VUELTA CICLISTA AL PAIS VASCO
Stage 6: Ellorio - Alto de Elgeta
7.2 km
13/04

i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/harry1978/paisvascostage6.jpg

BUGNO - BOMBINI - GOTTI - KUMMER - PASSERA - SCHUR - VOLPI - ZANATTA

The 7.2 km ITT was too short to really shuffle the general standings.
i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/harry1978/paisvascostage6_rominger.jpg
Rominger (Toshiba) was the first one to set a fast time. It eventually would bring him to the 2nd place in the stage rankings.
i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/harry1978/paisvascostage6_breukink.jpg
Breukink (PDM) did an OK job and secured 4th position, but was too slow to steal 3rd from Roosen (Tulip).
i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/harry1978/paisvascostage6_bugno.jpg
Bugno did what he had to do and won todays stage and could only hope that Chioccioli (Del Tongo) would lose a lot of time.
i963.photobucket.com/albums/ae120/harry1978/paisvascostage6_chiocc.jpg
He didn't. Chioccioli (Del Tongo) wins the Vuelta al Pais Vasco. Bugno (Gatorade) is 2nd but does bring home the points jersey.

I get a little excited when I'm winning, so I got a lot of races done. Just went trough Paris Roubaix. The update will follow soon. Schur did a great job, but fell and lost 2 minutes on the pack when the favourites attacked. His yellow bar was still full so I'm confident that he would have scored world cup points. Now he finished 38th. Ballerini won by the way. A very good winner for Paris Roubaix.
