How did you manage that Dan? That must be some kind of record!
I was late for the Edinburgh marathon when i did it a couple of years ago, but only 30 minutes - i just managed to tag on to the back of the last group going through the startline - it was quite good though because I didn't have the whole inching forward over the startline thing!

I've been cycling in Pyrénées last August, with people from Cyanide forum (don't mock me now ).
Here are a the pictures : https://sortiecya0...yrock.com/ sorry if the comments there are written in some weird language.
We cycled there six days in a row, with rain on the first two days.
We did :
- Cauterets (Pont d'Espagne and Crês des Lys) the first day, Crês des Lys is where all stages finishing in Cauterets end.
- Hautacam the second day. I did it in less than one hour, quite an achievement.
- Soulor + Aubisque the third day
- Tourmalet (from Luz, less famous side then) the fourth day
- We climbed to Gavarnie the fifth day (that day was a mess)
- Luz Ardiden the last day, less than one hour there again
Too bad I fell ill from the fourth day till I came back home, that harmed my performances a bit, but anyway, it wasn't a race. No single tourist overtook us though. |

EDIT: bah, not enough shots of it Yeah, it was the last day, so we took no cameras to gain a little weight as we had agreed to climb it as fast as possible.
There aren't that many tourists there, and it's not worth Boucharo (judging from the pics, I didn't go up there) regarding the landscapes. |

I climbed a hill yesterday, or better yet, I did not climb it. Did the first 7 meters and completely stopped. Dismounted the bike, looked up, hurt my neck, cursed the hill, and as I was turning around to go back I stopped again, turned around, cursed it again and climbed it running along with the bike.
I couldn't go home thinking about it. On the way back I sprinted on a flat cobble zone. That's the only terrain where I feel at home. |

I got stuck in the second group when a couple Asians from the San Jose Bike Club blocked me... But out of that Group of 15 or so guys I kicked ass finished second (in my split) and pretty much dictated how we raced. I had 2 teamates get stuck with me and we drove the split and tried our hands at a couple breaks. In the end A break of 3 won the race, and I think 4th was my teamate Ethan. I only did the Juniors race cause I didn't want to start the cat 4 race 10 minutes after finishing the Juniors. Field about 50 riders.
The team Captain Tyler took 3rd in the Cat 3 race and Ryan took 5th, Ethan was also top 15.Keep in mind I ride for a juniors team. That was in a field of 100.

Next Sunday I won't have to drive all the way to Napa to race... Only to Santa Rosa. Another Criterium. <3 Criteriums
now I anxiously await waghlon's entertaining comments.

That's something else than my races (only thing that apologizes me is that I've been racing for first year) : I'm happy if I'm not dropped in the first climb. BUt on the track I can finish in the first half of the start-field (my favourite is scratch and 2kms) |

I bet you love them criteriums. They're chuckfull of mormons on their velocipedes' and the route is usually left-left-left-left-finish.
