That's one hell of a bike. Looks great.
Course thoough, on one of those, the pressure to deliver some good results is greater.... |

carbon? Weight? I also have an average bike - 105-105-Ultegra, Specialized alu frame, except some parts, carbon seat post, and some crappy wheels.
After I bought some things there was a newe seat, Specialized Toupe Ti 143(?), and new Speedplay pedals. Now I bought some Fulcrum Racing 3's, got them cheap at Wiggle.
Also, when I'm racing I use another Specialized bike, almost same, but Dura-Ace. Also got another one, Fuji SL-1, but I don't use it too much. Weight is 6,5 kg on the Fuji.
Pictures when the snow is gone Or I can find some from last summer. |

That's the machine. Training, racing, everything all on that.
Who gives a hoot about the weight? All I care about was the fact that on todays ride with some guy with a £5000 Cervelo + carbon wheels + lots of other expensive bits and kit, I rode him into the ground. Continually. It's not what you've got, its what you do with what you've got.

I think a bit of both Wacko. I've been out Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Today this week. Wracked up 12 and a half hours this week. Feel tired, which is pretty normal considering. Just have to repeat that for the next 4 weeks and I should be fit enough. Just learnt that the first race I was going to enter today is already oversubscribed (120 entries for 80 places). So have to look for something else now.

Well, its been like it for ages, The races early season are soooo over subscribed, especially the road ones, and then by May time they start being less full as people realise they've been doing shit as they haven't trained. So, my theory is, train like mad (for free) early on (now) and then by April/May time, with some crits in my legs, I'll be raring to go, and will actually be able to get my 2nd cat this year. And a win. And a top 20 in a national B race. Not much to aim for

a win with a victory salute is the best. my only two wins have been a hill-climb so no celebration there and the closest handicap race ever. i went double the speed of an 8 year old and pipped her on the line

Evesham Vale, just don't bother. You won't get a ride. I know the organiser's sons - they were the ones who told me it was full full and more full.
Beating an 8 year old... really rewarding that must have felt
