Now that's an opinion I can take, even though I disagree. Football is a game of emotions and players aren't robots. I strongly dislike Pepe and I don't think he did well there. My opinion is just that he merely responded in an angry fashion in order to intimidate his opponent due to his previous theatrical scene.

In a way, yes.
But on the other hand, apperantly that's just football. Show me one footballer who never goes down unless he can avoid it. One footballer who won't try to claim a penalty even if he's in the wrong...

Any physical contact is disallowed after a foul or in any kind of pause (indirect call, hand or anything similar) and that is more than clear. It would be the same if he just touched him with the head & if he kicked him so hard that he started bleeding. It was intentional and any further discussion stops.
He, without any reason (actually, it would be more reasonable that Muller was the one that started it), attacked & headbutted Muller and it is a clear red card there.

I think you are missing the point. If Müller does not fall like that, the ref will not interfere. But according to the rules a hit with an arm is a foul (no matter how hard) and therefore be sanctioned. So the problem comes from the louzy referees, not the football players.
I would be happy if the players would stop using their arms to hit and hold but until they do, it would be the job of the referee to stop it. I don't know why they don't do it because it would be quite easy, just give a yellow for every hit with the hand or ellbow and it would stop within weeks.

In slow motion, everything looks like barely touching. Try it in real life and come back to describe your sudden pain.
And it's not like he whined and cried on the ground and didn't stop until the ref gives that bad bad guy hurting me right theeeere a red card like that crybaby Ronaldo and in fact Pepe himself does ever so often.
Let's rest the case here, it didn't change the outcome of the game and you should win against Ghana and USA without him as well if you want any chance of doing a decent KO phase anyway.
