Only slept from 4:30 am to 5:15, I watched the whole race otherwise. Endurance is really the thing, I enjoy it much more than Formula 1 for a couple of years now.
Peugeot had never broken an engine before, they broke three, and would probably have broken a fourth one, had the chassis not broken earlier on. They brought an evolution between Spa and Le Mans, looks like the guy who conceived it will have to look for a new job tomorrow.
Too bad, they had it in the pocket otherwise, even with 20 horse power less. At least they kept the pressure on until they broke, only victory is worth it.
Aston Martin, if you mean their LMP1 car, it's all their own fault that they were so slow. Through development, despite more restricting regulations, the diesel engines gained 3 to 5 seconds a lap this year. Aston Martin (Pro drive) didn't do any development on their car since last year. And their best lap is about 4 seconds down. Then they had much, much, weaker drivers. Instead of having a top team and a gentlemen drivers team, they mixed them, but I guess it's in Primat's contract to drive on the top car, with Mucke and Fernandez. Turner would have fit his seat much better on a strictly sportive point of view.
Olivier Panis is just past it too, he let Duval and Lapierre do the final rush, as they were much faster than him.
#7 car is also past it I'm afraid. Tom K is not as fast as he used to be, Capello is getting worst and worst, and even though McNish remains one of the very best prototypes driver, he doesn't have such a big margin any more, and he's getting old. I wouldn't be surprised they'd be sent to retirement next season, like Biela, Werner, Luhr, Pirro, etc. before them.

The Canadian GP.
What an insane goddamned race.

I was going to watch but I had to record it on the PVR because I had other things I had to report to, then I got home and decided to watch some World Cup first only to get the race results thrown at me before I could even look away. From the highlights it looked like a great race.

Indeed, brilliant. Isn't it great to have it back on the calendar? Montreal's probably my second favourite track behind Spa. It just goes to show also how exciting races could be if the tyres were less effective. At the beginning of the race, it was so confusing, with everything changing constantly and the advantage swinging one way then the other. Tyre strategy + tyre wear management dominated the race.
Great day again for Mclaren, but full marks to Buemi and Liuzzi too, coming back from that first corner incident. The backmarkers had a fun day too, with them having a big impact on the front of the race. But there were entertaining battles everywhere, all the way through the course of the race. It's just a shame Mr Schumacher seemed determined to ruin everybody else's race. Still, he's having a shocker of a season, and quite frankly, it's rather fun to watch.
The BBC commentary usually gets me annoyed, but there was an absolutely hilarious moment when TV coverage showed Glock's Virgin car vacant in the pitlane mid race, with the mechanics searcing underneath it, to which Brundle said something like (can't remember exactly) "It looks like Glock's fallen underneath the car." It was just one of those fantastic surreal moments

Also, 5 laps from the end on the radio:
Vettel: "What is the fastest lap of the race?"
Team: "DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING IT. We have a car problem. Lower the revs and take it easy"
Hilarious

Canadian GP...yeah, love it.
I remember Jos Verstappen had one of his few races where he didn't crash his car into the race leader or something else, but where he actually had a great race in the rain, in an Arrows for goodness sake, taking over Jenson Button and some other dude to finish 4th..
He was always good in the rain, probably because the speed was lower so he couldn't fuck up much. |

That was excellent, although, as the team had said about a lap earlier that he had to overtake the cars in front, it was slightly strange that there was then an "issue"

The current F1 drivers (all of them) were polled this weekend to vote on a truckload of stuff. From the best F1 driver ever, to the most aggressive current driver, most likeable, etc.
I don't really care much for the results, except.....an unnamed driver's vote for "Most beautiful woman in the paddock" was.....Nico Rosberg.
Unresolved sexual issues much?

Nah, just that Rosberg is nicknamed "Britney", cause of his constant look at his baby face in any mirror that's on his way.
I guess Schumi voted for him. |

Sebastian Vettel is the new world champion.
New points system rocks, two races ago, I never thought seeing him winning the championship. |

Way to screw an entire season up Ferrari. Brilliant tactics.
Also, the Spanish press asking Petrov why did he defend his position so "aggressively" made me lulz.

I also hoped for Webber. He is quite sympathic and so this year might be his last chance. Vettel can win it still a few times. But best thing is that Alonso didn`t take it, don`t like him at all.
EDIT: The Rosberg vote is my fault, clicked the wrong guy ^^
