Yep, Contador has already won the Tour and Vuelta because of bonus seconds, would be fitting for him to do the same at the Giro

Ventoso did great job! Bizarre finish by Pettachi. Hitted the wall?
ALso i have to say i'm dissapointed by Visconti. That Finish was almost DESIGNED FOR HIM.

As already mentioned Visconti has knee problems. That`s why he rode for Gatto, who wasn`t able to stay with the best in the end.
A Visconti in a good form would have definitely been a good bet today. |

For tomorrow I'm thinking of a rider like Pozzovivo or Sella to win. Serpa could also be a chance, but I think he's to close to those who want the leader's jersey, Le Mevel and Pinotti. |

That or was something said between Lampre and Movistar to the effect that if Movistar ups the pace on the last couple hills to drop any remaining sprinters that Lampre would only take victory if no Movistar rider was in serious contention?
Conspiracy Theory 178
But whats in that for Lampre?

Points jersey?
Not enough Flat stages the points will go to a climber this year... like last year.

On Twitter Harmon is suggesting it might have been a protest because Lampre all rode for Scarponi and not for him. Really Harmon

Exactly. A sprinter wont win the points jersey this year, and so if Petacchi wanted that, he would have to take every point possible - not go giving away victories

My only thought is that:
1) If you don't want to win then you just pretend you can't come round, you don't come round then stop
Therefore the only conspiracy theory that works is one where Peta is sending Moviestar a message
Hence, Moviestar have promised to work for Scarponi in return for this stage win.
Or I guess Peta did cramp, one of the two.

He just was faster than Ventoso when he acclerated from his backwheel but when he came out of the slipstream he couldn´t keep the speed. There were lots of attacks on the uphill part before so he probably had lots of lactate in his legs. Maybe he went too early but we´ll never know what really happend and why he slowed down...

I Think Nordhaug has ridden well tactically so far. He has used very little power so far but he knows he will have a chance to win a mountain or very tolking stage in a breakaway, and I have also heard rumours that he might go for the green jersey. |

Tactically as in staying in the main group not losing time? Just common sense imo.
Also I'd love to hear these rumours that he's going for the KoM, I think he has no chance imo.

The Giro KoM goes to someone who goes in a couple of breaks, GC competitors won't get it so while unlikely Nordhaug has as good a shot as anyone

Hagen and Hushovd are history now. Time to make Nordhaug a superstar.

If Kristoff wins a stage, then we're officially annexing this forum. |
