As long as Monster Enegry isn't on the black list, he's clean, just like the rest of the team Cool

75 in the middle of January...there are some special steaks in the air, I can smell it Grin

btw great story, I hope you won´t lose motivation to report for long time Smile

I always send my riders in January on a 7-days training camp. Some think it's cheating as the AI can't do it, but I always do this. Not the rest of the season, no training camps than.

And thanks about your feedback! really appreciate it. And I'm planning to continue this for a while!

After a nice dinner with a bottle of champagne, the riders had a good night of sleep, and are full of energy to shine in stage 4. The stage from Norwood to Tanunda is only 130 kilometres long and has 2 categorized climbs in it. After 32 kilometres Smith Hill and after 109 kilometres Menglers Hill (2.7km at 7.3%). The last summit is only 21 kilometres before the finish.
img196.imageshack.us/img196/5509/1route.jpg

The team again works hard to keep the pack tgether in the first 32 kilometres, so Jack Bobridge can collect some more KOTM-points on Smith Hill. And he succeeds in it! Another 16 points are in the bag.
img687.imageshack.us/img687/3495/3kotm1.jpg

The pace drops, so 5 riders go on an adventure: Lloyd Mondory (AG2R), Davide Frattini (United Health Care), Arnaud Coyot (Saur), Zdenek Stybar (Omega Pharma) and Daniel Lloyd (Garmin). They get a maximum lead of 3'30. Because Lloyd is a thread for the KOTM-jersey, we decide to lead the chase. But Bobridge is struggling in the last part towards Menglers Hill and is unlikely to collect more points. But the peloton has almost caught the breakaway. In the ascend, Bjorn Leukemans (BMC) is the first to attack. 22km to go.
img684.imageshack.us/img684/5807/422km.jpg

The Belgian rider is the first on the summit of Menglers Hill, followed by Frattini and Mondory. Behind them happens a lot.
img827.imageshack.us/img827/6321/5kotm2.jpg

8 riders have created a small gap. Besides the early escapees Mondory, Lloyd and Frattini, we see GC-leader Fabian Cancellara (Nissan), Francesco Ginanni (Androni), Bjorn Leukemans & Martin Elmiger (BMC) and Michael Rogers (Sky). They have 15 kilometres to go and defend a 40-second lead against a group of 19 riders with Niki Terpstra, Martijn Maaskant and Lieuwe Westra in it. We play the card of Westra again, so the other 2 lead the chase.
img84.imageshack.us/img84/2581/615km.jpg

And the 19 man are faster, or cooperate better, than the 8 leaders. We see a regrouping with 10 kilometres to go. The peloton is over a minute behind.
img5.imageshack.us/img5/6089/710km.jpg

Lieuwe Westra has looked around him in the leaing group and thinks taht Koldo Fernández (Euskaltel) is the best sprinter, so he has chosen his wheel. Under the flamme rouge, Michael Rogers, Bjorn Leukemans and Andriy Gryvko (Astana) are in the lead. Westra sees that Fernández isn't fast enough and starts his sprint. But he is still in 8th place and possibly too far behind.
img828.imageshack.us/img828/5063/81km.jpg

But the Dutch champion has found, or created, a gap and jumps forward! With only 400 metres remaining he is in 4th place, behind Rogers, Cancellara and Leukemans, but going way faster!
img64.imageshack.us/img64/4935/9400m.jpg

And Westra claims his 2nd win of the Tour Down Under! Yesterday, he had a strong punch, today he has the best sprint in a group of 27 riders! Cancellara gets 2nd, Sébastien Joly (Saur) 3rd.
For some strange reason, the peloton has got the same finish time as the leading group. Strange, because they were at least a minute behind....

Word from the DS
Yesterday's win was hoped for, but today's win is a real surprise! It was the good decision to stay calm at Menglers Hill and the great work by Terpstra and Maaskant brought Westra in a very good situation towards the sprint. Tomorrow is Willunga Hill, probably the decisive stage. We have 2 goals now: stay in the Top 3 and defend the KOTM-jersey.

I don't think it's cheating at all because if it is then why is it in the game plus i alweays send my whole squad on a pre season camp prior to the Australian Championships and it just slightly improves their fitnessSmile

Willunga Hill, the decisive stage every year.... Or that's what the tour direction want it to be. In the 151 kilometres from McLaren Vale to Willunga Hill the riders face the Willunga Hill twice, and the finish is uphill. A real stage for the puncheurs. At least that's what everybody thinks, but the stage is classified as flat...
img710.imageshack.us/img710/9433/1route5.jpg

14 riders try to surprise the peloton with an early and big breakaway group. Most known names are Lloyd Mondory (AG2R), LS Haedo (Saxo), Taylor Phinney (BMC), Marcel Sieberg (Lotto), Greg Henderson (Astana) and Ottavio Bulgarelli (Farnese). The maximum gap is 6'30. Haedo wins the first Intermediate sprint, followed by Bulgarelli and Mondory. The 2nd IS goes to Bulgarelli, with Mondory and Haedo close behind him.
img43.imageshack.us/img43/2731/2isj.jpg

After the first ascend of Willunga Hill, 24,5 kilometres remaining, the 14 leaders stay up front. Kirk O'Bee (United HC) collects the most points, followed by Carlos Oyarzun (Movistar) and Mondory. The peloton is 1'55 behind.
img202.imageshack.us/img202/3495/3kotm1.jpg

Especially Monster Energy - Ford does the most work in chasing the breakaway, and 4500 metres before the finish, the bOTD is caught.
img812.imageshack.us/img812/3707/45km.jpg

Quickly after the beginning of the ascend, Koldo Fernández (Euskaltel) and Maarten Tjallingii (Rabobank) attack / start the sprint. We already know that our work won't pay off today, the daily for from Westra is bad (-2).
img844.imageshack.us/img844/6779/52km.jpg

Fernández and Tjallingii lead the group into the last kilometre. Mark Cavendish and Bjorn Leukemans are closely behind.
img404.imageshack.us/img404/6709/61km.jpg

Surprisingly, Fernández manages to stay in the lead the entire climb! He easily wins the Willunga Hill-stage. Leukemans gets 2nd place, Tjallingii the 3rd. Lieuwe Westra gets the 14th place. Only he and Terpstra finish within the first group, the others loose '51.

We failed in one goal, but achieved in getting the other. First the bad news: Westra dropped to 3rd in the GC. Than the good news: Bobridge is going to win the KOTM-jersey, just like last year.

The 6th and last stage is a 90 kilometre criterium in the streets of Adelaide. No big difficulties are expected.
img832.imageshack.us/img832/1915/1routev.jpg

Lithuanian Tomas Vaitkus (GreenEdge) has attacked with 20 kilometres to go and gets a 1'30 lead. But the peloton is in control and Vaitkus knows he won't make it.
img718.imageshack.us/img718/4441/2vaitkus.jpg

he gets close, but under the flamme rouge, he gets caught. Lampre has done most of the work. Gavazzi is leading out Alessandro Petacchi. Our riders can't follow the high pace (can't seem to stay in someone's wheel for some unkown reason) and are way behind.
img525.imageshack.us/img525/6862/31km.jpg

And indeed it's the firstwin of the year for Ale Jet. 38 years old, and still capable of winning mass sprints! Mark Cavendish finishes in 2nd place and Juan José Haedo in 3rd. Best Monster is Westra in 20th place.

hese Uggs are awesome! They are amazingly comfortable, and I can acquaint they would be absolutely warm. But I’m acutely abiding them because I wish to abrasion them

Otherwise, I would accumulate these boots in a heartbeat.

Because I abrasion a admeasurement 12, I was actual aflame to acquisition a added feminine cossack that aswell was almost collapsed and had acceptable traction. The

Our 2nd stage race this year will be the Giro della Calabria. It's a 3-stage race in the South of Italy (the point of the the boot), in the region of Calabria. The first 2 stages will suit the puncheurs/climbers, whereas stage 3 normally ends in a mass sprint. A nice stage race in the beginning of the season, with beautiful weather.
Last year's race was won by Geran Stefan Schumacher. The former doping sinner managed to beat Lampre's Grega Bole and brought his 2011-team Miche a great victory!

Our team

The favourites
*** Thomas Dekker, Stefano Garzelli (Acqua et Sapone), Enrico Gasparotto (Lampre)
** Eros Capecchi (Liquigas), Marc de Maar, Grega Bole (Lampre)
* Domenico Pozzovivo (Colnago), Dario Cataldo (Omega Pharma), Wilco Kelderman

Our goal
We have a pretty strong team here, with 4 riders that can win a stage: Thomas Dekker, Marc de Maar, Thomas de Gendt and Wilco Kelderman. With these guys, it's obvious that we aim for a stage win and a Top 3 in the GC.

First report will come tomorrow. Already played the stage, but my bed is calling me! One hint: islands can win! See you tomorrow!
