Australians are simply outclassed.
This Germany is great to watch
Yeah, technically perfect, maybe their two center fullbacks are a bit weak, but they've got one of the best midfield of this WC.

I really wouldn't go there.
Badstuber can have some defensive problems, but that's mostly because he gets no help from Podolski. Other than that, I'd say they're quite well served for fullbacks.

The World Cup has just started! Great match - I expected 3-0.. Okay Germany as usual do play well and get easily out of the qualifying group - take it for sure. On the other hand, they appear weaker in the World Cup knockout, maybe for they are challenged by good and technical teams. Thats why I'd say wait and see. BTW, we must confess that Australia are only good at rugby - crap at football

Very strong from Germany. Maybe we should take into account the opposition. Australia seems to have gone backwards after this Asian qualification. This has allowed New Zealand a back door entry to the world cup but I digress the Australians seems to have failed to recognise that some of their players are fading badly. Kewell was he injured before he had even started? But still they have another chance, can their coach work out how to play an attacking formation now? Lets hope they do not harp on about the sending off - as unjust as it was - they were well beaten before that.
The TV is now going to be on mute. It is for dual reasons:
1) The Obvious the horns are just monotone and very irratating.
2) The second is the UK commentary it just winds me up. Yesterday the defence of Heskey. 'In 1998 France had Stéphane Guivarc'h, in 2010 England have Heskey' I couldn't help it, the first time my fiance's mother heard me shout a swear word!
We get to see the Dutch against Danes tomorrow should be a good one and of course Italy against Paraguay could be interesting to see how that goes too. |

Yes, Heskey defenders do that a lot. But it's a fallacy. Heskey does a decent job, but Guivarc'h's job wasn't the same.
Guivarc’h’s role was a lot different to how it is remembered.
Actually, it’s difficult to see quite what he did for France. He didn’t hold the ball up, his movement wasn’t particularly good, he didn’t win headers and he didn’t defend from the front. None of France’s best moves came from Guivarc’h doing anything well. France were simply a good side with a really poor striker, and he simply missed a hatful of chances.

On to more important stuff, will the Dutch destroy Denmark? Or have their usual fuck-up match against lesser teams? (WC 94: lost to Belgium. WC 98: Draw against Belgium WC 2006: win against Serbia, but with poor play)

Yep, and Heskey was one of England's best players last night.
As for the Vuvuzelas, they are really so irritating. As has already been said, they take away what should be a great atmosphere. It wouldn't matter nearly as much if there were less of them and if they weren't constantly there in the background, but were rather used as a reaction to what was happening on the pitch. It especially irritates me because I have a big problem with constant piercing noises. It's honestly very hard watch a full half of football with the sound on.
But why do I have to have my exams right in the middle of the world cup? I hate having to miss loads of games
Oh well...Portugal v Brazil to celebrate the end of school and exams a week on Friday |

Germany was too good. I was disapointed to see Australia give up so early after Cahill went. But the line up was horrible and im sure there will be big changes against Ghana. But we have beaten/draw with them before with a B team so its not over yet.
We are turning into a real football country now, everyone is blaming the coach for everything about the loss. Or maybe its just the pommy influence Either way its a step forward for football here |

Thanks! I hadn't seen any 'solutions' so far, but Google comes up with a few ideas. |

Ahh, I suppose this is the point right before the game where the Dutch and the Danish battle over the mortal souls of the neutrals.
On one hand; we were in a union for 600 years (and voluntarily, unlike with the Swedes... who by the way smell)
On the other hand: I like the Dutch football mentality, whereas Danish football is reknown for its... snooziness.
Anyway, it appears that every single person in the kingdom of Norway, both close and near are cheering for the Dutch. I will therefore now fall in for peer-pressure and commense trash talk mode:
The Danish team should take choir-lessons.

Netherlands have great strikers and can score at any time but crap at defending. It sounds like a back and forth match . I'd say 3-1

Should be a good match. I want to see Bendtner (don't know how to spell it) play, he's really good. |

Not particularly impressed by the Dutch so far, they are playing exactly the way the Danes anticipated.

Denmark defends well and counters well.
We are missing depth. I want Elia in (or Robben, but Van Marwijk is a pussy)
I knew this would happen, Denmark with 10 men in defense and countering with speed and long balls. |
