to resume i think pepe was the only portuguese to deserve a spot in the best 11 and c.ronaldo was rubbish(expected ) and this was the best this team had to offer
go Neds!
C. Ronaldo was rubbish? Hell no. Count his assists and goals, and you will see that he has been important for Portugal.
THis isn't the english league. Meaning, this is about technical skill and tactical awareness, not athletic ability. He did nothing, just as he will in his first season in Spain

Why do the portuguese insist on playing Simao?
I mean, on paper he's a good player - fairly fast, good technique, good crossing, but seems to me he never produces anything decent. Hardly ever challenges his opponent, and when he does, he's stripped of the ball. Other than this he plays the simple pass, and rarely makes a good run off the ball. Noted he did make one good run yesterday.
I just can't see why Scolari doesn't try out Quaresma or Nani instead, they'd be much more dangerous imo.
And Meira should've played instead of Petit last night, he would've given the germans a fight in the air. |

I've been saying for a long time that Scolari's Portugal is not the strongest team we could have.
For starters, Nuno Gomes should never be on the starting eleven. Hugo Almeida is as good a player as Nuno and has the advantage of being the only portuguese striker that can actually use his head in the box...
Ricardo is a joke of a player but that has already been said millions of times...
About Meira, he is a good player but he tends to mess up in big matches and I think Petit actually played well throughout the competition.
Simão is a good player. But that's it... But he is still better than Quaresma who is extremely overrated and Nani who can't do more than 60 minutes each game.

Nani...
He only played 1 whole match (against the Swiss right?) and was a substitute twice and still is the player with the most fouls in the group games with 12 commited fouls

Its an amazing fact that in the whole of the tournament, Turkey have led for around 2 minutes - and yet theyre in the Semis
So, who will play Germany in the final?

I can report that the turkish community around here have exploded in joy and are now driving randomly around and being loud.

Having lived in Ishøj, I know all about that I was once also in Turkey when Galatasaray won the Turkish championship. They went crazy, I tell you Also, when Turkey won one of the group stage matches, I had a friend in Berlin calling me, but I couldn't him hear at all, because of the loud noise in the background from Turkish people driving in their cars being loud
It's a joy to watch, though. |
