wait.. what?
edit: I didn't emphasise the what enough.
wait... WHAT???
Exactly the average fanboy position: "BUT HE'S NOT DOPED SINCE HE'S IN CAISSSE!!11!". The CAS resolution says that he'll keep all he's won since Puerto, because there are no proof that he was doped when he won that. So, unsurprisingly, those who invested on that achievements are now shouting proudly how 'legit' they are.
Not what I was saying. The team have stood behind him over the last few years, but now "Oh, we were against him all along"

You should take care where are you reading the news.
I am Spanish and I read the original note (in Spanish) from Abarca Sports.
What they mean at the end is as the suspension comes from a doping which did not happened when he was in Caisse(he was in Comunitat Valenciana), they are not going to fire him. |

What Pesci said.
Although they're covering their own asses. They're telling the press Valverde only saw Fuentes at Kelme when they continued working together until May 2006.
Just like Pellizotti saying the UCI experts don't agree with each other that he should be suspended, or Armstrong saying Landis is claiming his hidden positive was in 2002. Or Contador saying he's always been available for a DNA test to prove the blood bags marked "AC" aren't his, when the fact is the court asked him to and he refused.
It's what people do. They lie in public because they know a lie repeated many times will be believed by many.

If we'll look into it normal court-wise - is a blood bags with someone's blood an absolute evidence of his doping? No! The evidence may be only restricted substances in rider's blood that was took from him.
Blood bags with EPO in them are fairly indicative that the rider will dope. Why else would his blood be there, stuffed full of EPO?
I really hope he swallows his pride for 5 seconds and just admits he was wrong, then he can come back with some dignity like Basso.
He lost all dignity for me my not coming clean with us as soon as the Italian's banned him. In fact, he lost if for me when he didn't come clean with us when it was discovered one of the blood bags was named Valv.Piti. It's not much of a code

Please do not misunderstand!!!
The easiest thing for Caisse now will be fire Alejandro to clean their image, far from that the said that they will support him. Also I do not have to remember that they are looking for an Sponsor for next year, so it would be much easier do not support him to look cleaner!! |

It's not that simple.
Valverde has a huge following in Spain. Most spanish fans at this moment are going on about "the injustice" and how he's innocent and being set up by the italians.
Caisse want him for two reasons. Firstly, he's a massive trump card in finding a new sponsor, since he has that kind of pull with the fans.
Secondly, he can get them tremendous results.
When someone else at Caisse gets suspended, they just fire him and we never hear of the guy again. But Valverde is Valverde.

Very easy to say with absolutely no proof of it.
I think Valverde is not the first reclaim for Caisse trying to look for a new sponsor, because at the end, sooner or later we all new that Valverde will be punish this year. I think Caisse reclaim for the new sponsor is another spanish guy which also try last year to go in the team but he could not because of his actual contract. |

Even easier to say with proof of it
Marco Fertonani. The moment the suspension was confirmed, he was fired. Ever heard of him again?

Exactly. Santander will probably end up sponsoring the team and Contador has just been setting himself up to lead it next year with a frighteningly strong team working for him.

I guess Valverde got suspended for that obvious intention, not for actual doping (even though you'd have to be naive to believe he didn't dope, like Basso). |

They promised to return in 2011.
As we all know, that unmistakably means we'll never hear of the race ever again.

Michael Rasmussen has apparently left Miche (or been kicked out) - either way, I hadn't noticed until an article today where he says that he has signed up for the Danish Championship Considering the fact that the Danish Cycling Union hates him, this will definitely turn into some fun.
He still has mononucleosis, though.

For some odd reason I almost want him to win it - just to stick it to Jesper Worre. But then again, I like seeing the red and white jersey in the Tour, so maybe it's better if Matti wins it again. |

good luck..Landis has done it "succesfuly" 3 years.
edit: read it..hm. ..so he was no able to run TdF anyway ..He won Vuelta few months after that..but this just do not count because he was no able to ride 2009 Tour.. Ergo he's national ban started 2009 July..
I do not follow that logic..

As Valverde used to be my favourite rider, i don't want him to do this, it wil ruin his career for good, and if he confessess all, when his ban is over i will support and like him again. |

in other news the direct CAS ruling in this case may have a big impact on the case of Jan Ullrich, who has never been sanctioned although his DNA was matched with blood bags in OP, as there is still a CAS appeal running from UCI and suisse anti-doping against the suisse cycling federation which didnt feel responsible in the Ullrich case. |

He's already 30. So, he'll be back with (almost) 32 years. |
