There is no better way to finish your first Tour de France: helping a teammate to win the GC, win the white jersey and wore the yellow jersey.

News
Hi everyone,
I'm finally back. I've missed you all! It's been a hard couple of weeks, since the injury. But the great performance at the Tour really lifted my spirits. Eric did excellent, he really got himself noticed.
I'm racing the Eneco Tour, starting tomorrow. I'm not in a great shape yet, since it's been a while since I've raced, but I'll try to get into shape and maybe squeeze out a stage win in the second part of it?
Some transfer news before I go to sleep:
Transfers
Giro winner Mollema will joing Omega Pharma - Quickstep.
Flecha will go back to Rabobank.
L.L. Sanchez will join Katusha.
Petacchi will go to Lampre, his career still isn't finished, so it seems.
Fuglsang will join Team Sky.
News from Lotto-Belisol
Van De Walle is retired. The beautiful victory of team-mate and dear friend Jurgen Van Den Broeck was the perfect ending to his career, he said. The Champs-Elysée was his final race. He'll definitely be missed. However, he's staying around behind the screens, his role is still unknown, though. (maybe he'll be a trainer/coach...)
Three trainées have joined us. One rider from Wallonie, Canale. One Flemish rider, Vermeirsch and one very talented puncher from the United States of America, Vasser! The latter will be sent to the Vuelta. |

Great Tour for Eric: young jersey, top ten and important help for VDB's victory.
EDIT: Did you create this Eric and Stjin or are they 2 young riders discoverd with observer?

@johannes-w: Thanks, I like that shot myself It just shows the strength of this team.
@sutty68: Thank you. I hope so, too. But the first stages will be difficult, it's been a month and a half without any races.
@ste_18: I spend a big part of my camping trip creating them I must've had 100 different ideas and 100 names before I finally found what I really wanted to do. (and what names I wanted)
@FreitasPCM: Thanks! Yeah, now that I'm still on holiday, I want to make most of it PCM-wise, because when school starts, this story will take a dive, post-wise.
@fcancellara:
Next race will probably be later today or possibly tomorrow. Need some time to recup |

I just think that this story is tied with the Monster Energy one, they are by far the best ones (no offense to anyone). It was a great TDF for Eric and the Lotto boys. Good luck for Stijn's return. Congratulations! |

Eneco Tour - Stages 1 - 3
Welcome to this Eneco Tour. I start here after a pretty long absence from cycling. My expectations aren't very high, but I do expect some good results. After all, I'm still young and I should be back on track in no time.
Main Goal: I hope for a stage win and the points jersey. With all flat races and one cobbled race, I should be well positioned for GC, too. But that's not my goal, because of the final time trial.
Stage 1
A prologue. I did a pretty decent job, ending in the top 10.
Result
1 | Fabian Cancellara | BMC Racing Team | 6'01 | | 2 | Manuele Boaro | Team Saxo Bank | s.t. | | 3 | Alex Rasmussen | Team Garmin-Barracuda | + 2 | | 4 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | + 5 | | 5 | Thor Hushovd | Orica-GreenEDGE | + 7 | | 6 | Lars Boom | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 9 | | 7 | Niki Terpstra | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t. | | 8 | Stijn Van Gent | Lotto-Belisol | + 10 | IanButler | 9 | Denis Menchov | Katusha Team | + 12 | | 10 | Kristof Vandewalle | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | + 15
Stage 2
A flat stage, ending in a mass sprint. I had the honor of wearing the Young Jersey.
I chose Kittel's wheel for the sprint, turned out to be a good decision. I finish just outside the top 3.
Result
1 | Marcel Kittel | Rabobank Cycling Team | 4h06'21 | | 2 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 3 | Daniele Bennati | Radioshack Nissan Trek | s.t. | | 4 | Stijn Van Gent | Lotto-Belisol | s.t. | IanButler | 5 | Jürgen Roelandts | Lotto-Belisol | s.t. | IanButler | 6 | Daniel Oss | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t. | | 7 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 8 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t. | | 9 | Greg Van Avermaet | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | | 10 | Fabio Sabatini | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t.
Stage 3
A mass crash before the finish turns the race up side down. I was just able to avoid a falling Cavendish and found myself up front, ready for the sprint.
I got in Roelandts' wheel and he found Boonen's
I was very strong today and finish second.
Result
1 | Daniele Bennati | Radioshack Nissan Trek | 4h53'28 | | 2 | Stijn Van Gent | Lotto-Belisol | s.t. | IanButler | 3 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t. | | 4 | Kristof Goddaert | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | | 5 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 6 | Marcel Kittel | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | | 7 | Romain Feillu | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 8 | Jürgen Roelandts | Lotto-Belisol | s.t. | IanButler | 9 | Greg Van Avermaet | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | | 10 | Manuel Belletti | Lampre-ISD | s.t.
At the end of the third stage, these are the classifications:
GC
1 | Fabian Cancellara | BMC Racing Team | 9h05'50 | | 2 | Alex Rasmussen | Team Garmin-Barracuda | + 2 | | 3 | Stijn Van Gent | Lotto-Belisol | + 4 | IanButler | 4 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | + 5 | | 5 | Thor Hushovd | Orica-GreenEDGE | + 7 | | 6 | Lars Boom | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 9 | | 7 | Niki Terpstra | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t. | | 8 | Daniele Bennati | Radioshack Nissan Trek | + 10 | | 9 | Marcel Sieberg | Team Saxo Bank | + 11 | | 10 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | + 12
Points
1 | Stijn Van Gent | Lotto-Belisol | 53 | IanButler | 2 | Daniele Bennati | Radioshack Nissan Trek | 45 | | 3 | Edvald Boasson Hagen | Sky Pro Cycling | 41 | | 4 | Marcel Kittel | Rabobank Cycling Team | 40 | | 5 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | 38 | | 6 | Tom Boonen | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | 37 | | 7 | Fabian Cancellara | BMC Racing Team | 36 | | 8 | Jürgen Roelandts | Lotto-Belisol | 29 | IanButler | 9 | Kristof Goddaert | Ag2r La Mondiale | 28 | | 10 | Greg Van Avermaet | BMC Racing Team | 24
I'm doing better than expected. Just waiting for that first stage win after my break! But there's no pressure on me, team management already told me my season was over the top fantastic, so whatever I do now, is a bonus for them.
I'll bring you the rest of the races later!
