Here at my house the flooding was pretty bad after I did the ice bucket challenge

I still think that thing is the stupidest idea I've ever heard. Why would you be so willing to not give money to charity, you'd perform an easy and not painful feat, and then record yourself an excuse as to why you aren't giving money to charity for some idiotic non related reason. |

I think that most (at least famous) people, who are doing this are also spending money.
But the videos are good to call attention. So they help twice.
The usual 0815 youtuber is probably making it mainly for fun and not spending money. Some might not even know what exactly it is about.
But still lots of millions were spent since the challenge started, which is far more than normally. Of course it`s just for the moment and will slow down afterwards. But it`s much needed money for sure.
Imagine Bill Gates would have had been in the camera for a 2min dialogue just talking. Many wouldn`t have followed him. Now with the Ice Bucket Challenge people keep watching as it`s funny.
But I agree that many people forget the most important part. Instead of just doing it and nominate three others, they should also ask the people to spend money for it and tell them where. This would imo raise more attention for the real topic.
As much as I am normally not a fan of Steve-O he seems to have a good point in his video:
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO GOT MAD AT ME FOR THIS VIDEO: Since the ice bucket challenge began, over 15 million dollars has been raised for ALS research. I think that's great, but when you consider the countless A-list celebrities who have actively gotten behind this cause by posting videos-- the fact that not more than fifteen million dollars has been raised is a tragedy. It's tragic because I don't think many of those celebrities even bothered to mention how or where to donate money for ALS research. Most of them just poured water over their heads and named three random people, without including any "call to action" which actually benefits victims of ALS at all. Had all those celebrities given this cause any thought, hundreds of millions of dollars might have been raised, and a whole lot more awareness. I'm back from my week vacation. Glad to see you guys didn't burn the place down while I was gone.
(However) I'm still lacking in free time at the moment with uni starting up on Monday alongside my part-time job and college internship. So, in other words, I probably won't be as active as I have been in the past but no worries, I'll still try and complete my admin duties to the best of my abilities.

I agreed with this at first, as many people just want the attention of others. But after thinking it over, it really does raise awareness and spreads the word to those few people who actually will donate that are not celebrities.

Okay, now I've got the time, I'll answer this.
While, on one side, it really looks like I do think I am beautiful, I am acting arrogant and all of that you've seen from me on this forum, it's just one big joke. Of course I do not think I am beautiful in real life and of course I am not this arrogant in real life... It's just dumb to even think it's like that, but I never bothered myself to explain that in details, as anyone normal would easily notice that. So, as a conclusion, I don't really know what to say if you think I am dead serious while writing those sarcastics posts or posting ironic signatures/avatars.
On another side, people may dislike me or be mean to me, as you said it, because I do have different opinion on many topics compared to theirs, but that's just another dumb thing. There will always be difference in opinions between West and East and after all, it's normal that people have different opinions on different subjects and topics.
Also, they're Americans and I do not like America and anything connected to its politic and "normal" way of thinking (f.e. I do like Code and his open-minded way of thinking about some things, even though he's an American too), so that may hurt'em.
At the end, I don't really give many fucks about who is mean to me on the internet forum and who is not. This is all one big hobby, so no one should really get anything written on this forum too serious.
