I love the cobbled classics. To win one of these races you need not only physical endure, but also mental endurance. It's an amazing test of strenght that only the strongest can endure.

And in the end Cancellara wins.

Break away: Martin Elmiger (AG2R-La Mondiale), Timon Seubert (Team Netapp), Jimmy Engoulvent (Saur-Sojasun), Mitchell Docker (Skil-Shimano), Nelson Oliveira (RadioShack), David Boucher (Omega-Pharma Lotto), Marteen Tjallingi (Rabobank) and David Veilleux (Europcar)

1 minut to the peloton.

It would be great for NetApp if one of their riders could stay in the break for a while.

Because this is PCM, so it's going to end in a 100 rider sprint.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

He's been desperate to ride P-R for years. Dont knock a pure sprinter for wanting to have a go at other races Wink (And its a race where he can 'give back' and help his teammates)

I know that sprinters need to think about a future..and try out, get to know different terrains.
In Roubaix Cavendish as helper is same as in Zoncolan Cavendish as helper..useless.
But if it is the way how we build up for tour 4 stage wins, and green jersey ..then let him ride where ever he likes.

The question then arises: has he gotten fat so he can go better over the cobbles?

Geraint Thomas just crashed. But can continue the race. We`ll see late how hard it was.

Really ? I couldn't see any crash on Eurosport, and no report of crash on paris roubaix ticker or cycling news feed.

I saw 4 riders crashing in the last ~5km. One was definitely Sky, another one could have been Sky as it was a bit black.
Then I read in a German live ticker, that Thomas was one of them together with Cooke.

But all 4 of them wasn`t too bad imo.

So much dust. No wonder this is a tall-rider race, the little men would struggle to find fresh air.
