wait what? are you saying that Michael Rasmussen overtook somebody in a time trail? did that really happen? please tell me that I misunderstood.
You know, I could go on and on about that sequence. I literally did not know whether to laugh or cry, seriously |

I find it really funny how some guys keeps repeating "wheelsucking" word and disrespectful things like that. If you actually try to use your brain and head, you'll see it's actually very smart way of racing. He's not trying to fight Nibali/Porte with countless attacks on mountains as he's clearly weaker than them, so he's just trying to follow them and use the power he has wisely (or to save it for later, where they'll maybe get tired). Shortly said, he's trying to compensate his lack of stength with his brain, which is, last time I checked, perfectly allowed and actually good thing in cycling. So, making phrases like wheelsucking and such a things is hilarious. It's all cycling, no matter how much you'd want everyone to attack as stupid morons on the road and to die after every stage. This also applies to Sagan and his style of riding.
This message isn't a direct reply to anyone, but a general thing that I noticed over here (few guys kept constantly saying what I noted above).

The only guy I would categorize as a wheelsucker was Evans up until 2011, where he literally ONLY followed the other riders even though I think it was obvious a few times that he had more in the tank. I didnt like that. |

must have forgotten then. the only time I could remember Rasmussen in a time trail was in TdF final TT in 2005.

agree 100%. him winning the worlds was a great thing because after that he changed into a much more offensive (less wheelsucky way) rider.
also: Stage 5: Froome out
Stage 10: Contador out
Stage 15: Nibali out?
Stage 20: Porte out?
Pinot wins the tour

statement issued this evening, manager at Tinkoff-Saxo, Bjarne Riis, said: “Alberto crashed on a fast and straight part of the descent. He was reaching for his pocket and the bike was swept away under him probably because of a bump or hole in the road |

Tour is going to be real boring if Nibali can just ride from his opponents with easy like today. Pinot came very strong at the end but beside that everyone was just a lvl. under Nibali. |

Rogers interview, good one. https://www.rideme...-us-proud/
"He was in pain. And we now know that he’s broken his tibia… that’s why he was in agony the poor guy. He was just a hero to get up and pedal with a broken tibia.”
True that! A god damn hero, rides 18 km in that condition. What an admirable pure will to ride & win! Still, breaks my heart seeing a picture like this:

I feel so sorry for Bertie. He wanted to win Tour so badly. Really really sad. |

Machado and Schillinger are both still in the race as the jury decided not to enforce the OTL rules and deducted them 20 points for green instead (which is as good as no penalty of course).

do they even have points for the green?
*checks letour.fr*
119. | MACHADO Tiago | 206 | TEAM NETAPP-ENDURA | -13 pts | 120. | SCHILLINGER Andreas | 208 | TEAM NETAPP-ENDURA | -20 pts |
that's funny good that there able to continue, hoping for Machado that he's able to something good in the third week (not sure how hard he crashed but I presume that he won't be doing much in the second week)

Machado should have points for the breakaway on stage 9. But still he might be on minus. Good job they can continue, theres a day for rest so hopefully Machado can get himself to a raceable state |

Ruben: what a classy comment! If Valverde had the legs that Nibali got, Im sure we would see him up the slopes. Unfortunetely he hadn't. You cant seriously blame him for that. And its not like Mollema is the most aggressive rider either when speaking of wheelsucking, is it?
When I say bunch of wheelsuckers, I do also mean types as Mollema and Vandenbroeck yeah.
Also, I'm not exactly a big fan of Mollema anymore because he is so anonymous in all the top 10 placings by doing nothing. I really don't care.
I sometimes feel you're only goal is to attack all my posts sorry for having a different opinion then you. Live with it. Valverde is a wheelsucker in the worst sort. Sorry to say |

So Nibali nearly on Froome level and the others, Porte/Valv, Bardet etc all very slightly improved in terms of challengers even from last year, considering the profile prior to the final climb today.
