I don't get why people always moan about being last in a draft nowadays. I don't remember anything similar from the UCPCL, but i may be forgetting. Do a draft properly (serpentine) and you create a fair system and people who moan are just bitching for personal reasons with no basic argument.
I've looked back at the UCPCL draft before, and i can safely say the best teams were not necessarily the top teams in the draft order! Some of the best teams just played it strategically perfect to assemble a great team.
Being last is being last and getting 33rd would be tough, it's how a draft is supposed to work. Though if you knew you were 33rd i doubt very much you'd get 33rd of your choices unless you were extremely unlucky or stupid. But then again you'd be first up in the next round (using a serpentine) to balance that out. Easily possible to get someone like Kelderman or Kennaugh in R1 (a non-big name rider who is still good) then cherry pick whoever was left. Suddenly you've got the basis of a nice team coming along!
I also wasn't saying that this would have worked with the MFS system. Obviously it wouldn't as that only works if you start with riders in your team. That is also what i mean about comparing it to the Man-Game. The two systems are fairly similar in basis, and that is what i most enjoy.
Equally i'm not complaining about the system you've used. Just that it is new to everyone and we are all still trying to understand it. It is more complex than a draft or traditional system, and you can tell that by the number of questions being asked. Doesn't make it a bad or unfun system, just that it is new and hasn't had all the kinks worked out yet. If it was to be run again i'm sure you would make some changes to the system and everyone would have a better understanding. It would then run smoother and people would think better of it.
I found this system interesting and different. I got confused at times and think it could be simpler, and fairer. The .2 and .3 parts add complication that could be avoided. Also the randomly selecting a team in case of tie i don't like, i would just keep running rounds until a team drops out. I would also not put this Transfer Round in before more bidding rounds, i struggle to see the logic. Just do it afterwards when everyone has full teams, it would make it a lot simpler and clearer.

the problem is people only start complaining when everything is well underway, and things aren't going good for them.
I admit, I was confused at the .2 transfers too, which is why I have to get rid of Cancellara now.  |

You complained about those hidden bids, so I could try to make a more open bidding process. If it works out good, I will use that for the next transfer season. What do you think? |

Yes but you are going to be bankrupt after this round if you don't sell some riders. May I remind you:
Watch out that you don't go over [the budget]. If you do, one of your best riders will be removed. |

What if Emre gets Cancellara and go bankrupt? I guess making Cancellara free agent again and giving all the money Emre wanted to pay to mvhoogdalem would be a fair option.
And I agree, we should definitely try the new system in round 3.

I don't know if that new system will be to messy. I mean for round 3 it will be ok if we try because there won't be so many people still wanting to buy riders. But imagine we all had to sign 15 riders or so: You wouldn't have a chance to keep the overview then imo.

Emre, if you go over budget you get a fine and lose your best riders till you're normal again. So it could be you lost both Boonen and Cancellara if you don't watch out.
