I find it funny that most managers commenting are PT managers :-p
Anyway, Mb got it, hilly guys score lots of points = good. Racedays are really important to consider, look at the 2 best individual riders, lots of race days. You also need a depth in your team. My team got 4 great points scorers, and then nothing... Riders with 1 great stat are better in CT than PT.

Also, variety doesn't really help. There is no point trying to have a leader in every type of race, as you can get by just specialising in one aspect of racing.

Absolutely agree with alex and mb. In my opinion, in the CT the absolutely key area is having a team with no climbers and have a chance to get a solid amount of points in every race you are participating in. Well, thankufully to that strategy I promoted.

I dare say Alarcon is the simplest solution |

If you wanna promote straight off, just buy SN's team.

I had 2 leaders in the season when I promoted - Hushovd, Efimkin and a bunch of sprinters and time trialists around them. Specialisation around hills, cobbles and sprints is the best combination in the CT you can do IMO.

Well, now it's better to have a specialized team. But in the past a all-rounded team would have worked too. I had Kirchen (hills), Cornu and Reus (TT), Albert (cobbles), Goss and Van Stayen (sprints).
Oh, and Alarcon is amazing if you can afford his 1 million wage. I remember there was a guy that also dominated the CT a few years ago even though his wage was only around 100k

Those days are over now, unfortunately.
I wish I would've been around for the Mangame a year earlier. Feels like the prices really shot up last year, and this year it'll be even worse. I'm really scared I wont be able to find any decent riders for a good price.

@Pellizotti
Game just got much bigger. Law of supply and demand.
SN might seriously have to consider setting the budgets a little higher across the board... |

Exactly, demand just went up, without a major increase in supply. |

Supply is riders though.
Larger budgets also increases demand

I know, that was my point.
More teams = Higher wages

What should a higher budget help, if we all get the same percentage?

Got Zabel'd... Like mb said the supply isn't wage cap, it's riders.
And imo there are enough good riders to pick from. I reckon there are 20 riders or so with 77AVR in the free agents pool, and there will most likely come one or two more after the contract renewals.

I think Deadpool read my post wrong ;-) that happens
More teams = Higher Demand
More money = Higher Demand
Luckily SN has planned for it, so he have added ALOT of new riders aaand:
More riders = Higher supply
I doubt this will even it out (in other words, we will have to pay more money for our riders), me guess is that the raise will happen for the "middle" riders (75-78 in main stat). The best riders will be in the same price range, while the worst will aswell (becuse there are so many at that level) but the super-domestiques will be more expensive (For CT teams they will be leaders). I also believe the best talents will be more expensive. (I'm sure this years best talent will get way more than Cattanaeo got last year, I guess atleast 500k+)

I'm not too sure on talents getting a higher wage. I hope people will use a bit of common sense when chasing talents.
A rider with level 1 and 0,00 pts will take 4 seasons to be very interesting, so to pay 500K + for them would be a bad decision imo. For a CT team those 500K could very well mean demotion from the PCT, which is killer.
For a PT team 500k is alright to use, but it would mean that you can probably quite dreaming of winning the Pro Tour. Also the rider you just bought will have to be loaned out. So you don't even get to see him race until the season after.
I can understand if you spend 500k on a rider at level 3 level, but level 1? No way. Or well, that is my view on the subject

Just watch, SN will have a diabolical formula for renewals, dropping a huge number of riders who would usually be retained.
