They celbrates together in the final meters and Degenkold passes Philippe! A double for Omega Pharma while George Hincapie (BMC) takes the 3rd.
Victory for John Degenkolb!
Results:
1 | John Degenkolb | Omega Pharma - Lotto | 2 | Philippe Gilbert | Omega Pharma - Lotto | 3 | George Hincapie | BMC Racing Team |
Philippe Comment: " 1st or 2nd, I really don't care. I won in Strade Appia in front of my team mate van Summeren and now I am second behind by team mate Degenkolb. It's a new classic tomorrow, new chances and who now; Degenkolb will maybe pay back by making the lead-out for me?

[img-l]https://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4210/32400447.png[/img-l] Gent - Wevelgem [img-r]https://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4210/32400447.png[/img-r]
The race leader waves his flag and the race starts. The weather is better today but the wind is blowing harder today so this will be a hard race.
Adam Hansen attacks! He was 17th yesterday but today he has decided to join the break. His shape isn't the best so this good be a good decesion.
Hansen enter the first cobbles in a solo lead. There is a group of three riders behind who probably will catch him but he looks strong so far. This could be a good move by Hansen. If he is caught in the end of the race he could be able to assist his team-mates.
Luke Rowe (Rapha), Fredrik Keissiakoff (Ag2r), Massimo Giunti (Europcar) and Adam Hansen (Omega Pharma) is in the breakaway today.
The bunch is in the first climb. Liquigas leads the bunch while Philippe looks strong. Philippe is in great shape and yesterday he showed an great sprint as well so he is an big favourite today.
The climb is steep but Philipe can follow without any problems. This could be a great day for him!
Adam Hansen leads the break uphill Kemmelberg for the first of two times today.
The bunch enter Kemmelberg! Liquigas is in the lead and the pace is hard. However, Philippe is able to follow without any problems while our sprinters, Greipel and Goddaert, is in trouble.
Liquigas is in the front on the top as well. The bunch is splitted but all Omega Pharma riders stays within the first group.
Adam Hansen is now alone in the front of the race. However, the bunch is just 1 minute behind so hw will probaly be caught soon.
Katusha and Leopard replace Liquigas as the working team and the pace becomes harder. Many riders struggles.
It's an total mess in the Kemmelberg the last time. Cancellara leads the bunch in a hard pace while an car stops in middle of the road. Philippe follows but he is tired, Cancellara looks really strong.
There is agroup of 30 riders in the front after Cancellara's hard pace. Philippe is in this group and André Greipel as well.
"The Gorilla" struggles in the wind and tries to drink some water in a last desperate try to stay within the first group until the sprint.
Team Sky is in the front! That means one thing: Edvald Boasson Hagen is still in this group and he is in great shape!
Team Sky's pace is too much for an tired André Greipel who drops the first group.
Cancellara attacks! The motobike from Suisse is moving in an amazing speed! Devolder and van Summeren follows him. Philippe is waiting for the sprint since Degenkolb struggles.
Cancellara, Devolder and van Summeren are caught and Kuschynski (who else?) is in the front. Matti Breschel should be Katusha's leader now.
Edvald Boasson Hagen attack with 5km to go! His speed is amazing, even more amazing than Cancellar's speed. Nobody can follow him, we are f*cked up!
Edvald Boasson Hagen wins. There was nothing we could do to beat this guy today, he is simply amazing.
Philippe takes the wheel of Matti Breschel in the sprint and that was a good move. Philippe is 3rd and that is a good result in my opinion.
Edvald Boasson Hagen, what an impressive guy!

Congrats Shraggi! Feel free to use the spoiler until next bet!
Comment: Only one thing: Why Boonen? He wasnt even in the startlist? Sharaggi wins this but I am impressed by jt1109 who could have won this if he had read the startlist better. He was right about Gilbert but he was given 157 pts for Boonen. Ouch!
