Great win with Forero.
But even bigger surprise for me is Matysiak as 2nd. Is he even a sprinter? Never have seen him in my story, while Forero is a quite average sprinter there. |

Matysiak is a rider like Valverde, fast in small groups, but can win stages in a slight uphill or when the oponents aren't the best, like in a Polish race or maybe a Tour of Taiwain, for example. This based in results seen in CQ. 
But most of all, good win!

@roturn / Freitas: I'm not at my PCM computer at the moment, but I think he has like 70-71 in sprint and 72-73 in acceleration. He is indeed quite surprising, but I guess he is in a good shape.
@Munique: I have thought about that myself too. In his first two races this season, Forero has had (+4) and (+5). Really lucky.

A big group of riders broke away in the early kilometres to form the day's breakaway. Their maximum advantage was just over 7 minutes, but it decreased fast when the sprinters teams started speeding up the chase and they were caught in the last 10 K.
Once again, Peña was the rider starting our sprint train and once again he wasn't strong enough to move to the front. Both Nishitani and Forero were still a bit tired after the small hill close to the finish, so it didn't look that good for us.
When Nishitani took over, he managed to move a bit forward. However, he wasn't as strong as yesterday, when he easily took the lead. Today, they were still a bit behind, while Greg Van Avermaet was in the lead. Ciolek was sitting in a great position right behind Van Avermaet looking really strong.
It was two other riders who seemed to be the strongest, though. With a kilometer to go, it looked like today's winner would be either Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Cervélo) or Gert Steegmans (Quickstep). Forero was still waiting to make his move and was following Steegmans, who seemed to have the best speed at the moment.
In the end it was Farrar who took the win ahead of Forero, who easily passed Steegmans, as the Belgian lost a lot of speed in the final hundred metres. Steegmans team mate Ciolek finished third, while Nishitani once again made it into the Top 10. Forero retains the overall lead, 4 seconds ahead of Farrar.

Already on the climb up to the first KoM sprint we got some attacks from the bunch. Barredo (Rabobank) attacked, with Monier (Cofidis) and Albasini (HTC) trying to follow.
Monier and Albasini were quickly swept up by the pack again, but Barredo got a nice gap of almost a minute to the pack. On the descent, Garmin's Ryder Hesjedal used his great descending skills to leave the rest of the pack behind.
Hesjedal quickly caught up with Barredo and the two started the day's major climb with a good 50 second buffer over the pack.
Barredo was really strong today. When the climb reached the steepest part he dropped Hesjedal. The pack was now 1'30 behind, so it was beginning to look good for the Spaniard.
Barredo was obviously not just trying to show Hesjedal that he is the strongest of them, as he gapped Hesjedal by a good margin. At the top he was almost a minute ahead of the Canadian.
About a minute behind Hesjedal we had a trio including Cadel Evans (BMC), Sylvain Chavanel (Quickstep) and Roman Kreuziger (Astana). They crossed the KoM half a minute in front of the pack where Cano Ardila and Peña were still sitting.
Chavanel dropped Evans and Kreuziger on the descent and were chasing Barredo alone. Ten kilometres from the line Barredo was 40s ahead of Chavanel and 1'10 ahead of Kreuziger and Evans.
Chavanel managed to catch up with Barredo in the last three kilometres. Well done by the Frenchman. All the other riders were too far behind, so Chavanel and Barredo was going to battle it out for the stage win.
Behind the leading duo we had a group of four. Evans and Kreuziger had caught Hesjedal at the same time as they were joined by Cyril Dessel (AG2R). That group still had a good advantage over the pack, 1'30.
Up front Barredo pipped Chavanel for the stage win by a narrow margin. It was so close that he didn't even celebrate his win. The Spaniard deserved it after being on the attack for 50 kilometres. He also takes over the race lead, eight seconds ahead of Chavanel.
Kreuziger was the fastest in the sprint for third place and the last bonus seconds. Hesjedal really tired out in the end and lost contact with his three breakaway companions. Cano Ardila finished second in the bunch sprint, 8th on the stage. Forero surprisingly stayed in the pack and is still third overall.

Unfortunately, I couldn't play this stage. I tried several times, but it always got stuck on "road geometries". I tried lowering the settings to lowest possible, but it still stopped loading. Because of that, I had to simulate the stage. I simulated it in detailed simulation, as that gives much more realistic results than fast simulating.

Yes, same as beagle, you jsut have two wait couple of minutes. In my case last time I played it, it took about 4/5 minutes to load.

That used to happen to me, so I once tried waiting a little longer and it loaded something about 15 minutes. It's strange, probrably something wrong with the stage.
