These national championships are great for newcomers like myself. It helps to judge the best riders from a certain country. I just hope I can sign some of the national champs from Japan and China/Hong Kong, who are already contracted to another team...

i.e. You want to be very nice to Smowz!
I doubt he will sell Arashiro though - who did win the Tour Down Under afterall.

Smowz is my best friend! Haven't you heard?
I think I can persuade him. It might kill 1/4 of my transfer budget, but its worth it, to sign the face of Japanese cycling.
Edit: Is there any point in the new teams, making a press release stating the teams transfer targets/rumours going into the transfer period, or is it merely for fun if one choses to make one?

No-one from the Red Bull squad is off limits - though we are still keen to hold onto our Pacific rim riders.
It will take a good offer for me to release the new Japanese champion Yuki Arashiro. Beppu and Kin-San Wu are certainly riders I would listen too, meanwhile Jianhua Ji needs a protour team.
The Malaysian riders really have not come off and you can be sure failling to win their national title really does resolve the issue of whether I was going to keep Haider.
Valverde: With regard to press releases no-one (apart from SN) actually knows what effect they have. The original idea in the ideas thread was that this would effect the price of the contract offer. As I said in the new players thread be careful about your targets, it may not be the best way to prise a rider away. One of the more intelligent moves I have seen is by Telenor - Auber and Energie Diesal simply have to downsize so targetting their riders makes some sense. Meaning that they need to allow a few riders to be free agents.
It is a grey area though I don't actually know how it works - feel free to put a press release about Arashiro but be warned it may make me a little less likely to sell him to you if I decide to retain him.

Oyeah. Nice double there Nicácio. He has put himself in a very good position to secure one of the few spots I have for foreign riders in the renewal phase.

Your team was Volksbank in 2008, then NVidia for 2 seasons before you made them Bbox. Alex Diniz has been with the team all the way, since 2008

Clearly you didnt follow F1 at any point when Pedro Diniz was still driving, in the late 1990s!

Diniz is not the type of rider you notice that often, I think he rode okay in the Jelejah Malaysia this year... being Bbox's designated leader there.
Actually he was caught up in one of those Alarcon crash moments ruining his chance of a GC top ten!

And to complete this game of Diniz' greatest hits:
2010: Herald Sun Tour, 9th overall

2009: Finishing 5th in the Jacksonville Cycling Classic (first 3 finishers not shown in screenshot)

So basicly, he seems to be one of my better riders.. Nice. Any more surprises before the next season?

There's something really amusing about these smaller NCs, with several running alongside each other.
Excellent reporting nonetheless, I thought it'd be chaos trying to work out 4 national championships at once.

Flags show up in game, its fairly easy from that. Plus the fields arent very big! But theyre fun to do - and the Turkish/Iranian one actually ended up being a good race.
