First Round
Coming saturday we're up for round one with the Italian sprint classic Milaan - Sanremo. Here are the details and more things I want you to know.
First of all we are playing in Gamecenter with competition mode OFF.
The name of the race will allways be PCMDaily but the password will be sent to the people that have registerd trough PM each round, to prevent other people joining in and taking a team that doesnt belong to him/her.
We will allways play with the new AaB-ern Ladder Database, since this one is the most fair.
So, about the first race. Milaan Sanremo.
We will race it next saturday, at 16:00 GMT. This migth be a little later since most of us probably want to see the Giro di Lombardia of which I dont know the time that they will finish but it will be around 16:00 I think.
The winner of this race will automaticly lead the tournament for at least one day and maybe I'll make an avatar for it just like doddy has for his cycling weekly quiz.
You do not have to join every round. If you just cant be on the time we play theres no problem. you just have less chance to score points.
Cheating in any way will result to a banishment from this competition since we want to keep it fair. Under cheating are the following things:
- Team attack (you are allowedf to have 2 riders max in the break. of course if you put 2 in the early break and on the last mountain you leader attacks from the pack and reaches those 2 it won't be considerd team attack)
- Putting a men behind your sprinter in the train and when other sprinter follow, set him to 0% so the other sprinter are out and your man can win.
- Work together with someone else so one of you two can easily win the tournament because he has double the amouth of helpers.
- and all other things that are unfair but which I forgot.
I think thats everything I need to say. If you have any questions feel free to ask. |

also, let's say someone's leader has a puncture on the flat or a crash or such, at the early or middle part of a stage (I mean in a non-decisive part of the stage)
if someone else decides to be a jackass and get his riders to pull like madmen to drop the other guy out of contention, does that count as cheating or just an extreme lack of fair play?

I might be in as well, but problem is that I never have things planned days ahead, so I don't know if I'm home |

cheating and and extreme lack of fair play is the same imo.
and yes, I think this would be cheating. if a rider is down and has a flat tire you shouldnt pull the pack. of course... if the favoutrites start to attack at that moment because it is at the foot of the final climb or on the final cobble section it's just bad luck.
but this will depend what the race situation is but if nothing is happening it would be cheating indeed.

I odnt really get how this works.
So if its a 2man break, they are not allowrd to work together? And you cant protect a rider from another team anyway.

it means you're not allowed to use your riders to try to get someone else to win with no regard whatsoever for your own chances. basically you're not allowed to put your riders at the disposal of someone else just because you want person B to win more than person
also, I'm finding the 2 guy per break limit interesting. in real life races, it's perfectly normal for teams to have 3. by limiting it to 2, that's going to severely affect the chances of breaks making it. that could make it all about a sprint up the final climb...
final question: no form of the day, right?

no. well... I got to admit I didnt explain this really clear what I mean but here I go.:
If you and me work together to get my leader the victory in every race we play. I will easily win this tournament because my helpers will pull the pack if needed and your will help me to do so. we can both put 2 men in the early break, my leader jups to it on the final climb and we got 4 men working 99% for him. the break makes it and my leader can easilt win.
you got it now???
you wouldnt understand if people who would help others like this excist that but believe me, they do |

The second round will be coming sunday at 14.00 GMT. This race will be Critérium International. We will race all three races. One flat, one hilly and a short TT. It will be a good indication to see what to expect from other players the rest of the tournament.
Allso I want to note stage stage races(in this case only Romandie) will not allways be raced completely since it would just take too much time. For Romandie we could drop at least one of the TTs and a flat stage and mabe one or 2 more so it wont take a whole day to finish it. Criterium international is only 3 stages so thats no problem but 9 stages romandie is a bit too much. When that race comes I'll select which stages to do and which not to do. |

With thanks to doddy here is the avatar for the tournament leader:
You'll get the link when you're the leader immediatly after the race and the previous leader is asked to remove the avatar immediatly after the race if he isn't leader anymore. |
