I am supporting Ghana and wish they win this, just because all Americans go crazy about WC & soccerball for just one match and then they completely disappear.

I wonder why teams like Brazil, Australia, Greece, Switzerland, Bosnia, Portugal or Ghana didn't know that the game starts whith the kick-off. For them, the game only started after the first allowed goal and for some of them, the game also ended at that very moment... Idiots... |

Thats just not true, and I find the reasoning behind it superficial.
You are aware there is a very popular soccer league based in the United States (and Canada) that is extremely successful and ever on the rise?

I doubt about "very popular" and "extremely successful". Agree with Admir about this "phenomenon".

And if we took a poll on this site, how many people do you think would vote that the first ever cycling race they ever watched was the Tour de France?

I don't see the relationship between the two sentences to be honest

It averages similar attendance records to the other major sports in the USA and it is run by probably the best commissioner of all the north american sports. The growth of the league in the past decade has been insane.
The Gold Cup final has 60k people in attendance at Soldier Field. The average attendance throughout the whole tournament was 36k with the entire tournament based in the USA and keep in mind most of the matches wouldn't have even included the USA.
The MLS is ranked 8th in terms of number of players at this world cup worldwide. That is fairly good.
While it isn't totally true the MLS was ranked as the 7th best Soccer league in the world. Its got to have some sort of success for that to happen even if the quality isnt necessarily as high as some european leagues.

The Tour is the most popular cycling event. Even non cycling fans will watch it. Its the most televised cycling event and its the most popular event for people to get into the sport of cycling.
The world cup is the most popular football/soccer event. Even non football/soccer fans will watch it. Its the most televised football/soccer event. Its the most popular event for people to get into the sport.
My point being, most people got into cycling by starting to watch the Tour, and it then they enjoy it and start really following the sport. The same can be said for the World Cup.
What exactly is wrong with supporting your own country anyway? I do not give a damn about Canada in many sports for example baseball. As a casual fan of a sport like Rugby which I dont normally follow but have an interest in, Im going to follow/support them in the more high profile events.

Point taken, and whilst Admir made a blanket statement about the nature of all Americans a few hundred thousand true devoted MLS fans isn't enough to offset this occurance.
