Cunego clearly has given up on the whole "I'm clean" thing.
yep he looks like Sella for me today..
Looks like Sella.....
He only attacked with about 2.5km to go... not as if he was off the front all day holding off the entire dopped up giro field
It was just deja vu moment..
On screen was Cunego..out of the seat..mouth open..he just remninded me Sella style (Sella was a idiot..he took to much and on every damn day) |

Armstrong was the guy with the best acceleration on a mountain in recent years. Basso gave him a test a number of times. Therefore, Basso is more than capable of stop-start against Valverede.
How recent are we going because Pantani 98 would give him a run for his money
Well, 10 years ago is not recent in my opinion.
Pantani was better than LA, imo. Though, some I'm sure would say that Lance always had the measure of Marco. |

8 years ago Lance humiliated Pantani in Alps and several times.. Marco never came back after that |

Pantani won on the ventoux(the one he got gifted by armstrong) and on Courchevel (fair and square)
LA won only the TT that year I think, so I don't get how he 'humiliated' Pantani in the mountains.. |

Great ride by the Dutchies today. Hoogerland doing far better then you'd expect from him, and Gesink not hesitating when having energy left. Good sign. |

Fuglsang is out of it losing almost 11 minutes today. Here's to a stage win!

Great ride by Cunego. Never never would have expected that. And GO Evans he deserves some good results. |

Attacking off a group going slowly on the first mountain stage isn't that difficult. Soler did it while barely able to walk and would have made it if not for Di Luca.

I wouldnt say great ride by cunego was good but not great as the favourites didnt bother marking him. Will be interesting to see if he says in now though as he might think he can win. Also look at when he won the giro how many top class riders were racing and compare it to this years vuelta. Quite similar i would say |

Can't believe Cunego finally won something after his Giro victory. I saw him getting dropped from the peloton on almost every climb and I'm happy he finally won a stage in grand tour again.
Wyman, I'm on your side for today. |

Kind of disappointing by Valverde having all his team mates controlling the peloton, without attack... Looks like he either didn't want the jersey, or couldn't take it... |

I'm not saying he's gonna win it!!
He attacked at the right time for once....
wait he was actually with the front group for once...
It will be interesting to see if he actually tries to stay up there everyday... or whether he'll drop off with ballan and people like last year...
