he'll take yellow and the stage. he might very well not win the Volta, but he'll be tough to crack in the next mountain stages.

I've edited it.
Jiménez and Mosquera are nowhere today. they must be holding out for the Vuelta

Didn't Heras drive for Liberty Seguros when he won at least one Vuelta victory?

look above. I even wrote on the post "I got the joke"
The Volta is now between Sousa (less likely), Blanco and Guerra. there's smaller mountains to come and then a 40km tt that's mostly flat and ends in a mountain
well done Dan Martin. finishing with Barbosa and Cobo about 4 mins behind the first favorites. 7 or so minutes behind the breakaway guy.

I must say that the tour of Portugal sickens me. I remember back in Vuelta Asturias when LA Mss dominated, then the drug scandal happened(luckily they are not in this race) and now you see Liberty Seguros totally dominating, and this is the old backup squad for the old super doping team Liberty Seguros( they actually have brought back Fuentes clients Isidro Nozal and Koldo Gil from the old team)
I wouldn't be suprised if we see a new doping scandal soon with this team altough the controls in Portugal are surely not top class. I don't think anyone can enjoy this race, seriously the whole Operacion Puerto team is riding here, it's filthy, rotten and discusting. And please tell me how all these portugese riders can beat Juan Jose Cobo and Gomez Marchante who has peformed incredible well in the Tour and Vuelta.
When is Portugal going to take the doping problem seriously? It's like a sanctuary for dopers |

all you say is true...except you seem to think Saunier are saints. And you probably will turn around and support Rabobank or some other dopers, so it's irrelevant
yes, it sickens me too, but if I didn't watch races where I know for a fact there are dopers, I'd be watching kids racing in my backyard and nothing else (there's no joke here. if you think rabobank and csc and whatever the hell are clean you're a very innocent man/woman/whatever)
also, the "LA MSS scandal" turns out may have been made up. nothing was actually found. they were raided but nothing was found. not that they're clean or even anywhere near clean.

I honestly do believe that CSC, Team Garmin and Colombia are clean simply because they have a anti doping program which I trust. Over to the Saunier Duval issue, I know that they are not saints and I have my doubts about Cobo who was the only one who could follow Piepoli on the Hautacam(even though he struggled sometimes) but if we say that Cobo is probably doped and peformed so well in the Tour, how can 4 riders from a small portugese team and other unknown portugese riders defeat him so clearly on a big mountain stage? What are these riders on? |

Columbia sure. most Garmin riders, sure. CSC no chance in hell. I wish I could have the same innocence. I truly do. But when you go to scientific facts it becomes bloody clear that just like 99.9% of performances in all sports at the olympics, most top cyclists' performances would be impossible LITERALLY by the perfect cyclist if he were clean.
As for "unknown riders", they've always been this good. They're not unknown, they've always been this good. They're just not signed by big teams because of the reputation that portuguese teams (rightfully) have.
As for "what they're on", HGH, blood transfusions and EPO. you know, the three things that can't be tested for,. Even Saugy himself says that due to that fact, pretty much every professional rider is on it and that they can prove that by lab tests but they can't consider it a positive test due to stupidly strict criteria.
EDIT: to clarify, Saugy is the head of the Lausanne lab, the most advanced in the world.

But you say that you think Colombia and Garmin are probably clean, and they got 8th and 5th in the GC in the tour, Vandevelde was on the same level as most of the other GC candidates in the tour, isn't that a sign that most of the unbeatable riders(doping) from the other years are gone? From what I saw in this Tour the only "incredible" peformances came from Ricco and the Saunier Duval team. And another example is the last time trial where usually the top 3 in the GC get's the top spots, but this year the tt specialist's like Cancellara, Schumacher and Millar beat the GC contenders, and that's the way it should be right because they have used less energy in the mountains.
And yes, Isidro Nozal is really on Liberty Seguros this year, altough suprisingley he's not at the same level as he had before Operacion Puerto
