@all: Thanks for the comments, guys!
@baia: Thanks, mate! Your words make me feel more comfortable about Cunego Hope, you're right.. but, I agree, it was a good stage, couldn't have done much better..
@sutty68, lokytrew, sam1196: 2nd place is definitely our goal now! Win looks impossible, if nothing serious happens to Cunego.. but we all know, that podium was our main-goal here
@Faillu: Thanks for liking the preview
NOTE: I will post next stage as soon as possible.. or would you prefer a short Tour of California-summary first? Otherwise I will post it right after Giro.

Good choice to finish the Giro first. Also an amazing pic of the day.
And nice moveup in GC from Duarte, even though he did it because of Navarro's bad luck. Still, we're cheering for Duarte, so this was great news.

Funny picture of the crash: riders on the tarmac and looking for their bnikes, while the few spectators are clapping their hands and apparently enjoying it
Anyway, you stayed out of trouble (that's why your leader always have to be in the first part of the peloton!!), and Duarte is in the top 3 now!

@all: Thanks for the comments! It was indeed a lucky moment for us, when Navarro got caught behind It's not the way, you want to go on podium, but we have to take it that way
@Pelli2: A special thanks for liking the pic of the day!
Here's a preview of next stage.. the first of two remaining ITTs:

This is a perfect stage for pure climbers like Duarte. The sprinters might fall out of the time limit here. 40km!!! What`s this for a variant???

It's indeed a perfect stage for climbers like Duarte. Insane timetrial, but hey, there's no reason to complain for us
It's Johan92's variant, to be found in his PCM11-Stages-thread.

The Colle del Nivolet was also part in the Giro in my Monster-story, it's long, not that steep until the last 5-6km.
Good luck.

Now that's an awesome stage, play it right and this stage can mark a beginning of fightback for Duarte. Good luck

@sutty68: Agree, 100 %
@dienblad: Yes, it's true.. last 5kms should be the toughest, but after 40kms uphill, who cares?
@Alakagom: Thanks for the "Good luck"
@tovhol: Yep!
@Schleck96: You don't have to wait anymore..

Wow, what a TT from Duarte!
Seized grip over second overall there too, and created a small chance to hunt down Cunego as well. Well done.

Awesome stage. Hopefully Duarte can gain more time on Cunego in the mountains and overtake him. |
