But it doesn't mean that Vino will be in the Tour. He said himself that he would target the Giro - not the Tour. So I guess that it won't cause any problems. |

So just to get this straight, you guys think that Cunego is still on drugs, or that he stopped after his phenomenal 2004 season?
Also do you think there is less doping amongst the top riders in the ardennes classics, than in the grand tours? He may have quitted dope during the last TDF and not have started again. He'd still benefit from the long terms effects if that was case though.
We won't be able to judge before next season whether he's still on it or not.
That being said, his 2004 Giro wasn't as strong in terms of wattage than his 2006 and 2007 ones (he had a mononucleosis in 2005, hadn't he ?), he had tactical luck that year and the opposition wasn't that strong, but clearly he didn't regress since then, he only improved. That's where wattage calculations can be useful. |

...besides, the main doping abuse these days, takes place during the off-season. Not during races.
It could be interesting though, if they tested hct levels literally on the starting line! |

Andrey Amador to Caisse, and get this: Rujano's out the door.
So, I've been saying for almost a year that this would be his penultimate chance, his last being whenever he goes back to Savio's team, the only man who ever motivated him.
Is this the time he's going back to join Savio? With Simoni already there I doubt Savio has the budget. |

Wrölich -> Milram
Apparently they only want Germans and Austrians. It's like Arian-nation over there. Creepy.

You can't say typical Cunego peformances Issoisso, because he won the Amstel Gold Race and got 2nd in the worlds. So was he jus doped for those races?
Explain to me how you look at "Leave the drugs aside and you'll have Popovych and Cunego style performances." and read "Cunego was doped at the April Classics and the Worlds but not at the Tour"
But since you mention it, here's something I thought was interesting:
At the Tour, the AFLD's president was being asked by journalists about the riders who were warned their blood values were very suspicious.
Apparently, a journalist asked if Cunego was one of them. He smiled and pretended to change the subject, but in fact (according to the journalists present), it was clear to all he was talking about Cunego. he said:
"Some riders were doing very well at the start [remember Cunego's stellar initial TT?] but as soon as they were warned of their blood values, the values started going back to normal....even if their performances did the opposite" Cunego's blood values are different from the others...This is his normal blood values which you are talking about |

I know he has an exemption for "naturally high values", but as we saw with Riccò those exemptions are in many cases bullshit and the values aren't natural. ANyway, if those were his natural values, Bourdry wouldn't have said that Cunego's values went back to normal after they warned him. |

And he's a dopehead. If he wasn't doped his performance would be much lower than the averageness it already is.
EDIT:
wait....how can I be overhyped and overrated if nobody knows me? I'd say that's a conundrum.

How often is it that I have transfer news that nobody else does
Tim Farnham to Bissle
Who the hell is Tim Farnham? He is a local racer from Petaluma(same town as Cozza) and is built a lot like Tom Zirbel except he can sprint and do short punchy climbs better than most.
He is stoked cause he gets free pinarello's

First of all, Bissel, and second of all, who wouldn't be stoked about free Pinarello's? |

Lotto has assembled an insane team they are going to be really strong the the whole year around next yr. Strong classics team, couple of good young sprinters and they've really boosted their climbing ranks for the grand tours. Its going to be interesting to see them go up against astana in the TDF next yr: Evans Kohl Dekker VDB vs. Contador Armstrong Kloden and LL. Astana is still way stronger on paper but will be interesting. |
