@Ollfardh: He's collecting more and more 4th places indeed!
@sutty: Which isn't surprising actually Smile

Race report

Timothy is part of the 5-men break today.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1486_zpsa47f9ba3.jpg

At the foot of the final climb, 9kms from the line, the 5 leaders have 1min57 to the peloton. A win for the break seems likely.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1487_zps18fa9092.jpg

Many attacks from the pack! Navarro is away with Durán, while Arredondo and Kvasina seem to have a bad day.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1488_zpse04c997c.jpg

The break is shattered at the top.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1489_zps94ae1926.jpg

Under the banner Malacarne seems the main contender today.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1490_zpsdb1853dd.jpg

At the line
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1491_zpsc20d456f.jpg
he holds on, beating Durán by quite a margin. Timothy had given too much energy in the downhill and comes last in the sprint. Joep comes 9th later on. No gaps were awarded until 22nd place, so Joep ends up 4th.

July overview

Beside the Tour de France the first transfers were completed as well, with Chris Froome signing for Katusha, Bauke Mollema for Omega Pharma, John Degenkolb for Garmin, together with Arnaud Démare and Zdenek Stybar signing for Argos.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
This will be the last report for the next couple of weeks. I'll first have to edit the DB a lot (transferring riders, entering new riders, editing points, remake race schedules), and I'm going to leave for about a month afterwards, first due to Rock Werchter and 2 days later I'll be going on vacation with my family. The story will continue shortly after coming back, with the first race the Tour des Pyrénées

Hi,

I'm currently without much time, so is anyone willing to simulate this save a couple of days ahead, to see if it all works?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay all, I've got a little bit of editing to do and due to my pc constantly annoying me it's kinda hard to constantly get back motivation. I'll try to get started somewhere later this week, but once again, I'm very sorry

A new update: I got it to work. I only need to do a few minor edits now, so the story will continue later this week. Thanks a lot to Atlantius, who helped me a lot here.

Stages
Stage 1
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1492_zps7f9c41a5.jpg
A flat stage to start with. It should usually end in a mass sprint, unless an attacker manages to stay away.

report

Stage 2
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1493_zps29c8f991.jpg
One of the mountain stages. With finish on the Pla d'Adet the climbers should win here.

report

Stage 3
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1494_zpsac210033.jpg
The other mountain stage should be the decision in the GC. The downhill might limit the differences though.

report

Stage 4
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1495_zps1a1912fb.jpg
The final stage is a sprint stage. Due to some hills on the way the attackers are far from chanceless though.

report

Our squad
Jonas Ek is a domestique here, mainly for the flat stages and the beginning of mountain stages.
Joep Gouda is leader again. The climber is still in a good shape and wants to shine in his peak race.
Fatbardh Haxhi is the sprinter here. He'll give it a shot in both flat stages.
Heiko Kalichmann is a rider for a break, or perhaps to serve in the middle of the mountain stages.
Khieu Tet Khamphan has the same role as Jonas here. He should be able to help Fatbardh decently.
Timothy Raue is the main support for Joep here. The no.2 of the Tour de Korea can hang on long to serve Joep.
Taeke Roorda is another flat specialist to help our riders here. His role should be known.
Floris Swings makes his debute for our team here. He'll try to get used to the peloton here and if possible help Fatbardh.

@The Hobbit: I recommend you stage 1 of the Tour Alsace
@sutty: I'm glad to be back here. My previous break of such a length didn't include absence from PC and PCM. This time it was hard to get motivation back, but I'm glad I made it.

Race report

With nothing to lose we send Taeke in the break, which consists of 3 riders.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1500_zpsbc5fee4e.jpg

Two close battles on the Cat.2 hills cause Winkler to drop, although he rejoins later. The battle for the mountain jersey will be decided between Sterobo and Taeke on the cat.4 hill.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1501_zpsd2764a1a.jpg

Sterobo wins that battle unfortunately.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1502_zpsa7c2c41d.jpg

With 25km to go he tries to get rid of the break.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1503_zps6c5c4d5a.jpg

With 14kms to go Taeke gets reeled in by the pack.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1504_zpsf811ad80.jpg

With 8.5kms to go Sterobo also reaches his inevitable fate.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1505_zps81c7de5c.jpg

An Post sets up a sprint train, which Fatbardh follows. Khieu has a good day and tries to disrupt the pack.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1506_zps401194b7.jpg

With 2kms to go he is pulled back. Cofidis also reaches the front now.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1507_zps965e1521.jpg

Fouchard does an incredible lead-out for Poulhiès.
i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1508_zps57c0b3ff.jpg

i40.photobucket.com/albums/e206/Selwink1/Projob%20odfjell/PCM1509_zps773324ba.jpg
And Poulhiès has no trouble finishing what was set up for him. Fouchard himself comes 3rd, behind Bennett. Fatbardh sprints extremely strong and ends up 5th, just behind Le Boulch. Timothy also sprints into the top-10.

It didn't look too mountainous. A fantastic result for Fatbardh, it is time our Albanian picked up a win, he is due one, c'mon Haxhi! Wink

Yes but you wouldn't expect Fatbardh Haxhi, the antithesis of a climber, to be doing well in a mountainous Pyrenean environment, which suggests we didn't go over any mountains in the stage........

- Will be interesting to see how the team's former riders are getting on at some point. Wink
