Smal you are wasting your time if you think Gesink will ever get stats according to his performances. He could finish 100 at Giro and Tour and still get better stats than some guys in the top 10. If he crashes then he will keep his or even get better ones because we will never know what he could have done excuse and if not and he performs bad then he will keep his stats because hey he is just Robert Gesink. He is in the Database the Grand Tour winner that never was close to win a Grand Tour IRL and never will.
Thats thruth,reality. Well said!

And you are wrong here His stats will remain same or decrease after Giro. Unlikely to really increase to be fair, but possible, I guess.

85 obviously.
No, I'd say 72-73 as we still haven't seen him on a flat TT. But I'm not Polish of course. |

Not sure, but it does influence when they retire, as the game considers that the rider's potential is how good they were at their peak, so it compares the current stats to what the peak must've been, and if it's a bid difference the guys consider retiring.
It's why giving old guys low potential doesn't work well. They should instead be given the potential of how good they once were, and an age of decline before their current age.

I would say this is a great idea. But i would still drop all riders over 30 potential by at least 1 point. The inflation of stats is annoying, especially as more and more young riders are coming to the fore.
And why are people still talking about Gesink? Alak does know who he is and what his results and talent are!

Maybe because he and dutch fans seems to be the only ones still seeing Grand Tour potential in him. Eurosport Germany, France and UK , La gazzetta dello sport, cyclingnews..... don't think like them hard to say who is right cycling experts or pcm daily stats... |

It's not like Alakagom is Dutch, so just don't worry!!
Alak knows what's good. And this will just be a key season for Gesink. If he fails again this season, his stats will be lowered quite a bit I guess

Alak - what stats will Gaudin and Turgot (EUC) have in the update? (unless its coming very soon, then i can wait)
And can Edmondson (SKY) please take a drop in MO and HL. Down to 68-69 in both. Really has not shown anything that merits his current stats.
And i'll say again, i believe Kennaugh should have a PLG boost, up to 74/75.

Cancellara up to 84 COB?
May be biased but he was very dominant in the classics.
Or perhaps raise his secondary stats?
Oh and Stybar should get about 77 COB I think, this was the only race where he really did a great job.

Don't forget to update Ramon Sinkeldam, Top 25 at Roubaix deserves a higher COB value than 68

I believe this has been suggested before.
As answered last time, why? He may be an excellent track rider, but so far he has no results in any prologues / time trials.
88th in the 2010 Romandie prologue
42nd in the 2010 Dauphiné prologue
65th in the 2012 Giro prologue
As for Cancellara, I wouldn't give him any boost. Would be better to lower some of his rivals instead, to even the field out. Roubaix was a very open race, after all.

I agree lowering potential is a good, too many top riders after a while. Altenatively, we could do an allround stat reduction so there's a maximum of 81-82? for the best of each stats?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No because young (scouted) riders will get overpowered.
Another thing that I see a lot is that young (scouted) riders ususally have a very high Downhill stat.

While i agree 77 should be more than enough, saying that he done something great only in Roubaix is far from reality.
He worked his ass off for OPQS leaders during all the cobbled classics and still finished inside top40 of RvV and E3. If he was leading the team, it would be probably much better. But no reason to overhype him on the cobbles, 76-77 shoul be all right imo.

Cancellara doesn't need any boosting. With the current PCM.Daily stats, all major cobbled classics are already being dominated by Boonen and Cancellara, no need to make that even more excessive. |
