Wow, my team has very bad luck: 1 abandon, 2 crashes today. At least Josef's still 5th

And there it was!
I would dance of joy, but my legs don't quite feel like dancing at the moment
It was a hard day, but with the built-up rage and determination from yesterday I dug deep and I'm actually quite happy to have gotten my first podium after 8 days as a pro cyclist!

It might help if Matthews was on the startlist. |

Ummm, this is awkward...
Whistles innocently in the corner...
What u guys gotta understand is that we have a really awful team, with one decent sprinter, so we would chase, but we're awful, soooooo, blame Orica, it's all Cycleman's fault.... Yeah, that's what I thought. |

That's dedication. Howard beat Brookes on the 1st stage for the win.
@The Hobbit, you haven't got an awful team. You just shouldn't really have split the team ie. climbers + sprinters. You should really have brought five guys for Brookes. Bongiorno and Pirazzi for example are just sitting in the peloton all day doing nothing. And it's not like they're doing anything on the GC. If you sign a top sprinter, you have to be prepared to sacrifice some GC aspirations every now and again.
Baggio deserves a pay rise though, the guy's been a beast for you, likewise with Christian Meier and Leukemans. |

Well sadly, we really need San Luis, Oman and Algarve to finish first. And it's not looking like that will be any time soon . |

Le Tour de Langkawi Stage 8
Favourites: Brookes (BAR), Guardini (AST), Howard (OGE), D.Van Poppel (VCD), Kruopis (OGE)
Outsiders: Alinejad (RLT), Porsev (KAT), B.Van Poppel (VCD), Vantomme (CRE), Siskevicius (SOJ)
Weather: 30°, sunny. Light breeze.
Another chance for a bunch sprint. Will the top teams manage to organise a successful chase today or will it be another failure?
163 km to go: Almost instantly, three riders go on the attack, no doubt spurred on by the events of the last two days. They are McEvoy (TNE), Talabardon (SOJ) and Cornu (TSV).
145 km: They are soon joined by two others, Delfosse (CRE) and I.Kovalev (RVL) and that is the break of the day. At the first sprint, Talabardon rolls through first, ahead of Delfosse and Kovalev. The peloton follows four minutes later.
110 km: The breakaway has its maximum advantage of 6'15 as the peloton begins to up the pace on a hot day.
72 km: As the escapees roll through the second sprint, the order is Delfosse, McEvoy, Talabardon. The peloton is just under four minutes behind now but the real chase hasn't begun yet.
42 km: In stark contrast to the last two stages, there are plenty of riders on the front of the pack, setting a high pace. AST, VCD, BAR and OGE doing the work, as usual, and they are helped out a bit by UHC, who of course have the race lead.
34 km: At the third and final sprint, Talabardon, Kovalev and McEvoy take the points but the peloton is just 1'45 behind, so it all seems to be in vain.
12 km: Incredibly, as we fast forward to the closing stages, the breakaway still has over a minute on the peloton, who can't really go any faster! Delfosse attacks his companions and tries to solo to the win.
8 km: Delfosse's attempt is over already as he is caught by his fellow escapees. The peloton is exactly a minute behind at this point and riders like Brajkovic, Pirazzi and Flecha are being forced to come to the front by their respective teams. The domestiques have run out of energy again.
5 km: The peloton can see the leaders but it makes no difference. They can not catch them, despite strong work from Westra and Flecha. Talabardon now goes on the attack ahead. Again, I think it's a bit too early and the others just continue to work together to try to stay ahead.
2 km: Kovalev has started his sprint early as he knows the peloton may catch them before the line. He has caught Talabardon, who did indeed go too early. The sprint leadouts behind are in full flow but they are forty seconds behind Kovalev. Its going to be another nailbiting one.
1 km to go: Under the flamme rouge, Kovalev still leads but McEvoy is coming quickly from behind him. Kruopis (OGE) is dragging his teammate Howard closer but will they catch them in time?
FINISH: Short answer, no. Kovalev gets a big win for RusVelo, ahead of McEvoy, who just went too late, and Cornu. Once again, Howard and Brookes take fourth and fifth but the swap the order today, the Bardiani man coming out on top. Guardini and Walker also going well in the bunch sprint, while D.Van Poppel and Alinejad disappointed. Will we get any more wins for the sprinters here??

@TMM Yeah. But still, if people don't have time, why do they sign up in the first place, or, at least say they don't have time, so someone else can take it over(in emergency only, ofc )
@Report
Damn, that was close... CT is winning too much though, time for Europcar to win as well

This is annoying me aswell. If you're too busy to do a race, just say so and somebody else can do it. And then when you become less busy you can do a later race. Oman is really going to start holding this game up soon. And I don't know what happened to nacho and Neillster .
As for this race. It's kinda like the breakaway bug we used to have. The peloton are flying along at 50-55 kph but the breakaway can go just as fast all the way to the line. Anyway, two to go, and I'll be glad to get rid of this race! The finishes are exciting but the race overall is tedious to the point of self-harm. |

Never want to see it go, easy points! So, is it genuinely a bug, or does it fail coz we all sent a good sprinter and 0 back up. |
